Those combs were a work of art. The honey looks amazing. Invest in an extractor, easier and less work for the bees to rebuild the comb. Just two frames and all that honey, enjoy
We will probably invest in an extractor for next season. This is our first year that we will get any really measurable amount of honey and I have a few friends who have offered to let me borrow their extractors. It does pain me a bit to destroy that comb...
On the farm as a kid we would just uncap it and let is sit a few days draining in the garage, don't remember mashing it.Good looking honey, I like dark honey.😋 I do remember eating my share of honey comb, chunk style also though.😋 and they didn't have plastic foundations back then. I couldn't do it, comb is GOLD, I need comb more then I need honey. Ty for sharing your time, Blessed Days...
@@FreeRangeArtFarm drawn comb is a precious resource. I must have keep over 100 honey comb frames and we’ll above that in brood frames from last season and every single frame is currently back in use this season. I smell a sweet road-trip brewing for your larger pull later this season. Have extractor. Will travel!
@@alexandriahoneyco Ya, we will certainly have to coordinate a day of honey extraction. Let me know when you guys do your harvest. I will be more than happy to come out and lend a hand.

Running out of honey is literally an emergency! That was a beautiful frame of capped honey!
Yup, and those girls did a great job on those frames. Plus, they were end frames. The entire 10 frame box looked like that.
Make sure to share with family, friends, and maybe even co-workers 😉
Lol. we have a very limited supply
I love the new beekeeper experts. Amazing how they love them some them.
Me too. Thanks for watching.
It’s a tragedy to run out. Can’t wait to harvest this year.
We managed to get the honey just in time. I think we had about 1oz. of honey left.
16% & rich dark? Bet that is delicious! About the best results of a scaped harvest I've ever seen Thomas.
Thanks Mike. It was kinda fun to do it this way, but I want to preserve the rest of the comb for next season.
That's some good looking comb, edge to edge capped
I'm very proud of those girls. Those were the end frames too.

I'm not that patient. We needed honey stat! We were down to about 1 oz. In the jar.
@@FreeRangeArtFarm ya I have found now that I have rediscovered raw honey I EAT IT lol. Have a great evening.
@@dcsblessedbees you have a great evening as well.
Those frames were a thing of beauty! Also love your double bucket method and it looked like it performed well. Not a bad route for a few frames!
Ya, and those were the end frames. The double bucket works well. Only big drawback is it destroys the comb.

The small manual ones are reasonable on Amazon. I have a electric one as well
I will check them out. In the short term I have a few available that I can borrow for a bigger harvest.
