From what i have seen your suppose to start on the other side of the stump with that style of stump grinder. you will be able to see the cutter wheel at all time. Check out some of quick attach video's . thanks for the upload of the video!!

The thing that sets the Quick Attach apart from the rest of the industry is there really is no wrong answer! Unlike some of the competitors, where you are handcuffed to only grind from Right to Left. With this unit you can grind left to right, right to left, front to back or back right to front left. After using the Quick Attach all last season. I found my tractor with front end loader was cumbersome in tight small residential lawns. There were times i was forced to think creatively. By “creative” I mean bird feeders, other trees, elevation slopes or who’s knowns what thingamajig is in the way. The inherent beauty of this attachment is it will make a rookie look like a pro. I can’t say that seeing the 24” cutting wheel is the sensory I rely on most? With my relative puny 31pto HP. I get more feedback from touch/feel of the hydraulic controls and the sound of the grinder & engine. I’m working on being better prepared to shoot more videos. I really had some doozies that i wasn’t able to record. I hope you continue to watch our videos. I promise to get myself into a few more pickles this season but have a video recording some creative solutions!

I have found that a mandatory accessory for any type of stump grinding is a leaf blower. Stop periodically and blow the chips away. With a stand-alone stump grinder the chips pile up in front of the tires and prevents you from rolling the unit towards the stump until the chips are cleared away.

You got the hydraulic hoses connected the wrong way around that's why your grinder spins the wrong way

how long did it take you to grind that stump and what is your tractor's pto hp?

Can’t remember that exact stump. Typically i give myself 3 minutes per 1 inch diameter. Obviously that is a very generic measurement, but I find that it works for me. So my estimate would be 216 minutes. My tractor is 38hp at the crank and 31hp at the PTO. It is a diesel so not exactly equivalent to a gasoline grinder as I average 450RPM at WOT.
      Hope that helps!
      Cheers 🍻

How much did you change for that stump job

Thanks for viewing! This stump was done as a favor to a friend, so I only charged the cost of me to record and video it. After doing countless stumps, i find it near impossible to quote blanket prices- as each job seems to inherently have something different about it.

@@BulldogTractor Aint that the truth! I gave up with "by the inch" or area, and now just charge by the hour with a minimum.

@@KubotaL4060 You are seeing the same as me. I find offering stump grinding is a gateway to offering more value to the customer on other tractor work side of things. Hard to compete with dedicated stump grinders on price by the inch. But what truly sets a tractor apart from the competition is the Swiss Army options of added value. I can get called for a stump, which leads to pulling a couple out-of-control arborvitae bushes, move a couple landscaping boulders, tear out dogwood, turn over compost, pull a cemented laundry pole…you name it. At that point, “here’s my half-day rate let’s knock out the summer honey-do list.” That’s when clients realize the value, then tell their neighbors and pass your name around the neighborhood 👍
      Cheers from the Bulldog 🍻
