You forgot about a single type of sidekick -- the murder accusation & kidnapper magnet Maya Fey , the one who *causes* the hero to even *begin* his missions in this case.
An archetype I've found recently (especially in persona/smt) is the character that is added later in a new remaster of the game/story's narrative which provides a whole other perspective on the story as a whole while still integrating themselves properly. Kasumi, Kotone, Maruki and Yoko come to mind.

In my opinion spade doesn’t really fit with any but i could be missing something
@@MiniBinguss I think chopper is the only heart. Franky is jester brawn and Sanji is more like lancer. Zoro is the perfect squire for being the loyal sidequick
Ive actually realized that most of my charaters fall into sidekick categories rather than protag categories. But my current OC is somehow both the brawn and the brains. They only fill the roles if there is nobody around thats stonger than them or smarter than them. I wouldn't quite call them the lancer cause there is alrwady a "protag" and already a lancer in the group.
Somehow I have a feeling that Alador from Wolf Song The Movie would be classed as simultaneously the heart and the spade (wait did I just spoil the whole thing for everyone here)
For fun here are examples based on characters I thought up. Heart-Scrap-The talking monkey that in more ways than one is the heart of the group. He loves his friends and will do everything and anything in his power to help them. Lancer-Boss-The rival to the main character and while a jerk at first quickly grows to respect him. His group in general gets closer along the way and maybe even sees them as family along the way. Brains-Ned-A video game lover and a genius in terms of computers that is the surrogate son of a detective that's partners with a talking orangutan. A gentle soul that becomes more of a man after falling in love once or twice. Skeptic-Lorule-A royal advisor that is a genius and the mother of all introverts. He becomes a father like figure to the princess and seeks to help her in anyway. He doesn't always approve of her choices but he always approves of her. Ordinary-Common Man-The name says it all. A regular guy that wanted to be a superhero because he just wanted to make a difference. No powers but he's got heart and in the end is the one that defeats Dr. Crazy. (see villain video) Jestor-Johnny Halloween-A family man that joined a monster hunter after losing his family. His humor is raunchy much to the hero's annoyance but he always has his back and even pulls him out of tough situations. Spade-Mikey (got his name from Ninja Turtles) the funny guy that gives the hero someone to talk to and has a heart almost as big as him. But he unfortunately meets his end by the hands of the Dark Lord. He was talking too much. Squire-Polaris-The son of Star Queen (see hero video) & becomes her sidekick & loves her very much. While young his sense of justice is even greater than his mother and in his own time would become a great superhero as well. Brawn-Marceline (got her name from Adventure Time) A powerful vampire that finds a group of kids called the Monster Squad and joins. A mother figure that lets the kids make most of the decisions but will at times step in.
What about the mentor character? Their roll may is to guide the hero and give good advise, but don't need to die. Sometimes they do, but not always. From Nightwing's story perspective, Batman fills this role. For Creed it is Rocky Balboa. What happens to the mentor? Some die, some can't continue that life any more, some join on the adventure, others part ways for different reasons. An important aspect is that they are not the leaders of the groups. This may be due to a Prophecy about the Hero being a certain person, or they just know they are not suitable for it. At least, the hero is more suitable for the role.
My examples; Heart- Starfire (DC Comics) Lancer- Vegeta (Dragon Ball) Brain- Goombella (Paper Mario) Skeptic- North (Detroit Become Human) Ordinary- (I don't know...) Jester- Johnny Cage (Mortal Kombat) Spade- Dimitri Petrenko(Call of Duty Black Ops) Squire- Falcon (Marvel) Brawn- Johnny Gat (Saints Row)
First example of a "squire" that came to mind was Luke from Professor Layton series Spoilers to Unwound Future: . . . . . They even play around with the idea of a "corrupted squire" by turning his (ahem) "future self" into an antagonist near the end
I can see why you didn’t put him, because having two part one jojo characters as examples in one video might be a bit odd, but I feel like Will A. Zeppeli is an amazing example of a spade, he was literally told he was fated to die, and he gave Jonathan a power boost as he died

Great video 👍. Do you plan on making a video on types of worldbuilding or characters like types protagonists and antagonists? And by the way, about my villian I ask about for a game I dream on making. I plan on making his dynamic with it the heros like a man vs machine kind of dynamic based on the raise of A.I. Freedom vs Control,Chaos vs Order, Diversity vs Uniformity. Like having the villian using advanced weapons as apposed the heros using primitive tools like axes or slings.

I've always thought of Maya as Nick's Skeptic/Heart. Need I speak of the stepladder?

Good point

BT-7274 was one hell of a spade
brains = Garnet (from Steven Universe)
My favorite Brawn example is Amos Burton from The Expanse.
1:04 I think N from Murder Drones is that sidekick.
2:47, though there are exceptions to that. Spock’s primary function is as the brains and he’s canonically far stronger than a human being
2:50, and Hermione Granger and Jazz Fenton
Shit, not even my characters have a sidekick.
Thanks for the video data!
Glad to help!
