I trimmed my pigs tusk today. I gave him almost a whole bottle of red wine. He laid down for a belly rub then I used wire saw to trim his tusk successfully. And he's sober and normal within an hour . Test small amount first but red wine did the trick and he slurped it up happily
Thanks for this vid, answered all my questions. Been doing it for years but my pigs always freak the hell out & wanted an alternative to sedatives. Gonna get that hoof trimmer lol
You are a genius! Been waitin for some real advice that will work. My two pigs are over 250 pounds, love a belly rub, BUT HATE HOOF TRIMMING!!!!! i HAVE TRIED A CAN OF BEER, BUT I NEED MUCH MORE TO SEDATE THEM. I find my pot bellied are pigs best handled if I treat them like my half Thai wife - rough! Hey, her mother was born in the jungle, she's a half white hybrid and you don't ever give her alcohol. She beat up a sheriff deputy (a woman) called to the house once. Are you going to eat them eventually? If so, we'll eventually meet in HELL! Pigs were meant to love, not digest, you savage!
Theres a beer called Dragon's Milk. Its a higher alcohol beer. Its disgusting. Put the bread in the beer before you set the bowl down. Let it soak like a bread pudding mixture. You can also add stuff like honey and berries to the mixture. They'll slop it down and get shit faced and you can do what you need QUICKLY.
Darker beer more hoppy... get that lite stuff outta there 😂 .. our mini 190 lb dude likes the darker stuff. Also maybe separate from the smaller ones. Beer will not hurt them at all in moderation, may be good for digestion to. He says the jig is up... training from youth is best ... good luck god bless.💗🙏🏼🐽🙏🏼💗
Thanks . I have one pig. Had a ferrier but she quit and can't find anyone who want to do pigs in Middletown, Ohio 45042 she mis piggie, was a please take when she was year old in 2017.husband adopted then in 2018 husband died and I couldn't find anyone to adopt her. ❤that's my pitiful tale.
If you take corn put it in a barrel with sugar and yeast fill it up with water let it ferment they'll eat the hell out of that. And you might even like it yourself.
My vet said to use a stout beer. Three 40 Oz beers for my 350-pound kunekune boar.

Okay...now do my 650lb Berkshire sow.
I got my ducks drunk at the end of year to catch them. Worked good 🤪
not a single hoof was trimmed, i feel scammed :D
I tried, I really did.
Umm…you need to let the bread slices soak first. Common sense, man. 🤦♂️
Malt beer works better. Or my Sassy loves Mike Hard Lemonades Mango flavor!! Works like a charm. No bread needed
This gives me an idea of a pig alcohol tier list!
U gotta flip em use boards and flip them by hand
Soak the loaafs of bread first with the beer

Thanks I'll try it out!
