I could have gotten them last night at Haven, but passed as I already bought far too many sneakers this week. 5 in total: 2/3 2002R Protection pack, AJ1 low OG (golf version), and 3 sneakers from Adidas sale + Confirmed app wins.
It's a little funny how some people are critiquing this shoe to be too bland for a collab, but praise the "simplicity" of the Olive 990v3 JJJJound pair when it's just as bland, if not almost the same: olive colour palette, cream hit on the midsole, but black New Balance logo. For the record, I like both pairs - I'm just pointing out the double-standard.
I think this shade of Olive is really nice. Not a fan of the neon green hits and the speckled midsole. But Patta probably didn’t want to make an olive 990v3 the same year as Jjjjound. Have you gotten the YCMCs? Those are great in hand. Top 3 v3 this year imo
Thanks for your insight on this. Overall it gives a bland feeling. The neon hits meant to uplift the shoes but I find it distracting and out of place. Without the neon the shoe would just be like Frankenstein green nothing special but there are other colours that would have been more suitable to neon. Black/ white/ aged white or cream/ or different shades of green like protection pack rain cloud. The retail price doesn’t help too high. Preferably would have liked long hair suede. Great to hear your take on sizing across nb models- I needed that. If the jjjound green wasn’t released maybe this would have fared better. Comparatively I want the jound instead
Just a meh shoe……im probably going to hold my pair because i don’t have the Teddy’s-or JJJounds in Olive..:but still feels like a let down with the Patta Collab bar set so high.
So I’ve been wanting these for a year and just got the opportunity to get for under retail. Just not sure what size as I normally wear 10.5 but I bought Uk made 991s and 10.5 is too tight at toe. Should I stay true to size or go to 11? Thanks
Toss me in "why did they have to use neon?" camp. I don't mind bright colors at all and these definitely need a pop of color, but I feel they really missed a great opportunity for an awesome collab by going with the neon. I much prefer the olive leafs, they still have some color with the purple and orange hits while being wearable, but its not an eye-sore like i consider the neon green on these. You didn't have to go bright neon to be youthful lol
These just come in the mail today. Quality is not as good as the Olive Jjjjound 990s. Neon hits look weird too. Not bad but will probably sell these and keep the Jjjjounds.

Some people are wearing these shoes and are just sheep and don’t even understand the culture of new balance. It’s a vintage style classic shoe already and they’re bank on 90s colors which neon was a big hit.

these aren’t as snug as 991 so ur normal size should be fine
