I love finding Ball/Mason jar lids. Great indicator that the site may be old and possibly not detected before. You killed it on the coins! Old pennies and even silver. Thanks for taking us on your adventure and sharing what you have found. 😀
The spoon handle is from a toy spoon that would have been part of a table place setting, spoon, knife, fork, plate, saucer, and cup. Very cool finds overall. Be sure to keep going back to the property until you don't find anything more. I've hunted some properties 6 or 8 times.
Gin, you. must be a numismatist… Your comments about the coins you find lead me to believe you are a coin collector, like myself. Really fun watching your content. Thanx! Come back to our Gulf Shores/Orange Beach beaches and find more loot the vacationers leave behind!
It’s funny because I inherited a nice coin collection from my grandpa, but never paid it much attention. Once I started Metal detecting I fell in love with finding coins; the thrill of actually finding them myself I think. I still don’t know a lot about which ones are rare, but I’m slowly learning. Metal detecting has turned me into a collector.🙂. I am yearning for the beaches something terrible and scheming on another trip down to the gulf asap.🍀
"That was the year I graduated from High School!" That was so precious. Loved this video!
I know you call yourself lucky, but the folks who get to hang with you are truly lucky. What a wonderful person you are.
Glad to see I am not the only one who finds stubborn soil to work in. Also laughed out loud when you tested the pinpointer on the digger and realized it was turned off. If I only had a crusty zinc for everytime I have done that. 🙂 Awesome finds. One of our ladies at church who is about 90 lives in her familys early 1900's farmstead house with 2 barns I may have to convince her to allow me to detect there.
You are a few cents richer monetarily but the experience makes it priceless. Wonderful video young lady.
Thanks so much, David. 100% agree with you that the thrill is in the experience itself.🙂🍀
I'm jealous, 4yrs of metal detecting, and haven't dug up a single merc! Way to go Gin. Congratulations. And great video!!!
Awwww, what a bummer John. I hope you get one soon!🍀🍀🍀
“It popped my clump”! 😄 👍
You must be a tiny feller, those coins look huge in your hands 🙌 awesome finds
Haha, I am indeed quite petite.🙂
Great finds so awesome finding all the different Wheaties
Love the mercurys when they pop out.
Absolutely!🤩
Yeah they work better when turned on 😄
Nice hunt! Not so nice soil!
Its awesome that folks gave you permission to hunt on that old property. But then again who could ever tell you no? 😂
I find a lot of old coins in New England.
Mostly the Berkshires.
Love your channel. 👍👍👍
Now that's a lot of coins. Great day with that Merc.
I redid my sewer lines in my house. I was digging a new trench for new routing, I found a tunnel made of brick coming into the basement, it comes in on an angle and is big enough for a human to walk through
Sounds like underground railroad, what part of the country are you in? Indiana, Ohio?
@@bengullett2837 Wellington, Ohio. Our Village has a network as I learned later. Homes in my area of the Village has the Underground Railroad. Then they would make it to Lake Erie, then across to Canada
@@bengullett2837 Watching Lucky Gin made me after 58 years to try metal detecting. My spare time I let's the beeps beep
I saw you smile when you found that first penny and I knew you were thinking about me I have to tell you that you are very contagious
Ground is hard, don’t hurt yourself, bundle of joy great job , you are so refreshing, I’m sure you have days of trial and error, we all do, other words , digging trash is a big part of detecting, hey darling keep smiling your good for the soul
As always, a 👍up to you. Good haul with the coins; love your mercury dimes, they just look so cool. Have a good day!
Congratulations Lucky Gin, Wheaties are the breakfast of champions! happy hunting!!!!
Looks like you're having fun out there!
What great hunt Gin you had some nice finds 'you had silver awesome.an good Luck to you.
Wow, u no what it’s the place you don’t think to check, my dear no matter how big a yard is check it, great job
Great work. Those pennies add up over time. Nice Merc as well. Wyoming is a beautiful place.
I suspect finding coins may thrill me more than it does other people. What can I say. That merc really thrilled me!🙂
Back in the 70s was metal detecting downtown phoenix, corners, found lot of silver coins and bunch of tramway tokens
Very cool, Robert.🙂
Great hunt! Congrats on the nice Merc!
I always look for the older trees when I coin hunt. Favorite place to sit and play in the summer time
I can usually always tell if it’s silver or not since newer coins look more dirty. You should never rub a silver one but wait and wash it under water. The rubbing it will leave micro scratches and severely devalue a rare coin. Also if I get permission to hunt a manicured lawn I wait until after a good rain so the digging is much easier and the holes will cutout cleaner. Congratulations on your nice finds!
hard dry soil will sure make you keep an ice pick and flat screw driver handy can't beat them to probe and extract in that hard mess.
I think I needed a jackhammer.😂
Great hunt Gin. Looks they need some rain!! ✌
Excellent hunt pretty Lady, very nice Mercury Dime congrats on finding your first Merc...Have a great 4th of July weekend Gin.....Papa Mark wishes you the best...
Thanks ever so much Papa Mark! You are most kind. Happy Independence Day to you!💖🍀
Well done Gin!!!!!!!
I love all the coins 🥰🥰🥰 🍀Gin 😌
Nice haul, good permission! And your first Mercury, how cool!! Looks like you are having a blast on your tour. Be safe!
Like your explanation of. What you are doing..Awesome for people curious metal detecting.
Wowwie !! So happy for you Gin, yard had some goodies for you. Hope you're on a roll from here on ! 👍🤠
Just bought "your" finders bag, very nice! Just wish the belt wasn't so expensive......
The copper football was popular in the 50's and 60's on a necklace as well as charm bracelets.
Very cool - I appreciate you sharing that info.🙂
Excellent finds Gin! Congratulations on the mercury dime! I was grinning right along with you! LOVE this channel! Thank you for just being you!
The soil conditions remind me of the Colorado curb strip dig. Here is a strategy that you may find fruitful. When the metal detector indicates a penny, I don't dig it. I focus my digging on silver when detecting on land. This allows me to cover a lot of ground and achieve a high treasure to trash ratio. Since I've been metal detecting for over a decade, I already have a pile of Wheaties and Indian heads. However, I dig nickles and gold, which often turn out to be pull tabs. Congratulations on the finds, especially the Rosevelt and Mercury dimes. By the way, what happened to the wind and rain that give your digs atmosphere?
Gin,last week I found a standing liberty quarter in pocket change. Yes it is silver. Wow you can still find old silver 🥈 coins in pocket change.
That’s really cool! Didn’t even have to dig for that one.🙌🍀
Pretty good day after all with some cool finds.
My only regret was that I didn’t have more time to hunt that day. It was a fantastic location and there was a lot of ground I didn’t get to detect.
Enjoyed the video good to see some nice finds coming out
Thank you. The trip west really added so many cool finds to my collection. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to do that trip.🙂🍀
GIN !!! Check that penney... 1909 ...
If it has "S" mintmark on the front, turn it over & look for "VDB" initials, on the reverse side,
bottom-center..on the reverse side, Gin.
All that sure is a pretty cabin that's for sure
No matter what you find its still not as good as me finding your channel ! your pure gold Gin !!!
Great job Gin.
Awesome hunt, Gin! Finding mason jar lids always got my heart racing!! Congrats on the silvers!!
Great finds. The football looks more like a fob may be from a watch or key chain than a charm from a bracelet. May be from that lost key you found?
Good hunt there gppd luck on the next 🍀👍
Awesome you found some silver. I love watching your videos. Hope you strike it rich sometime.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you popping by with those good vibes.🙂💖🍀
Very cool hunt Gin, with some nice finds the 54 dime is the year I was born added a like and FB share cheers.
You are the best, Tom. Two silvers in one hunt - I scored!🙌
@@LuckyGin Thanks Gin
Hello Gin. Catching up on your videos. Congrats on the silver finds and the wheaties. You really had to work hard for these finds. Take care.
Hello Gin my goodness you had to work hard but what wonderful finds you had take care and stay safe👍👍👍
Awesome Gin!!! I knew you'd score something rare in a 100 year old yard. Those 2 silver dimes & the wheaties, likely dropped many many years ago. Many more treasures out there to be found!!
Oh and congratulations on the silver coins good job
Thanks Gin your videos always make my day you are so bubbly and stunning to see. I'm so happy for what was a great hunt for you. It seems you are having a great road trip. I'm so happy for you.
I just bought a Bounty Hunter 4 metal detector This looks fun. Thanks for the videos
Subbed here from the UK, Good luck for future hunting.😊
It looked very warm there but apparently it wasn't. Glad to experience your first mercury head dime with you. Never anything like the first. Wonderful to to see you.
Awesome dig. Love finding silver
Thanks so much, Michael.🙂🍀
Fantastic video Gin! congrats on your finds, especially the Mercury dime!
A penny dug is a penny earned! Great hunt and nice silvers! Maybe a bigger serrated shovel would have helped dig faster and bigger plug.
Great video congrats on the merc happy hunting And thanks for sharing 👍
My old farm at the bottom of Columbia hill road outside of Monterey Tennessee was built around 1900 but was built over top of and old cabin built in the early 1800s it had a giant log barn where the front yard is what a place to look for old stuff I was always finding mule and horse shoes I bet the new owners would let you search their.
Thanks for cutting smaller plugs
See my other comments... Because, if that coin HAS those initials, "VDB" (the designer's), and was minted in San Francisco in 1909... Then it's a rare coin, potentially worth $$$Thousands$$$ or at least $Hundreds$. Worth a closer look.
--- Doug. (Great vid, well done)...
Nice hunt Gin! Congrats on your first Merc 🍀🍻
What a great hunt and awesome finds!! Luv the wheaties and the 2 silver dimes!!
its been awhile since I last seen you. Your looking great, and keep finding those silvers , you deserve to !
Awww, thanks Randal. I think for some reason the UA-cam algorithm has changed. I should have a bunch of new videos over the next 3 weeks.🙂
About 20 miles to my NW around Flag Spring north of Boise City, Oklahoma lies the yet undiscovered Lost Frenchman's Gold, some 3600 pounds of gold. I see a problem with finding it where a lot of land scraping went on by the land owner, it's almost at the level of the Cimarron River. Being so low meant all around the land is higher and literally 360 degrees around so anyone, especially the Indian, could have watched over where they've been looking for it. Another problem is digging a hole big enough to hide that much gold without leaving a trace. Where the scraping was done is very close to where Flag Spring Creek meets the Cimarron River. There's no way to have hidden where this gold was buried on the virgin prairie but there is the Cimarron. More likely these 7 pound gold bars would have buried themselves within the cut banks of the River itself where the water table would be at river level. Drop the bars in areas of quicksand and there would be no trace. Where this scraping went on is several miles from Flag Spring itself and the legend never mentions Flag Spring Creek. The Santa Fe Trail literally went to Flag Spring and a good sized playa lake is also nearby.
The outlaw William Coe supposedly buried $100,000 in gold near Flag Spring as well. None of this gold has ever been reported as found.
Way to go, Gin. Nice coin finds. Keep up the good work. You just never do know what will pop up.
Nice permission for sure ! You'll never get tired of digging those
" winged liberty" dimes ..congrats on getting your first !!!🍻
Thank you, Gregory. You are definitely right about finding those mercs - I love finding coins.🙂
Great episode. Love the Mercury, I still haven't found one. lol. Those mason jar lids always get my heart beating a little faster.
Awww, I hope you get one soon Matthew. 🍀 It made my day when I saw what was in my hand.
Awesome hunt! Congrats on the 2 silver dimes, especially the Mercury!!!!
Thank you.🙂 That was my first mercury and the first time getting two silvers in one hunt.🥳🍀
Congratulations on the awesome hunt. Wheats and Silver. WTG.👍✌️
Love your videos! Happy hunting - Ro
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you popping by!🙌🙂🍀
Gin, look for the mint marks on the wheat back pennies. Some of them are worth some money.
Thanks for the tip. I will check these out closer.🙂
Awesome stuff silver fever is good happy treasure seeking 💰
Great dig. Love your videos. That's awesome that you found the mercury dime. 😁♥️
I should run my metal detecting in that dirt part of basement. The tunnel was used for the Underground Railroad here in Wellington,Ohio
Holy smoke, that sounds very cool! Maybe you will find something epic!🍀🍀🍀
Another good hunt for you, congrats on the mercury dime. Always like finding those.
Gin, you make finding pennies fun. I have a house from 1842. I detected around property. Found a brass soap dish(1890s?). Pennies, etc. Keep up the good work.
It sounds like you’ve got a great spot to hunt. Maybe after a good rain when the ground is wet, you can pick up some deeper signals.🙂
Nice hunt Gin man that ground was tough but you got it done Wheaties, silver and a bunch of pennies take Care Gin and be safe 👍 😀
Congrats on the Merc !
Thanks so much, David!🙌🙂
If you don't already have one, invest in a Sampson T handle shovel. They cut better plugs & much easier for you.
Be well,
Al-Fu
Nice hunt.. I've actually also dug a charm🏈
Was yours like this one too?
Should explain more about what detector you are using and what the numbers mean. There are a lot of green/new peeps 👍
You are right about that, Chris. I’m trying to do more of that while also keeping it interesting.🍀
I can't really explain why I'm entertained but this looks like fun. Any suggestions on a good beginner detector?
awesome hunt. I don't use a magnifying glass in field but I can see really good detail with my cell phone camera. Sometimes even better. Congrats on your first Merc. That's the first of many more to come. Have fun on your trip. We need rain here in east Tennessee to make digging easier. Look forward to your next video.
Thank you, Randy. I’m actually back home now but still sharing videos from my hunts out west. It looks like we’ll finally start getting some rain over the next few days. We sure need it - the creek at my house has gone bone dry.
I made a tool that cuts a perfect plug. A 4" piece of ABS pipe, sharpened and a thicker piece glued on top. I was thinking to drill 2 holes and add a rope to steady it for the plunge. Wouldn't work on hard ground but works great.
Wow, that looked like a lot of work digging in that hard ground! Just starting out myself, congrats on the Mercury Dime!
Thank you, Ed. It seems like 75% of the ground I hunt is hard. Lol….part of why I love beach hunting so much.🙂. Good luck as you get your adventures started!🍀
I loved that mercury dime. What is the oldest coin you have found?
Double silver your on a roll. Knuckle bumps to you.
I always put a towel down to put the dirt on
That’s a good idea!
So Lucky w/ permissions . Great finds too, but I know that early morning anticipation way down deep was pretty strong. I have family property up in NC that is late 1700's and in 1860(civil war) my G-G-G Grand dad was a wheelwright there. much of the place still has evidence of that period. BUT (said all that to say this) they wont let any of us dig there now. The current family now residing on the prop. had the historic soc. list it and now its hard. (shhh, don't say i told you but i still go there hehehe)anyway i'll see what i can do. Much Luck and Love ~B
Hey Gin, I haven't seen any of you videos for a while, and of course your still as good lookin as always in your jeans and boots!! Congrats on your 1st mercury dime!! Keep up your good lucky charms!!
Hi James! It’s nice to see you drop by. Thanks for the good vibes and the visit.🤗💖🍀
Nice permission Gin-Congrats on your finds, ATB PullTab
