    Flula is so absurdly smart in his comedy. He's always got an instant response and it's almost always multilayered. It's genuinely impressive how well he plays this character.

    The speed with which Flula's mind works is truly something to behold. It takes years of improv to hone the skill needed to respond in a rapid-fire fashion like that, let alone in another language. Staggering.

      @Glitch_Wizard 7 місяців тому +2

      @@mestrinimaster3602 true hes faking the accent, but also to be fair because hes german its much easier, hes really just exxagerating what comes naturally.
      So like me, as a native english speaker, if i were to do a russian accent, it would be hard to be super consistent with it and take effort. But if I were speaking say german, or spanish or whatever, and exagerating my english accent it wouldnt be so hard. THe whole reason accents are a thing is because certain sounds are hard to pronounce, so by literally not using any of the hard to pronounce sounds, and taking the easiest route, you end up with a heavy accent.
      slightly oversimplified, but still.

    What's so interesting about Flula's comedy is how he contrasts this sort of very rigid/inflexible German guy persona on the one hand, but on the other hand demonstrates an incredible facility for US culture and a really incredibly ability to make a subtle joke that will fly past you if you're not paying attention, on the other. One moment you think he's completely clueless, the next moment he's making a joke about how often podcasts are sponsored by Zip Recruiter.

    No matter what age we are these days, it appears we always remove 10 years from our collectives memories as if it's still 2013.
