  • Having logged copious time in the digital game Slay the Spire, let's turn our attention away from the monitors and into real life to see how it translates to the table.

Your review prompted me to check, and I discovered I have the video game (on Steam). I guess I will play that first, and defer getting the boardgame, pending my reaction to the video game.

Heya, Mike. Yeah, try the video game first. It's a fraction of the cost, and you'll know wheter it's up yer ally or not.
Hope you're well. Nice batch of weather lately, I like the sun. :)

For some reason I had no interest in the digital or board game version. The game does look very beautiful and appears to have alot of content. Thanks for the overview.
I'm noticing more video games converting to board game format. There wasn't many games that appealed in 2024 as I felt many games were rehashed of previous games. Have we reached a peak in board game ingenuity?
As always, great presentation. Are there currnetly any games your looking forward to in the coming month?

Heya heya. Yeah, understand. If Slay the Spire video wasn't compelling, this won't change your mind.
It's interesting seeing more video game crossover to board games, I agree there's been an uptick. Quality wise, still hit or miss, but at least some hits in between the misses. :)
As for current games, I just got in I, Napoleon from GMT. That looks very unusual for GMT offering, a one person narrative game where you reenact the life of Napoleon. I'll be hitting that next (after I finish my star wars: Outer Rim game that's currently taking the table space.
Looking forward, man... I'm not sure. I need to get back into the news and see what's on the near horizon. Most of the new stuff starts arriving in oct-dec...
      Take care!

Great deep dive into this one, Tim! Yeah I’ve had the digital version for a few years and love it. If I had the extra moolah, perhaps I’d get this very nice looking production. Thanks Tim!

Heya Tom! Hope you're well. Thanks for the comment, man. What are you playing lately? (Or is it baseball season. :) )

@@hairbrainedgames3127 - Baseball never seems to rest! But actually I’m playing a Games Workshop game lately called Warcry. It’s a small scale miniatures game skirmish style. I was playing this before I ventured into the world of Conflict Simulations. You have to build and paint models. Takes some time but I dig it!
