Hi! Thanks for this video. It helped me a lot. In the past Shutterstock approved more than 90 %. The last months it happened to me, that they declined almost every picture. Even my pics become better and better. Yesterday - after watching your video - I took a bench of 30 pics, which Shutterstock already declined 2 times and edited it especially for Shutterstock taking your tips into account! And they took all of them. In the future, I will edit my pics twice. Firstly nice and interesting and secondly a bit more boring for Shutterstock... 😁
@@TheTeachingDoc Yes, it did! Sometimes I want to much. It has to be nice and cool with great colors and contrast. But as you mentioned it causes compression artifacts. Normally you can’t see them, but if you zoom in to 100% or more, you see them... Thanks again!
Thank you. Just started selling in stock companies like Wirestock. Most of those WS sales are with Adobe. I tried going direct with Adobe since WS limits submissions, then I encountered this annoying compression issue. Your video is the best I’ve find with great and persistent searching to figure out what the compression matter is all about. What stock company do you do best with?
DSLR raw doesn't help that much? I processed my photos in raw, I did very minimum editing(like clarity 10, contract 12, sharpen 40), a lot of my photos are still rejected because of noises/artefact.
compress. very good video! i was wondering why my phone always created so many artifacts. i always half or even fully slide the contrast slider up. Do you know what introduces artifacts and lines in video? i have that problem on sony a6000 with 18-200 mm lens. These artifacts are almost unnoticeable but shutterstock most of the times reject my video's for that reason saying noise/artifacts. its for example just a small almost invisible line on the feather of a bird wing. something hard to prevent and i dont have money for 3000 dollar lenses. Maybe its better to get a 4k camera and downsize the video to HD?
Thanks for your valuable insight regarding video artefacts. Does that problem happen even if you have good natural light? I was of the opinion that low light is the major culprit for videos and specially plug ins for reducing video noise. But downsampling from 4k will always result in a "crisp" looking video.. But what i am afraid is the artefacts (if procured optically.. Due to the lens you mentioned) might also appear prominent.. 😢😢 I am yet to dip my hands into videography.. I always get caught up between the choice of uploading to shutterstock and other agencies vs Blackbox 😏😏😏 And that dilemma is Constantly holding me back resulting is footage collecting dirt on my hard drive 😅😅
i think the light is the cause indeed now you mentioned it. becuase of winter i shoot a lot indoors now. like a tropical garden/zoo. my lens is f6.3 at the long end. meaning i have to shoot atleast on f6.3 and idealy f8. Thats not always posible with the light ofcourse. in these glass houses there isnt that much light. When i look at my summer footage shot outdoor they tend to have way less artefacts. hmm you should just start and just decide. i dont like blackbox i just want full control. it how ever takes more work as a lot of agencies dont load metadata on video files. so for shutterstock, 123rf, gettyimages, depositphotos, dissolve i have to do everything by hand and copy and paste. Pond5, canstockphoto, adobestock, dreamstime do load the metadata. You have to decide how much time you want to invest in your stock footage uploading process.

I use Adobe lightroom. Compression artefacts depends on dslr sensor good lens lighting and editing. Just having a dslr will not solve it.. You need to improve all aspects.

It's not possible to change after the video is shot. Use better lights and full frame dslr n wife aperture prime lens to avoid compression artefacts. Use professional video editing software. QuickTime converter is very bad and will destroy the video clarity.

I use Adobe lightroom. U can use camera raw plug in for photoshop. Problem is not in lightroom. Problem is in raw processing skill. Learn it properly. Good luck

Samsung a7 has horrible lowlight camera performance. In order to be successfull in shutterstock you need very good image quality. That's the truth. Even withiut edit the image quality is bad. Its fine for facebook and Instagram but not for professional work. Try to click photos in bright daylight and maybe they will be accepted. Good luck

Well you can your spam folder. Or you can visit shutterstock website and then look into the images in the first 3 or 4 pages.. They are the current best selling ones... You will get an idea....

With only 30 photos it's impossible to get them on search engine pages. Target 1000 approved images. Then it will automatically rank up and become easily searchable. Beginners struggle is normal. All the best.

I frequently travel hilly and mountain regions of Nepal due to my job nature and I have a vast collection of nature/landscape as well as people/events/festival photos. I started using a lower megapixel compact digital camera since 2009 but never have used DSLR. Therefore, the original photo size of most of my photos is between 2-3 MBs and less than 300 dpi resolution. 1) I am wondering if I can try my luck to sell Shutterstock or any other stock agency by upgrading photo resolution to 300 dpi and increasing the size/dimension larger than 4MB using photoshop? Will this meet the guidelines/criteria of Shutterstock? 2) In one of the videos, you have mentioned that we have to wait for 3 months to receive payment from Shutterstock even our images are being sold during that period. Yes you can try your luck. You will be given all the guidelines during account sign up agreement so read all of them carefully. 3 months time is the waiting period before which shutterstock account is in probation. It will only become permanent after 3 months after which payment is done. Compress. I get rejected coz compression Artifact, loss focus on due camera shake, motion blur, , i am a nub with fuji xa2, the second one rejected coz underexposed, overexposed or inconsistently exposed
U can try but generally huawei y9 photos in low-light are not good. U will do fine with daylight and sunlight photos. But if u are working in low light then get a dslr for best results

Yes. Pixel 2 had that problem. It has only one lens. No telephoto... So blur will happen always. Don't zoom

No.. Its your phone which has the QuickTime codec in built.. And that maybe incompatible with shutterstock.. I haven't faced that issue

Or you can visit shutterstock website and then look into the images in the first 3 or 4 pages.. They are the current best selling ones... You will get an idea....

With only 30 photos it's impossible to get them on search engine pages. Target 1000 approved images. Then it will automatically rank up and become easily searchable. Beginners struggle is normal. All the best.
Hi Dr. Arindam, I am Krishna from Nepal and have been watching most of your vides, liked them and subscribed to your channel. Photography is my hobby but I am still amateur in this field. I frequently travel hilly and mountain regions of Nepal due to my job nature and I have a vast collection of nature/landscape as well as people/events/festival photos. I started using a lower megapixel compact digital camera since 2009 but never have used DSLR. Therefore, the original photo size of most of my photos is between 2-3 MBs and less than 300 dpi resolution.
1) I am wondering if I can try my luck to sell Shutterstock or any other stock agency by upgrading photo resolution to 300 dpi and increasing the size/dimension larger than 4MB using photoshop? Will this meet the guidelines/criteria of Shutterstock?
2) In one of the videos, you have mentioned that we have to wait for 3 months to receive payment from Shutterstock even our images are being sold during that period. Can you explain what could be the motive behind this restriction, please?

Yes you can try your luck. You will be given all the guidelines during account sign up agreement so read all of them carefully.
3 months time is the waiting period before which shutterstock account is in probation. It will only become permanent after 3 months after which payment is done.
You can try your luck on other agencies as well

Compress. I get rejected coz compression Artifact, loss focus on due camera shake, motion blur, , i am a nub with fuji xa2, the second one rejected coz underexposed, overexposed or inconsistently exposed

U can try but generally huawei y9 photos in low-light are not good. U will do fine with daylight and sunlight photos. But if u are working in low light then get a dslr for best results

I just had a photo rejected by SS for focus and artifacts, but it was accepted by Adobe and 6 other agencies. SS is out of their minds.
