Actually I've never watched the movie, but this song already made me cry without any reason;; but now that I've seen this emotional comment section, could you brief out what's so emotional about the movie??
I regret watching this movie, because no movie has ever left me feeling this way. I feel empty, heartbroken, and lost as if there’s something missing. This movie is a masterpiece and I can’t help but cry thinking about Elio and Oliver
i've been thinking about how this movie makes me feel but can't describe it. i feel the same as you after i watch the movie. it's been almost a year but everytime i heard this song somewhere else the feeling empty, heartbroken, and lost as if there’s something missing just pop up. that's weird
And I feel sad because... look at them. They have really strong feelings for each other and it is my biggest wish to have this kind of love. I feel happy and sad at the same time. But I don't regret anything
This song makes me nostalgic for a love that I never had and I place I never visited. It’s been 3 weeks and I cannot stop thinking about this movie it has left something in me that’s unexplainable.
I watched this at a friends house when I was drunk. I need to watch it again as I don't remember most of it. I remember that he cried though, and he never cries.
So what's interesting, is that I do past life readings. What my guides told me is that both Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer have a past life during WWII. Armie was a German and Timothee was Jewish. They had a 'forbidden' relationship because this was considered punishable by death at the time. Armie was male and Timothee was female, not that that matters, but what matters is they were able to recreate that love in this movie. Not only that, but for everyone to see so there's no shame. It's also a testament to the fact that love NEVER dies!
@@adagioelegy1949 you can say that Casey's performance was unmatched but no way you can say that Timothee didn't deserve to win. he did the job so beautifully.
So I was at an art museum when this statue reminded me of a scene in the trailer of CMBYN. I was listening to Mystery of Love last night and there were lyrics that said "Like Hephastion who died, Alexander's lover." So I did some research. Apparently, there are historians who believe Alexander the Great was in love with at least two men; one being Hephastion. I dug deeper and there was a person who mistaked Hephastion for Alexander and Hephastion said that he too, was Alexander. Which brings me back to the scene where Oliver tells Elio to "call me by your name and I'll call you by mine."
The entire cast was remarkably perfect in each of their roles. This is a movie you fall into, float around in, go deep, and don't want to come out again.
Well said. Better than well said. Ive seen it 25 times. The not wanting to come out. Wow so perfect. It makes me so happy to know the numbers of people that love this movie as much as I do I had no idea. Beautiful movie beautiful characters that can act

This song smells like lazy summer late afternoons in some place in north Italy, with the soft hint of fragrances of peaches and apricots. The blurry view of olives shrubs under the sun with the fresh smell of water sparkling in the horizon..
Charlotte D Calming but also stimulating & sensual if it makes sense. The scene's between those 2 were steaming but in a very sweet & innocent even way. Such a masterpiece.
Friendly update: Yes, almost a year after i first saw this masterpiece, i still watch the music videos and the movie is still there in my mind. This movie gets under your skin, almost literally. It really is one of the most beautiful movies i have ever seen, and it is also one of the movies of my freaking life. I swear...
This story is so universal that it doesn't matter if you are straight gay or anything else, you will feel bad, sad and you will cry seeing this movie. I think it makes people understand that love is love and that gay people love as straight people do, no differences. Two boys (or two girls) can make love, hope about being together all their life, can be silly and happy as fuck on the open air, can cry freely because one left, as much as a boy and a girl do in a relationship. What i find amazing about his movie is exactly this, everything looks normal and natural, not forced to prove a point, but still the message reaches everyone, because everyone knows that at least once in life will feel (or already felt) the same as Oliver and Elio did. Thank you Luca, Armie, Timothée, André and everyone that had their heart set to make this story so pure, i think that is what the world needed
I'm a straight girl and I cried. Mostly because of the speech of Elio's father. I think that's the beauty of the movie, a love story that will not last but will happen anyways, because the feelings should be felt, including pain.
@@yourboyfaiii4316 yeah fellas i didn't mean that you need to cry by all means if you watch this movie! in my life i cried watching movies that now really don't do anything for me but as i watched the ones that are part of my life and hold a piece of my heart i didn't cry. sometimes is just timing and context. i just wanted to say that this movie will make you something (feeling love, hoping for a different ending, etc) because the feelings portrayed are pure the magic of cinema i guess! ((ps i wanted to reply to the other person too bu idk how you mention ppl in comments @Kylie a!))
Call Me By Your Name signifies the highest love. A love built on the admiration for the one you love. A love so deep that you wish you were them. That you love and admire everything about them that you will take their name in honor of them. In the hetero culture, I believe women do this when they take their husband's last name with the honor of their love. But there is no higher form of flattery when Oliver desires to be called Elio because Elio is the kind of person he’d like to be. He loves him so much that he wants to be Elio and wants to feel what it’s like for Elio to call him and share his name. How deep a love.
i watched the movie on new years eve at 7pm and the first thing i did in 2018 was watch it again at 3am... i'm not joking, then i went home and watched it for the third time like 2 days later
This movie is so good, ive never watched a better romantic movie. Their love feels so authentic and real. I cried so hard felt so much while watching this...
TheTarantuRoach it was real and authentic i guess. It is just for some reason being far apart things may happen. I think there will be a movie coming after 3 years where Elio and Oliver will be reunited.
I come back here five years after watching that movie, and nothing, NOTHING has changed! I still love him, he still makes me happy, anxious, alive, feverish and dreamy.
Watching this film has made me realize how sporadic things are and how important it is to enjoy things in the moment. It is such a true and pure love story. Everyone should see this film, honestly.
Now, drag Sufjan to late night shows to perform Mystery of Love and Vision of Gideon. He needs a good campaign for the Oscar. He was robbed at Golden Globe!
Don’t worry about it. The Golden Globes noms are usually far different from the Oscars (remember, that U2 song beat Let It Go at the Globes in 2013, and look who ended up winning (also, Her’s The Moon Song managed to snag the Oscar nom while Please Mr. Kennedy undeservedly took its place at the Globes that same year)).
This song and this movie talk about a so deep connection between two human beings that, even when it ended and we were left in pieces, we feel grateful for having the opportunity of experiencing something so true. It makes me cry every time, also
You know what makes this movie special is the fact that it's relatable to everyone. Like gay or straight it really was crafted in a way that made it so relatable and it shows the devastating and all consuming affect of love. I cried for half an hour after and it was an honour to be so broken by this movie.
cokkiecraze I agree totally. Doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, married, single, young or old.. this movie struck a chord with all living Souls who have ever loved deeply.
this movie is proof that love is love, no matter what. no one has the right to tell you "what" love is, no one has the right to tell you "who" love is, and no one has the right to tell you that the love you feel is "wrong", because it's your job to find the meaning of love...that's the mystery.
I've never agreed more that's literally exactly what happened to me. I stayed up all night and watched this as the sun was rising, and just the way it was filmed and how seamless the acting was made it feel so real and raw and I need more. The soundtrack and the love between Elio and Oliver was just so special, and I've been thinking about the ending all day, it's really a masterpiece.
We watched Sufjan perform live in Toronto a decade ago, and it was the most beautiful, moving concert I’ve ever been to. I still listen to Sufjan to this day, and squee with excitement whenever a new song of his comes out.
Can't believe you guys are here!! Love you all even more because of this. This movie and sufjan's music for it were the most beautiful thing matched together.
@@hopelessromantic5586 ikr😭I bet even Armie would hate Oliver's character The way he was indifferent like wtf it was nothing for him, just a summer fling whereas it meant The WORLD for Elio
That's a pessimistic attitude towards "Find Me", but maybe pessimism is the best way to approach that film. In the meantime, Dune and The French Dispatch and the untitled Bob Dylan biopic will keep me going. (As well as Armie's Death on the Nile, etc.)
@@AgentAO7 I like Gods Own Country and its definitely a great movie. Captures that real feeling perfectly. But its no where near as powerful or moving as CMBYN imo. GOC captures these real emotions but CMBYN makes you feel them and stirs you in a beautiful way. Its intense and raw and everything about it (writing, casting, acting, soundtrack and timing) builds on everything else perfectly. It invokes feelings in a way almost nothing else can. It is literally (to me at least) the perfect movie.
This movie. It dares me to come back each day desiring to watch more things related to it. It transports me to my happy place but breaks my heart at the same time.I never thought that i could ever love a movie to this extent. But then again its not just a movie, its a beautiful piece that completes your maze of life.
Adelaide Mcmillan I'm sorry, i'm french and my english is very bad. I saw this movie five times. I cried too. Then, I read the book and... I agree,I agree with you, this book is devastating. I completely broke down in tears. I am no longer so young and a piece of my life is transposed in this book. I am still upset. It will mark me forever.
Glad I'm not the only late one 😂 I heard about it (of course I did! It was everywhere) all those years ago but have just never got around to it. I'd really like to read the novel first, though.
Why Am I a teenager in North of Italy but I'm not living this kind of love😭😭 I actually live by the Lake of Garda, where they go to find the statue underwater... *tregua?* Edit: I've found my summer fling , just like this movie🥺couldn't have been more happier
How does Sufjan Stevens produce such musical masterpieces time and time again!? Everything he touches seems to turn into gold. Thank you so much for this beauty.
You are so right ! CMBYN made me discover Sufjan Stevens huge talent and sensibility. I mean I'm in shock ! His Tonya Harding song is fantastic ! And, my god, he is dreamy, his green eyes facinate me.
I watched this film a few nights ago and it is literally all I have been able to think about since. It moved me beyond belief and this song as well as Visions of Gideon at the end completely enhanced the raw emotion throughout the whole film. Timothee grasped the obsessive, vulnerability of falling in love for the first time, while Armie showed how desperate Oliver was to be as carefree about it as Elio, but having something holding him back (probably his parents/societies disapproval). Acting was astonishing in this film, the music was perfect for it. I'm also 100% biased as I have been a diehard Sufjan fan for over 10 years now 😂 I thank the world for this film.
I watched this movie on a really long flight earlier this year....had no clue it was going to evoke such strong emotions from me. I uncontrollably sobbed so much I got weird looks from the people sitting around me. I then landed in a different country and had my own experience with a temporary lover who very well might be my soulmate. He moved on but I still like to watch this as it reminds me of us deeply in love with one another running through fields and forestry feeling the pure unadulterated joy of a child in one another's presence. I will love him forever, and I have this song to remind me of us.
I couldn't take it out of my mind for days! And every time I was thinking about it I'd cry! After a while I wasn't thinking about it that often and one day that I was cleaning the dishes the fucking radio start playing this song!! I'm a mess since that! This was when it was still 2017!!!!!!!
I CANT GO BACK TO MY NORMAL SELF I'VE CHANGED FOREVER. this movie hit so hard, i have these emotional breakdowns which isnt bad or good. like idk what to say i feel different, life seems different. everything is different...!
Damn, one the one hand, reading your comment makes me feel better (I watched the film last Saturday and still can't get out of this trance, was starting to worry thinking I was the only one) but on the other hand, how long will it last!?! :(
I’m thankful that I live in a time where beautiful books, films and music like everything related to CMBYN, with topics that are uncomfortable to some, are being appreciated and people are able to enjoy them openly. I pray that I will experience love as intimate and strong as the one between Elio and Oliver! Best of luck to the whole crew during the award season!
I'm not sure what Pancho means with his comment. In the story, the older guy Oliver doesn’t encourage the younger guy Elio in any way. He actually pushes him away. I however agree with SuperSonicCat1 that Armie doesn’t really look 24, which is how old Oliver is in the book.
Excerpt from the book (The conversation happens in the winter, after Oliver’s been home for months.): “I might be getting married this spring.” [Oliver] said. I was dumbfounded. “But you never said anything.” “Well, it’s been on and off for more than two years.” That’s regarding Oliver having a girlfriend at the time he was with Elio. And I’m not sure they are putting emphasis on anyone’s age. Did the characters even have a line where they stated how old they are? I don’t recall such moment. But even if they do, I feel like people are the ones to concentrate on age in their heads, mostly because they cannot put aside the knowledge that Armie Hammer is older in real life. But everyone’s free to have an opinion, so I respect yours. I will just continue to enjoy this story.
I know, I've seen it twice now (going for a third in a couple days), and my one problem with the movie is that the shots/scenes AREN'T LONG ENOUGH. I just want to stare at everyone and everything in the movie for a long time.
This song makes me feel peace and serenity but also an odd urge to disappear or cry. Idk, it's not even the style of music I usually listen to, but I rly love how it makes me feel
This song makes me feel so bittersweet, I start crying every time. It reminds me so much of my first and only love. She ended up with a man, but she taught me what love was meant to be. I miss her all the time. She's still my closest friend but there's always our past looming in the air. This book got me right where it hurts. I've never connected to a piece of literature more.
I relate to this deeply, all of it mirrors my experience. It just never fully heals when you connect with someone on such a pure level and love them unconditionally. Puts into pespective why this story hit me so hard.
You're very young and gorgeous, you'll have many other women. I didn't believe I would have this love again till I met an other guy who was wonderful. You'll know it again don't worry. :*
Grace Whaley your story remind me of my own. A love one. A friend. Had sex had sad. Had waited. But never get together again :) i think i will never found someone like that again. But i do hope it ended well for you :).
I rewatched this yesterday and it felt so good at first, but after I finished it I was like, "why do I do this to myself? ". Its so good that every time I watch this it leaves me feeling empty, sad and so broken.
the amount of beauty this movie captured is an amount that can be caught in the greatest and purest moments in life. through all the moments of terrible heartbreak and realization coming into one, reminding Elio who he is and that Oliver was there for a reason. that reason was not just he was there to be your lover, but as your guide, a perspective you never knew you had. in every way possible this movie is one of the most beautiful things i have ever watched and seen. i hope our future people can take a look at this movie and realize life is really beautiful.
This song takes me back to the summer when I was 22 years old and in love......some have never experienced "love" but I have and hope one day you will too... Be encouraged!
Yess, I keep doing the same. It's been days since I watched it yet i keep watching CMBYN videos and I end up getting even more depressed....it's like a drug. I defintley want to read the book too.
This movie has left me all heartbroken and I'm a happily married woman...Discovering Armie's major scandal last month even made me more heartbroken bc we might not even see a sequel to this movie.
Agree. I developed a huge crush on Armie after watching this beautiful movie; hopeful there would be a sequel for Elio and Oliver to reconnect Now the crush is tarnished and the hope is dashef
My fiancé and I watched this and loved it so much. He told me that there would be a sequel but I told him there never would be one because of what kind of person Armie hammer was and what he did. Forever wishing they casted someone else 😔
Is there an audiobook read by him * o *)! where??? xD The book is so good, I'm so depressed but happy that the movie exists bc thanks to that I knew about the book. I love everything about this story. I've been crying a lot lately T-T Every time I remember the Monet's Berm part.... or when Oliver was sitting on the rock, Elio was wondering where he was and finally spotted him there... and what they talked there... T-T the days in Rome... The very final part.... Ghost Spots... TT-TT EVERYONE MUST READ the book, there's all the details you can understand a lot more better everything happening in the movie especially when Elio sniff Oliver's trunks xD in the movie they made it a bit weird haha xDDD
Vasallo yes there is it you have audioble its there or just search up the book on UA-cam. The only problems is that it cuts of the very last part. But it has the full thing there

It has now been four years since I seen this movie and I cry whenever I hear this song! The feeling I felt when I first saw this movie hasn't gone away. To be honest I never want it to!
I CANT get over this movie at all. It wasn’t what I was expecting, it was something so much deeper. UUGHXBDJDBDH its changed so many things for me. I feel like im trying to get over a break up, and its useless and pointless and Im going to be stuck with this deep sadness in my heart. All I can do is ‘SSSSIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHH’
It's because it's not something tragic ( like a death of a protagonist) or something overly dramatic about it. It's just the *love* that touched us! This pure and simple love! And it's hopeful because one day we also might find that and oh boy , how lucky would we be!!
Josh Bishop you’re totally right. I feel the same feeling, and that’s horrible. I mean this movie is wonderful, maybe a masterpiece. But what it did to me, it’s strange. Since I saw it, I’m totally confused. I just baring my soul as a preface... the movie did that. I can’t stop cried.. maybe it’s a good thing ? Anyway that movie deserve so much ! It’s the new Titanic of the 21 century I swear !
THIS IS SO ME, like when people were talking about it I thought would be one more gay porn type of movie, and then POW, I can't stop to feel sad when I think of it, I am just so connected to it I can't
I've seen this movie five times in different theatres, every single time I cried. I try to stay away from Sufjan's songs because whenever I start to hear Mystery of Love or Visions of Gideon I start to tear up in public, no matter where I'm at. Like Elio says it himself, "I'm a mess". This movie is a complete masterpiece!
The beauty of this album by Sufjan Stevens is how it traverses the entire arc of the relationship shared by Elio and Oliver. Mystery of Love opens with "The First time that you kissed me" and Visions of Gideon ends with "And I have kissed you for the last time" . The connection established over here reflects the journey that they had. I doubt if this is a coincidence. Rather, it is certainly not.
i know this was a few weeks ago but strangely...listened to it for a second time this week and heard the lyrics 'Alexander's Lover' ..which yet again struck a nostalgic past life feel. there is a lot of coincidences with me and the history of Alexander the Great. wonder if that's whom Sufjan is singing about in a roundabout beginning of time sort of way? idk but all I know is that this song sparks a past life regression of some sort. yet the state of our world right now... everything is connected and coming to a finality anyhow. awesome.
sergio vela yes Sergio....it's a rare, yet undeniable feeling of remembrance that strikes the core of your soul. never know what will trigger it, but when it is triggered, a distant fondness that one cannot pin point activates something inside yourself that you know connects your soul to the beginning.
This movie gave me a feeling that i can never explained. It's like warm and full of serenity but it's also like loneliness and heartbreak. I can't forget this movie…

The father was a perfect mixture of Robin Williams and Joaquin Phoenix.
It's a movie about white gay boys. When are we going to finally see a gay film that addresses the racism in the gay community? Gay men complained in the past that 99.9% of films made are about straight people. Now 99.9% of all gay movies are about white gay people. It's pretty hypocritical.
@@markabdon1602 so essentially, they never get back together and Elio never gets married to anyone, they only visit each other twice, one being during Christmas time and the other being about 30 years later. Oliver gets married and has two children
I was feeling so sad and down constantly having manic attacks, then I’d watch this movie and just feel like all my problems went away. Most LGBT films make it a problem or forbidden or a coming of age story, but this movie makes it normalized and you don’t even think about it. Beautiful scenery, beautiful actors, and amazing acting. I can’t think of a single thing wrong with this film. Truly perfect.
it is both delightful and devastating beyond measure that only some of us - the lucky ones - will experience this type of burning desire and mutual attraction, while the most of us won't even get a tiny part of the love we hope for and deserve.
You know. I met a girl. About three to four years ago. We were complete opposites and honestly didn’t belong with one another. But her impact on my life was so deep it still haunts me to this day. She took me to watch this movie on Valentine’s Day…after the movie was done I sat in silence and didn’t really know how to feel. I wasn’t mature enough at the time to process. I was very broken at the time and I didn’t even know. If you ever come across this AM; thank you. You changed my life. I’m sorry I hurt you.. I didn’t mean to and I regret it everyday.

Friendly update: Yes, almost a year after i first saw this masterpiece, i still watch the music videos and the movie is still there in my mind. This movie gets under your skin, almost literally. It really is one of the most beautiful movies i have ever seen, and it is also one of the movies of my freaking life. I swear...
so true
What other movies do you recommend?
This movie is a masterpiece
Marianne mOntAGe oF HeCK this is a VERY different movie, but I would recommend Moonlight as another beautiful story of vulnerable love and emotion. ❤️
@@mugensgeta1125 Haha thx for the recommandation, but I've already seen moolight !! didn't move me as much as CMBYN tho...
Thank you Luca, Armie, Timothée, André and everyone that had their heart set to make this story so pure, i think that is what the world needed
i didn’t cry but i still feel that i need my happy ending
I'm gay and didn't cry but I feel the love tho hahaha still waiting for next movie❤️
I'm a straight girl and I cried. Mostly because of the speech of Elio's father. I think that's the beauty of the movie, a love story that will not last but will happen anyways, because the feelings should be felt, including pain.
@@yourboyfaiii4316 yeah fellas i didn't mean that you need to cry by all means if you watch this movie! in my life i cried watching movies that now really don't do anything for me but as i watched the ones that are part of my life and hold a piece of my heart i didn't cry. sometimes is just timing and context.
i just wanted to say that this movie will make you something (feeling love, hoping for a different ending, etc) because the feelings portrayed are pure
the magic of cinema i guess!
((ps i wanted to reply to the other person too bu idk how you mention ppl in comments @Kylie a!))
"Oliver, why are you engaged in spring"
"Because summer is used to miss you, elio."
I have watched this movie so many times because I love it so much and I have never noticed this quote. Was this said during their phone conversation?
Call Me By Your Name signifies the highest love. A love built on the admiration for the one you love. A love so deep that you wish you were them. That you love and admire everything about them that you will take their name in honor of them. In the hetero culture, I believe women do this when they take their husband's last name with the honor of their love. But there is no higher form of flattery when Oliver desires to be called Elio because Elio is the kind of person he’d like to be. He loves him so much that he wants to be Elio and wants to feel what it’s like for Elio to call him and share his name. How deep a love.
When they call each other by each others names, it signifies that they have become one; the deepest love.
You put it into words!
Your comment made me cry

Now, drag Sufjan to late night shows to perform Mystery of Love and Vision of Gideon. He needs a good campaign for the Oscar. He was robbed at Golden Globe!
Wahid Rahman I couldn’t believe this song wasn’t nominated
YES ! !
It wouldn't be Golden Globes if there's not a snoob.

This could be the trailer.
The most beautiful song I’ve ever heard and will ever hear in my lifetime.
this movie is proof that love is love, no matter what. no one has the right to tell you "what" love is, no one has the right to tell you "who" love is, and no one has the right to tell you that the love you feel is "wrong", because it's your job to find the meaning of love...that's the mystery.

I've never agreed more that's literally exactly what happened to me.

God’s Own Country is just as good imo..
@@AgentAO7 I like Gods Own Country and its definitely a great movie. Captures that real feeling perfectly. But its no where near as powerful or moving as CMBYN imo. GOC captures these real emotions but CMBYN makes you feel them and stirs you in a beautiful way. It is literally (to me at least) the perfect movie.

I'm also 100% biased as I have been a diehard Sufjan fan for over 10 years now 😂
I thank the world for this film.
Such a good explanation of character
I watched this movie on a really long flight earlier this year....had no clue it was going to evoke such strong emotions from me. I uncontrollably sobbed so much I got weird looks from the people sitting around me. I then landed in a different country and had my own experience with a temporary lover who very well might be my soulmate. He moved on but I still like to watch this as it reminds me of us deeply in love with one another running through fields and forestry feeling the pure unadulterated joy of a child in one another's presence. I will love him forever, and I have this song to remind me of us.
I understand completely.💔

Hi Erik, how do you do?
OMG it's so gross
I’m thankful that I live in a time where beautiful books, films and music like everything related to CMBYN, with topics that are uncomfortable to some, are being appreciated and people are able to enjoy them openly.
I pray that I will experience love as intimate and strong as the one between Elio and Oliver!
Best of luck to the whole crew during the award season!
well go find urself a 17 yr old boy to groom !
pancho del ocho It’s not grooming if they’re not minors and both consent, although I agree that Armie doesn’t look the age of the character he plays.
Such a beautiful comment and I will pray for that too.
Excerpt from the book (The conversation happens in the winter, after Oliver’s been home for months.):
“I might be getting married this spring.” [Oliver] said. I was dumbfounded. “But you never said anything.” “Well, it’s been on and off for more than two years.”
That’s regarding Oliver having a girlfriend at the time he was with Elio.
I will just continue to enjoy this story.
man every shot of this Movie is like piece of art
I know, I've seen it twice now (going for a third in a couple days), and my one problem with the movie is that the shots/scenes AREN'T LONG ENOUGH. I just want to stare at everyone and everything in the movie for a long time.

the amount of beauty this movie captured is an amount that can be caught in the greatest and purest moments in life. through all the moments of terrible heartbreak and realization coming into one, reminding Elio who he is and that Oliver was there for a reason. that reason was not just he was there to be your lover, but as your guide, a perspective you never knew you had. in every way possible this movie is one of the most beautiful things i have ever watched and seen. i hope our future people can take a look at this movie and realize life is really beautiful.

It's because it's not something tragic ( like a death of a protagonist) or something overly dramatic about it. It's just the *love* that touched us! This pure and simple love! And it's hopeful because one day we also might find that and oh boy , how lucky would we be!!

Have you read the book
Same!
Some kind of nostalgia I've never experienced.
M Villarreal WOAH. Me too...makes me wonder why I felt the same way stumbling across this.
Same. Very few stories have Made me feel this way
ME TOO IT MAKES ME TEAR FOR NO REASON
i know this was a few weeks ago but strangely...listened to it for a second time this week and heard the lyrics 'Alexander's Lover' ..which yet again struck a nostalgic past life feel. there is a lot of coincidences with me and the history of Alexander the Great. wonder if that's whom Sufjan is singing about in a roundabout beginning of time sort of way? idk but all I know is that this song sparks a past life regression of some sort. yet the state of our world right now... everything is connected and coming to a finality anyhow. awesome.
sergio vela yes Sergio....it's a rare, yet undeniable feeling of remembrance that strikes the core of your soul. never know what will trigger it, but when it is triggered, a distant fondness that one cannot pin point activates something inside yourself that you know connects your soul to the beginning.
My heart...its so hard to watch It without that weird feeling in your stomach

This movie gave me a feeling that i can never explained. It's like warm and full of serenity but it's also like loneliness and heartbreak. I can't forget this movie…
The father was a perfect mixture of Robin Williams and Joaquin Phoenix.
Sara Criado exactly
He found he needed the iced tea.
Agreed
😭 he reminds me of my dad so much
I dont think I will ever watch a movie as good, as strong, as... as everything as this one. I just can't get over it
‘God’s Own Country’ is just as good imo..
Yeah i thought it was only me🤦🏿♂️i dont wanna feel that energy its too much for me i stop watchin movie after this masterpiece
@@AgentAO7 Not even close lol
There is beauty in growth based upon the sadness of loss--if you want it.
the song is really good, and match perfect with the film!
Was made BEFORE the film was shot, thus "drove" in certain way the film, as per Guadagnino words.

It's a movie about white gay boys. When are we going to finally see a gay film that addresses the racism in the gay community? Gay men complained in the past that 99.9% of films made are about straight people. Now 99.9% of all gay movies are about white gay people. It's pretty hypocritical.
lol! You sound like you're in junior high! don't like it? don't see it! Problem solved danielleaparis!
did you happen to see last years film "Moonlight" that won Best Picture at the Oscars??
I will never get tired of this movie and everything about it.
HOW DID THIS SONG NOT WIN THE OSCAR?!?!
The book hurt me more because it's describing everything, sad asf. It even goes into detail about the ending
Me too, I read the book 2 weeks ago and I could not function after the ending. I literally stared in space for 30 mins

Tell me, bcoz its noy available in my country The Philippines
Do you like brokeback mountain?
brokeback mountain sucks compared to cmbyn
Just watched the movie and I absolutely broke down in tears when this song came on. It’s so beautiful.
Best movie of the year tbh
Josh Saaga Lady Bird exists
Dean either way Timothy chalamet wins
Josh Saaga agree with that tho
True
Call Me By Your Name and The Shape of Water both left deep impressions on me. I hope they both get the recognition they deserve
it is both delightful and devastating beyond measure that only some of us - the lucky ones - will experience this type of burning desire and mutual attraction, while the most of us won't even get a tiny part of the love we hope for and deserve.
lorcldia Incels, you mean?
^ lmao no. he meant true love.
True. Maybe it’s why I cried
This film touched me on a level few have ever before. I lived it in 1982 almost exactly. The music was a big part of what made it so magical for me.
You're very lucky to have experienced such love.
Im so sorry for both of you
Just tell her yourself. Life is too short
try
It was me you hurt. I can’t believe you regret it!
Because of the movie and the soundtrack by Sufjan Stevens.. i am officially gay and depressed.
same

Me too
Same.
Dickon Ohmie Is the movie that sad??? I'm planning to watch it...
Elio elio elio elio.....Oliver.... I remember everything.
What a scene
On this part I just want to say.. Why...!
It’ll kill me if you stop.
that scene makes my heart ache in the best possible way
❤❤❤
This is so sacred to me. This story. This film. This music. I will cherish and treasure it in my heart for the rest of my life.
the soundtrack, the actors, the location, the plot. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE IS JUST SO PERFECT 😩
