Hey everyone! First of all...CAN YOU BELIEVE that we are this close to retiring the "I Feel Cheap" clip. It is absolutely mind blowing to us that that happened TWO years ago...there have been way too many rubbermaid tote showers that happened between then and now and to think it's almost behind us is a feeling that's hard to describe. Also, thanks for letting us open up and ramble at the end of the video, we've been dealing with some stuff off camera that's been sorta compounding and we're really trying to be more mindful and present lately. Also - If you didn't see the update on the community tab of UA-cam, we've made the decision to switch our posting time back to be 4:00pm EST. A lot of you reached out saying you were having trouble finding the videos or they stopped showing up for you completely. It has been 3 years of posting at this time so I can totally understand why it's been confusing so hopefully this time works and helps out with the confusion ❤ As always, we hoped you enjoyed the video and can't wait to keep the momentum going with this huge project!
Hey guys I hope I caught you in time before you have the tower installed. I have thirty years in metal construction trade and twenty in hvac. If your engineers want to "hard seal" the wooden stair box to the metal ones do not let them! The two have extremely different expansion rates. If you seal them together with a silicon or polyurethane that hardens it will crack the wooden structure and every year you will need to reseal it. In the US we used to call it Durofoam enclosure strip. It can move an inch without failing. Then have a metal roofing company install sheetmetal flashing on top of the durostrips to protect them from the sun and acid rain. The metal roofing company will know to fasten the flashing to just one structure or the other NOT BOTH!!! Sometimes experience trumps engineering and this is one of those.
I feel cheap is one of my favorite clips! 😂. So happy for you both and amazed by all you have accomplished. Keep it up guys! As a bonus you are bringing us all a lot of happiness watching you through it all. ❤

I doubt that it needs to be said again, but just in case ... One of the most attractive qualities about both of you is your abilities to share mistakes and set backs and show us the way you work through them. That sort of vulnerability is rarer than it should be with people always needing to look perfect or editing their public persona to show only perfect finished outcomes. Thank you for this. In the meantime, actual running water is such a triumph - what a change this will make in your lives. Having to level the floor - that will be only a minor hiccup in the looking back on it later. Congratulations!

I can live without everything but running water...that's where I draw the line. So happy for you!!! Pace your homestead labour and "urgency"...your body will thank you later.
Tyler would have absolutely crapped if there had been an answer when he was talking down the well head.😂 I'd give a lot to have been a ventriloquist around the corner...🤣🤣🤣
It's that time of year for seasonal depression. You guys need to be kind to yourselves. You have done amazing! Each small step is still accomplishing your end goal. If the day is crappy, end that task & go do something fun with the boys. You have no deadline! It's your property. We will enjoy videos of you having fun times as much as working ones. :)
Get the tile clips that force the two edges into alignment. There's the wedge style and the twist on style. Absolute must for large format tile setting.
I can't tell you how many days I would have spent in tears and despair with all the "issues" y'all have encountered. I'm in awe of your grace and problem solving and determination!! You guys are so inspiring. Have some fun and revel in the joy of your love!!!!
Dear Tyler and Todd, As an engineer in the car wash industry, we would always put a drain on the floor. Also, electricity and water never mix, so we would recommend at least a sheet of plastic between wet and power. Curious on the way you will stop the water from freezing between the wellhead and the room with the inverter?
Congratulations on getting running water. Everybody takes that resource for granted. After three years, I doubt you two will ever do that. Todd, your innuendos crack me up. Don't ever stop. When you're felling stressed and down, remember the view you had with the blue sky, with the sun out and the freshly fallen snow, that you said the people in the city never get. I'll see the both of you, along with the boys and squirrel next week.
9:31 "Let's take this serious"...followed by hysterical laughter (mine included....) who wouldn't love your videos!!!!??!!!! Celebrate the win!! You've summed it up in a nutshell...and that's something I've always admired about you two...you do celebrate the wins...you've just maybe forgotten about it for a little bit....but you always remember to stop and enjoy the special moments and that counts for a lot too!! Now this may be my drug-laced past rising up to haunt me but I could swear I saw episodes where you had a pump down the well and were getting water out of it and you developed a brilliant DIY filtration system that was 2000 times cheaper than the commercial one....was I hallucinating? What happened to all that? Anyway, enjoy the week, the family, the beauty and THE WATER!!!....looking forward to the next installment...but I'll NEVER retire the "I feel cheap" scene!! lolol
I've been off grid for 5 years and I still don't have running water - I also fill up at a spring. the two things I have noticed since living off grid is 1/) how much power I use and 2.) how much water I use. It has taught me to be grateful for both :) Love you guys - - I love your videos
Just a note guys..I know you beat yourselves up but think about it . Your achieving so much like just mind blowing!!! I am always impressed with how you know so much about what needs to get done..and then you actually do it. It's insane how capable and talented you two are ...besides step by step take your time...your getting there the dome is incredible already ...enjoy the moments and victories and most important each other...your blessed to have each other yes? Love ya guys💕❣️👍👍
OMG!!! I nearly choked to death when I exploded in laughter with a mouth full of LaCroix!!! This was wonderfully funny... and you are such great storytellers!!! 🤣🤣🤣🙃🥰🤪
Congratulations on getting the well working to provide you with (hopefully) clean water -although when the water came out of Todd's hose - I mean the hose Todd was holding - it looked like yellow piss. Hope the floor turns out the way you want it. And love all your comments - both clean and gay. Give Charlie, Eddie & Squirrel lots of treats for me! Would love to figure out how to send you photos of my fur baby (hell, right now I'm locked out of my online checking account and cannot get back in!). I like your 2023 goal - maybe more people should adopt that as their goal. See you next Sunday, although I love watching old reruns. And Todd, you're not cheap - I'll never get tired of that clip (esp. as I get older - such beautiful eye candy for these old tired eyes!). Love to all!
Sunday with the boys! It's always a pleasure to see what amazing things you've come up with. It's astounding how far you've come to make living off the grid livable.
I think the word your looking for, is tedious having to be labor intensive can be tedious recover by getting into the hot tub having a tea with a snack, in the years to come, you'll look back and realize, why was I so grumpy? Hungry, angry lonely tired, (lonely without extra help) and you'll look at what you accomplished with some pride. Keep up your momentum! You're almost there! then oh, another project!
Hey guys! I'm ready happy that you're finally getting water! I am also building my own house and I know how difficult it can be. You seem to conquer every single job like pros. I'm looking forward to getting my own water supply, but I'm just not there yet. Watching your videos gives me inspiration! Thanks for another great video!
Tyler and Todd.....my mother in law said to me as I was running around the house a day before my wedding trying to get things cleaned up" You do what you can and don't stress out about what you haven't gotten done. Plus she added" you have accomplished so many other things getting ready for this wedding in less than 3 months....you should be very proud of yourself". My mother in law was a gem and you two have finished quite a few projects in the last 3 yrs. Take the time to celebrate and be proud of yourselves and then at the end of each day look at what was done....use a check list....check off what you HAVE accomplished that day . I find the check list very helpful.....daunting to make, but very satisfying when the task or project is checked off. Keep at it, you gents are doing great!
Todd was on fire in this episode!!! Maybe it was all that behind the scenes wine? You guys are so awesome!!! You guys have a beautiful home, so take the time to play and relax and enjoy yourselves. You have worked incredibly hard to position yourselves to be able to enjoy the journey...so enjoy the journey!
It's so wonderful to see ya'lls remarkable relationship!! I'm a bit envious! Y'all have restored my faith in love. ❤ And that was something I had long given up on. You two are a great team; even when you have different visions; always putting respect for each other before yourselves. Truly a winning team!! Wow!
Change in 2023 is what my wife & I have been saying for a year, we lost our home due to the floods in Australia in Feb 22 and have been living without for that long. We shower outside in pop up tent where we have snakes and river rats run around, we do dishes next to it and thank God we can at least go up a flight of stairs to a bed inside what’s left of the house. Watching you change your home and adapt keeps me positive that we can do it too. Thanks for the giggles and positivity even when you are both exhausted. Love from a Brooklyn girl down under.
That was the most exciting Water "fall" I ever saw when it "fell" out of the hose . Sensational ! How enchantingly well you both work together.Laughter is so much better than "you stupid fool" as inevitable mistakes are made from a tossup decision. Respect so beautiful to see
I guess that the fact that you are starting to see a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel makes you impatient to get it done faster. You have been through so much in the past years that it’s only normal that now that you see important milestones being completed, your minds become impatient a bit. I simply raise my hat to you, since I wouldn’t have lasted more than a couple of hours in your situation! You deserve an award for tenacity and overall ingenuity. Have a nice week and thank you for sharing these moments with us. You are by far my favourite couple.❤❤
Some days it is just too easy to expel all of the innuendos. I can see Todd is thinking it before it flies out of his mouth. Love your sense of humour. 🤗😂
"Let's be serious" 🤣🤣 I agree sometimes laughter is the best medicine. Being mindful is a good for peace of mind. Nice job with what you did get done. 👍🏽 have a great week
Oh darlings! I completely understand what a tremendous step y'all have completed!! It took me 5 years ! Y'all are ahead of the curve, so to Speak!! 😄😄💖💖

It’s so nice that the space you had foreseen just fits its purpose so well! You should put a plaque at the old well « Tyler and Todd survived thanks to this spring. Treat it…well! »
Haha aw I love this...Todd (being the kind soul he is) actually tracked down the man who runs the spring and gave him a gift card for things like filters, new waterlines, etc so the next person can rely on it like we did. Truthfully, we might still get our drinking water there...I've never tasted water so pure.
Tyler, I am surprised you didn't research the hell out of the in-floor heating as per usual. It just goes to show that you both are overwhelmed by the pressure of getting things done quickly. Please, once that project is completed, take a break, explore nature a little bit 😀 😄 and recharge your body's solar cells. I wouldn't mind seeing you enjoying yourselves exploring your land in the winter snow cover and frolicking with the boys. Have some fun...we love to see you guys happy 😊.
all that hard work will pay off keep at it so very proud of both of you as individuals and a freeking awsome couple nothing but respect and admiration rock on
It’s not Sunday until you guys are here. I’m waiting and looking for my notification to tell me “ hey we’re here girl “ and then boy if I could jump I would but I’m still in bed with a bad flare up of osteoarthritis ( 6 weeks now ) that is so painful I’m on fentanyl patches and liquid morphine, plus I’ve had steroid injection waiting for hospital cortisone injections ( under sedation this time ) You guys always cheer me up even if I’m crying…I always laugh..love you both xxxx. U.K. Steph xxxx
You guys are so sweet!! I had to laugh with you while you were trying out the flooring. Even though it was a really onerous task you seemed to have fun and are so cute with each other. Get rest and thank you for a really nice video.
The fact that you two just don’t give up at times is so impressive. Naturally, when things don’t go as planned, it is exasperating, but you always persevere. And, that’s the reason we keep coming back week over week. The laughs bring us back too.
An absolutely fantastic video this week! One more double entendre and I would have been on the floor convulsing with laughter. Keep up the excellent work, and please don't retire the "I Feel Cheap" video. Much love.
You guys continue to bring sunshine into the world by being REAL. Too much fake in life. Give squirrel a hug and kiss from her Aunt B (cat lover here) and give the boys a big hug as well. Enjoy the world you're creating. Much luv from Texas.
I am astonished that you are doing this in the WINTER! I can remember getting an in-house water-system in the mid-1960's on the farm, and the well was drilled in July. I do have wonderful memories of actually having my first shower in the indoor bathroom, rather than a "bath" in a round tub in front of the kitchen stove!
You guys are an inspiration for all of us, even if we are living in a subdivision somewhere! You are upto any challenge! Your life off the grid makes me realize how grateful I am for the services, most people take for granted! The roof over my head, the water, the heat, the clean bathroom, a place to rest my head, and the quietness, and even the birds singing! Having been homeless for periods in my life, I have learned to be thankful for the basic things in my life! This gratefulness has changed my life, straightened out my priorities, and evolved my entire view of living, life, humanity, love, faith, charity, and hope! God Bless! Thomas!
Hi guys, "getting something done quickly" is usually setting yourself up for frustration. Breathe in, breathe out, and start doing the job and try to enjoy the process. Believe me. I'm a quiltmaker ;-) Big hugs from me in the Netherlands.
The suspense of finding out if the self-leveling stuff worked or not is going to kill me! Hope it all ended well. No worries about "rambling" at the end of this video or any of your videos. Personally, I like it. It keeps things real. Keep it up!
Such an amazing thing to see running water!!! So happy for you guys!!! Charlie and Eddie know what's best, sleeping in front of the fire! See you next week!
Hang in there guys!!! This too shall pass!!! One day you'll be sitting at the dinner table, gumming your beans, n rice and saying, PHEW!!! So glad we're FINALLY DONE with building our home!!! Just keep your patience and sense of humor's alive and well, and all frustrations will slide right off. Sending love, support and big fat hugs!!! 🍃😍🤗🍃
You guys really need to take a step back and look at how far you've come. You have heat in the dome and the container house. You have electricity. You have water on the property now. The work-around for the upstairs of the container house is coming along so well. Not to mention the garden, the pond, the sauna, and the hot tub. You've done a lot. Breathe. Take a minute to decompress.
Hi Guys , I just want to let you know that I love watching you , I been watching you both from the very beginning and look how far you came . Love you both ❣️
“She didn’t even seem sorry!’ 🤣 the Dream-crusher calmly moves on to take the next call, leaving Tyler and Todd in a despondent heap on the floor…😆 Seriously, you guys make so many things look easy, us regular mortals are in awe
When you install large tiles you have put the grout/glue on the back of the tile as well as the floor .You can level the tiles with a rubber mallet and level.
First, loved the video, but I haven't seen one since you started that I haven't loved so, I'm probably biased. As for the tiling, now that the SLC is down, this is just a suggestion for furture projects. If the floor has an apex point, and you use a level to find the highest spot on the floor, provided it isn't drastically different (three times the hight of one tile is my max), you can start laying the tile from that high point and adjust your thinset thickness accordingly, to create a level surface. For small spaces, this is my preferred method. For large areas, yeah, the SLC usually ends up being the best solution. In any case, as I've said many times, you two are the bee's knees! I love you guys! Great work! The entire property is amazing! Big hugs to you guys, Eddie, Charlie and Lily!
Having had a 30-year-long experience in things going wrong, you guys are doing a phenomenal job of letting things roll off when things don't go as planned and keep moving on. It's a wonderful thing to watch! So excited that your dream is coming together, so far it looks beautiful! 🥰
Celebrate the small wins. I’ve found that setting small achievable goals each day and having one weekly goal that if I achieve I get a ‘reward’ , really worked for me. Rewards are the things that you wouldn’t normally allow yourself (going out for dinner, Netflix chill whatever works for you ❤️✨
This video was so good I laughed sooo many times. Glad the innuendo's have made a comeback! Yes just remember how amazing everything you have already accomplished is. You deserve to relax and having expectations sets us up for disappointment I think you 2 have learned that over the years. I am so happy for you 2 and adore you guys and the boys!
The longest mile is right before you finish the race. Set back and realize today you know about self leveling cement yesterday you knew nothing about self leveling cement. That is an amazing accomplishment in of itself!!!!
Yay. So good to start my week with you guys. It's a beautiful sunny Monday morning here in Victoria, Australia. Tyler, I love how good your videos are, so professional. I hope you don't lose muscle tone now that you don't have haul water any more lol.

I can live without everything but running water...that's where I draw the line.
So happy for you!!!
Pace your homestead labour and "urgency"...your body will thank you later.
Couldn't agree more!! So happy to finally have running water🙌🏻 Thanks for watching
Tyler would have absolutely crapped if there had been an answer when he was talking down the well head.😂 I'd give a lot to have been a ventriloquist around the corner...🤣🤣🤣
That would have been priceless
You would never see me on the land again, I can promise you that!
I'd paid good money to see that happen!! 🤣
Haha honestly, after the tile mishap there was DEFINITELY a few of those moments!
Absolutely!!! It really makes you look at things differently doesn’t it?
Just a note guys..I know you beat yourselves up but think about it . Your achieving so much like just mind blowing!!! I am always impressed with how you know so much about what needs to get done..and then you actually do it. It's insane how capable and talented you two are ...besides step by step take your time...your getting there the dome is incredible already ...enjoy the moments and victories and most important each other...your blessed to have each other yes? Love ya guys💕❣️👍👍
Wow A.j. ....thanks so much for the kind words, really means a lot! 💛
I have a feeling your security system would hold the flashlight for the burgler. They look so dangerous...😊
Thanks again! Just sit back and cuddle 🤗🤗
You guys make this look so easy and you always achieve everything you go after no matter rain, heat, sun or lots of snow.
haha it's definitely not easy, which we sort of touch on at the end of the video!
It was definitely some behind the scenes something 😂
@@tylerandtodd 😂😂😂
@@tylerandtodd I have seen that "behind the scenes something in my friends before. It is easy to recognize once you see it.". You guys are amazing.
No matter what's going on, you two make me smile. I love the banter between you guys. My Sunday is complete with a Tyler & Todd episode.
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
That was the most exciting Water "fall"
I ever saw when it "fell" out of the hose .
Hey Jean Bergeron! Thanks so much for this, means more than you know...sending all our love! TnT xox
Hey Scherri Greene :) Thanks so much for this, really means more than you know!
Oh darlings! I completely understand what a tremendous step y'all have completed!! It took me 5 years ! Y'all are ahead of the curve, so to Speak!! 😄😄💖💖
It's definitely been a LOT of work to get here. I think normalizing the low days is important too...makes the highs feel even more special
Water ,Electricity,Heat, good company, great fur family, beautiful dome home, what about that sounds bad,I say congratulations on what you have already accomplished, can’t wait for what is to come!
Have some fun...we love to see you guys happy 😊.
all that hard work will pay off keep at it so very proud of both of you as individuals and a freeking awsome couple nothing but respect and admiration rock on
Hey Debbie Deforge, appreciate the kind words! Really means so much to both of us. Hope you have a lovely week and we'll see you on Sunday!
@@tylerandtodd you betcha never miss an episode if I can help it.xoxoxo
FYI, It's ok to count your eggs before they hatch. It's the chickens that are iffy.
You had me at “hard & fast” I lost about 5 minutes of the episode I laughed so much - okay got to go back and grab what I missed. Love you guys
Glad you enjoyed it!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I LMFAO when Todd said " I Feel Cheap" I love you guys... Abrazos
The fact that you two just don’t give up at times is so impressive. Naturally, when things don’t go as planned, it is exasperating, but you always persevere. And, that’s the reason we keep coming back week over week. The laughs bring us back too.
At 9:42 they made me choke on a grape!!!, because I realized we'd all recently seen "Puff the Magic Dragon"! lol
An absolutely fantastic video this week! One more double entendre and I would have been on the floor convulsing with laughter. Keep up the excellent work, and please don't retire the "I Feel Cheap" video. Much love.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You guys continue to bring sunshine into the world by being REAL. Too much fake in life. Give squirrel a hug and kiss from her Aunt B (cat lover here) and give the boys a big hug as well. Enjoy the world you're creating. Much luv from Texas.
It’s so delightful that your so natural about all of this. It makes it so much more relatable. Take your time life is short, enjoy every moment.
Pets make everything better 💜🐾💜
Love you both. Thanks for sharing your lives. ❤️
God Bless! Thomas!
Hi Thomas Martin! You're too kind, means more than you know... Have a wonderful week. See you on Sunday!
@@tylerandtodd God Bless you both and the boys! Woof Woof! Cheers!
Hi guys, "getting something done quickly" is usually setting yourself up for frustration. Breathe in, breathe out, and start doing the job and try to enjoy the process. Believe me. I'm a quiltmaker ;-) Big hugs from me in the Netherlands.
You two are hilarious!! I look forward to watching you every week ❤
Thanks Sheryl!! Enjoy your week and we will see you next Sunday ❤️
I love seeing fellow dog lovers sitting on the floor so as to not disturb their old doggos. 🥰 When ya know, ya know. ;😘😘
Thank you Angelina Brown...way too kind!!! We hope you have a wonderful week and we'll see you in the next one xoxo
Hi Guys , I just want to let you know that I love watching you , I been watching you both from the very beginning and look how far you came . Love you both ❣️
Thank you so much for watching all this time Elsie! It means so much to us❤️
“She didn’t even seem sorry!’ 🤣 the Dream-crusher calmly moves on to take the next call, leaving Tyler and Todd in a despondent heap on the floor…😆
Seriously, you guys make so many things look easy, us regular mortals are in awe
Hang in there Guys!! Good things take time and your hard work will pay off in the long run!! Take care and stay positive and strong!!❤
When you install large tiles you have put the grout/glue on the back of the tile as well as the floor .You can level the tiles with a rubber mallet and level.
So love watching you guys and everything you're doing. Love the innuendoes! 😄
So glad! Thanks for watching Donna!
Love from Queensland Australia!
I LOVE watching your videos every Sunday and following along your journey together!! Thanks for sharing!
Rewards are the things that you wouldn’t normally allow yourself (going out for dinner, Netflix chill whatever works for you ❤️✨
its so sweet how u guys hv so much patience for each other
ever since you were first mentioned on vanwives ive subbed, and it was so worth it. really helps my anxiety
Needless to say as soon as I came home from my flight yesterday, my husband patiently waited since Sunday, so we could watch your latest video together. We are so happy for you both, this is such a huge accomplishment and you both can be very proud of what you achieved so far. We find you not just a wonderful inspiration to everyone, but you are such kind and loving people. We love your sense of humor, but admire that you are also able to show your mistakes and hardships along the way. Wishing you all the best and can't wait to watch the next video of your journey 🥰
Thank you for sharing I feel your anxiety & frustration at the energy building issues
You both looked exhausted So glad you got fur baby love to enjoy & relax 🐾🐾🐾💜💜
Tyler and Todd: "you kind, you smart, you important! " Quote from the movie, The Help, can't be wrong! Y'all just keep impressing me!! Warm Hugs to all your family!!!🐕🐈❤️
You guys always seem to make it all work. I would just give up and nothing would get done. I have been trying to repaint my kitchen cabinets for weeks and half the cabinet doors are off but have decided I am not into it anymore. I need a Tyler and Todd in my life. Keep at it. Thanks for taking us through your journey.
I admire your perseverance, focus & determination-you are always winners because you refuse to ever lose. It may take time & some heartbreak but in the end you find the best way. I think because you are so blessed with love in your lives the universe finds these other ways to challenge you
Congratulations to you both! Great to see that you have accomplished a three year plan, you are so dedicated , it is a pleasure to see you both so excited and happy. Love to you all, especially Squirrel, from us both in theUK xx
I wished you had a mid week content. I am so relaxed watching your content. Soothes my anxiety
Great show. I was on the floor laughing with you guys.😝
Also, you guys deserve a bigger tv.
Hey, guys remember to be proud of yourselves for all you’ve accomplished. 🎉. The rest will come out in the wash. Thanks for the smiles.
Yes! Thank you!
“Hopefully we can quickly get this done” made me laugh right out loud again! It never happens that way but I get the hope! Oh Lordy! I’m at the beginning of a tile job right now myself and of course nothing is square or level…but it will be! Hopefully!
You guys are amazing and hilarious 😂
I love your family too 😘😘😘😘😘
So wonderful to see you two laughing so much.
I watch y’all and then get busy on my own little projects, motivated as HELL!
JUST A “little old lady (65!) in Texas who loves y’all, dearly!❤
Yay! Thank you!
You know it's Sunday, when Tyler and Todd are on our screens. Having my nachos and going to watch the vlog. Love you guys, from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦 🤗😉👍❤️🌈
@ 9:43 I had to pause the video until I too stopped laughing. You two are so infectious. Hoping for smooth sailing from now on.
