AWD was off so he had a disadvantage, also on his instagram, they did about three test races and he won the first one. The r8 even malfunctioned on one of the races.
Did you not read the error message on the dash board? It said 4matic unavailable. It wasn't user error. You can get the best driver in the world but it's next to impossible to have a decent launch in that monstrous amg with only spinning its rear wheels.

That M8 competition is a beast. I’m a service tech at my local BMW dealer and got to prep the car before we delivered it to the customer. To be honest, I’d rather have an M5 competition. Costs a lot less than the M8 with little to no difference in power. Just my opinion. :)

Love the channel. You ever thought about maybe using a dragy in each car? That would take the driver reaction out of the picture, which in some races looks to affect the outcome. You would also get actual et and trap speeds.
