Clone Trooper Commander Doom, first of all, I appreciate your comments to share your thinking/feelings. I acknowledge controversial non-calls. However, I'm still proud of team Thailand anyway. Because they kept playing to the best of their abilities. My favorite part was when Thai keeper Boonsing helped out injured Ivorian player. That is one of the best way to create positive reputation for one's nation, besides winning games. Regarding this match, I say luck is on Thai side. Team Ivory Coast hit Thai posts/crossbar multiple times. To top it all, Thai 3rd goal really showed that it was Thai day. First, there was no call, then the cross looked harmless but Ivorian keeper failed to handle it. Then 3-4 Ivorian defenders failed to clear it. That was something to behold. That really reminds me of USA vs Iran match in 98 World Cup. As I recall, team USA hit Iranian goal's posts/crossbar numerous times as well.
I was mentally prepared for loss. If the result had been the opposite, I would have been happy for first world cup goal(s). Team Ivory Coast and their fans should be happy and proud for making it there also. Everybody has good and bad days. Team Ivory Coast definitely has better days ahead. But after all said & done, it's just a game. Lives go on. ^^

HDsharp I'm neither cheering Thai nor I.C. As you can see 0:31, the leg of I.C's second last defender is placed left of ground's dark side.(see left foot) BUT Thai's player who received the pass stepped the ground's dark side.(see left foot) Furthermore, You know what? Assistant referee's position was incorrect, either.. She couldn't judge the offside position unless she is chasing second last defender.
I think it's only one.

I thought the referee had a great game actually, unless you are criticizing the assistant referee. They are called the assistant referees for a reason- because they are not the same as the referee.
I can absolutely guarantee that all of the members of the referee team in this match know the rules by heart. I don't think you understand how hard it is to acquire a FIFA badge. Their problem lay in mistakes in applying the law, not in not knowing it.
Please read up on how much you have to know and how much experience you have to have to be able to referee at this level. Because you may learn something.

I've accepted that the 3rd goal was offside but the referee doesn't move any flag so Thai won this game and I've thought it's only one offside not two becoz the player who assisted the first goal was in line. Without a doubt the funniest game of the 2015 Women's World Cup. 9 minutes of extra time in the second half should have been 20. So much time time wasting on both sides, particularly Thailand. Awesomely hilarious game to watch.

There's a trend in this female World Cup that is starting to annoy me intensely.
The standard of officiating is not up to that needed for a global tournament.
I have nothing against excellent female referees taking charge of men's games at the very highest level (as in the World Cup or Champions League if they're good enough).
Or even so-so female referees taking charge of lower professional league games.
But that should also apply to the female tournaments for excellent male referees as well. There are plenty of excellent male referees out there, as we see in the big tournaments. So why were they not invited to take part in this very important female tournament? [and I know loads of them would love to advance female football as well] They were clearly not barred because they sucked compared to female referees, given the standard I've been watching.
Everyone should be allowed to play football, male or female - but the referee should ideally be the best person for the job, no matter what sex they are; especially at the highest levels. And if that happens to be all men ... then well, that's what needs to happen at that particular moment in time.
The offside calls in this game (or lack thereof) were simply embarrassing - both assistant referees failed to call goals off for VERY clear offsides (unfortunately, one in each half benefitting Thailand both times and ensuring that Ivory Coast will [barring an amazing 8 - 0 victory against Norway] play no further part in this tournament).
This insistance on all-female referees actually demeans the sport of women's football.
Because the refereeing decisions I've seen turn it into a circus act, rather than a proper sport to be taken seriously. Almost like watching "wrestling" or something like that.
If they employed the best referees (currently male for the most part), it would actually add seriousness and gravitas to the female version of the sport. You would, perhaps, see the referee from the men's World Cup Final refereeing a round 1 game in the female version [and he would progress no further if he sucked]. That's a good way of showing equality between the two tournaments.
I'm not sure how referees are chosen - but surely there could be a referee academy, where the highest scoring graduates - male or female - get assigned to the best lower leagues (again male or female) and work their way up through performance.
That way, the best female referees would rise to the top and it wouldn't be an issue of gender at all. [and it isn't - there's no good reason at all why females and males shouldn't be equal when it comes to refereeing]
What we have in this video says it all:
Goal-line technology says correctly that the ball crossed the line - but a poor assistant referee allowed an offside player to head the ball in the first place. She shouldn't be "helping" any referee at this level.
We have this dichotemy between the will (which took years) for FIFA to implement a quick aid for the referee to avoid catastrophic decisions [goal-line tech] - and then an assistant ref who shouldn't be anywhere near football's highest level, but was selected purely because she was female, and makes catastrophic decisions that allow the goal to stand.
When you call something "The World Cup" - only the very best referees need apply.
That's not what I'm seeing here, and I am embarrassed for female football.
But I'll watch the rest of the tournament anyway.

Thailand were very lucky. The first and the third goals were surely off-side. Though, the first one was hard for the referee to see it.
Ok two of Thailand's goals were offside. But I guess the Ref doesn't give a crap and probably awarded it to Thailand because of Ivory Coast's dangerous play.
Very exciting match indeed. Both teams play hard but Ivory was too physical on the Thais causing several injuries. I see many people complained of offsides but we know refs are not perfect in any matches .. .Ivory C. played very physical game, deserved more fouls, that hurt several of Thai players. The giant player Josee Nahi should get a foul by the ref when she forcefully took the ball from a Thai defender (after her screaming) , and then Josee scored the 2nd goal.. Surely the Thai players should put double defenders on Josee and not letting her score that easy..

Who's hiring these officials? They clearly don't understand the offside rule. Even when it's as clear as Thailand's last 2 goals, they couldn't even get them right.
The highlight shows only the finishing moments, but if you watched the full match, you were seeing both teams have the advantages and disadvantages chances from referees. Moreover, if you don't have any biases, you were seeing Côte d’Ivoire players should have a yellow card or red card in many shots of the game, but referees just gave only one yellow card for Côte d’Ivoire players in the injury time of the second half. However to explain the whole conclusions of this match, in my opinion I think, i) this is a good game and both teams playing well, ii) referees lack the experiences and have a poor decision for both teams, iii) Thai's players got a very lucky, iv) Côte d’Ivoire players have a bad luck and bad finishing (they sent the ball hit the bar and the post many times, wtf), and then Thailand team win. This is football.

the quality of play is nothing compared to men. not even compared to u-15s. i think the us women actually lost to u-15's in a closed door match before. it kinda hurts to watch sometimes. us women at least play better.
Hamlet137475 I don't think so, the 2nd thai goal were not offside from the replay, ball dribble past the defence line before pass inside so it clearly legit goal, but the 1st was close and the 3 rd clearly offside. I think it is not fixing like you said, look at most woman WC games the quality of the ref. were poor so it just unlucky the woman ref need to be more improved.
