So with you quitting your 9 to 5 does that scare you if your Etsy shop was to get took down because I’ve seen it happen plenty of times what are you gonna do at that point that’s what scares me
Hi Taylor, could you explain what you mean by the profit margin being higher on tote bags? I’m confused, because can’t you set the price at whatever you want? The profit margins are just calculating the retail price relative to all expenses. So if you charge more for the item the margins will be higher. Am I missing something?
One of the better interviews I’ve heard on the topic! You asked really good and pertinent questions. Taylor is super inspirational to me. I’ve just started and have 5 listings so far. The design, research, product investigation, seo research has been 200+ hours. It’s incredibly hard to do this despite the UA-cam videos saying it’s simple!
I start a month after Taylor in 2022, but didn't do that great, only did 44k in sales but I don't have any personalized items bc I want it to be as passive as I can be, nothing is passive if there customer service daily. I hope to atleast double my revenue each year, always learning and still learning
Most informative, detailed, calm, and reasonable interview on running an ecommerce shop, congratulations to the host and guest. Learned a lot. Thanks. 😃
I have heard a few interviews of Taylor before and this one was very good because the questions were very direct and to the point. Other videos { don't want to name anyone} it felt like 2 ladies were just chit chatting and did not get much from them. Here it was different especially the mockup and shipping part.
@@bobbyw1074Evergreen refers to products that sell equally well throughout the year (e.g. birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, etc...) Seasonal products are products associated to specific times of the year (e.g. Christmas cards, Mothers/Fathers day gifts, graduation gifts, Halloween, etc...)
Im definitely going to add more tote bags, i dont have that many, maybe about 10 and only sold one so far. I didnt think people was even buying tote bags
If you are in Europe and want to sell in the US, should you use dollar or euro in your Etsy settings? I think it was because of transaction fees? Will you please help?
This is very inspiring - as a beginner, this gives me hope that I can do it too. Would love to be interviewed too and tell everyone that I made it hehehe 💪🏼🙏🏼😀
I opened my shop August 2023 and no sales other than family helping out . I just changed my shop name and added different styles to my products hopefully that I’ll help boost sales . Any advice would appreciated.
You don't need to have separate checking accounts. Etsy, petrified and other types of expenses are already figured out buy those entities and they all give you their data
Question about mock up. So I use final design, all vectorized, etc to put it on my mock up image then download to create my mock up. However that final mockup design itself is no longer enhanced image. When I try to vectorize, upscale that final mock up image it comes out all distorted (models face etc). How do I figure this out?
Very good conversation other than a lot of misleading info regarding ads and a shipping with printify multiple costs for a bundled order in most cases, etc..this is a great overview but I would most certainly not rely on her info regarding ads.
@PhilipAnders oh it means "behind the scenes", Taylor recently did a video on the day in the life of a etsy seller so we saw what takes place behind the scenes
Hello, if anyone can help me. Is it possible to make a listing on Etsy that includes several personalized products but with some from Printify and others from Printful? Does this not cause conflicts when it comes to shipping? Thank you
That's her first year on Etsy and she was still employed at the time. The fact to focus on here is that getting that many sales in your first year is an amazing result ;)

Thanks for coming on! Taylor🙏

Quite possibly one of the most helpful interviews I've seen so far. Thank you so much!

I think she just means that you can more easily sell tote bags for a higher profit than tshirts.@@AmbroseAndreano

A lot to digest. This is to watch and rewatch while taking notes. Golden nuggets again, Philip. Thank you and to your guest as well
The nuggets are all thanks to Taylor! Glad you enjoyed the podcast🙏
This is one of the best “business” classes I’ve attended in a while. Thank you so much for ALL the nuggets.❤

That's still great progress though! Congrats to you!
Comparison is the thief of joy. Focus on your own progress. 1 year ago your sales were probably a lot lower than they are now 😉
@@quickpstuts412right? 😄
Was eagerly waiting for this video. Thanks man.
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@PhilipAnders yup really helped a lot and gave lots of motivation

Great and valuable information for new sellers. Thank you philip and taylor 🙏
Anytime!!

Thank you for that feedback! I was trying to get more in depth to cover topics people actually struggle with when starting etsy pod
Love Taylor and follow her channel too! Very down to Earth and intelligent young lady! Thank you, Philip!
agreed👌
What do u guys mean by evergreen vs seasonal?
@@bobbyw1074Evergreen refers to products that sell equally well throughout the year (e.g. birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, etc...) Seasonal products are products associated to specific times of the year (e.g. Christmas cards, Mothers/Fathers day gifts, graduation gifts, Halloween, etc...)
@@bobbyw1074 Evergreen you sell all year round, seasonal products Christmas, Valentine, Mother's Day etc
@@Krizz139 thank you
I really enjoy your interviews. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Great interview, very informative, thank you to you both 😊
You're welcome glad you found it informative!🙏
This was great. Thank you!

Aww, Philip is so adorable.
Great video, i listened to it on my walk on park. Very valuable ans inspiring since I am a beginner 😅
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope it helps 🙂
Great content! No bullshit as with other similar channels, just pure relevant content.
So glad to hear her speak about personalization. I don’t like doing it and am considering doing automated.
I always considered it, only thing is what if I have questions for customers and they don't respond in a timely manner if they do respond.
What is an Evergreen?
A niche that has potential to sell consistently throughout the year
If you are in Europe and want to sell in the US, should you use dollar or euro in your Etsy settings? I think it was because of transaction fees? Will you please help?
Not related to this video but just wondering if you have CafePress account and what are your thoughts on their new seller workflow? Thanks.
I don't have CafePress actually
This is very inspiring - as a beginner, this gives me hope that I can do it too. Would love to be interviewed too and tell everyone that I made it hehehe 💪🏼🙏🏼😀
You can do it!💪🏼
Me too!
sir! can we sell our ai desighns(generted by ideogram etc) as print on demand on etsy store ?
yes you can just make sure they are high enough quality for print and don't infringe on copyright or trademarks
I opened my shop August 2023 and no sales other than family helping out . I just changed my shop name and added different styles to my products hopefully that I’ll help boost sales . Any advice would appreciated.
This is so helpful, can you please share the software name that help in automated personalized products?
You don't need to have separate checking accounts. Etsy, petrified and other types of expenses are already figured out buy those entities and they all give you their data
I also do the free shipping over 35$ and works great
Great interview! 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is gold information. It was vert useful
Glad to hear that! Thanks!

How do you create your mockups?
I agree with every word, I use the same strategy and also made 6 figures in my first year, in a very saturated niche, not POD
Very good conversation other than a lot of misleading info regarding ads and a shipping with printify multiple costs for a bundled order in most cases, etc..this is a great overview but I would most certainly not rely on her info regarding ads.
Which is the best search engine tool currently?
Hello Philip, I hope you are doing well is it okay If I buy an etsy account because I'm Egyptian and couldn't create an acount.
Im here because this was mentioned in Taylor's bts video😀
Welcome!👋 What does BTS stand for?
@PhilipAnders oh it means "behind the scenes", Taylor recently did a video on the day in the life of a etsy seller so we saw what takes place behind the scenes
What is the name of your Etsy shop?
Would be interesting if you have one store for everything or different stores for different products
Does anyone know the name of her Etsy shop?
Great ...thank you both
Thanks for watching!!
Hi,can i make a full income from pod store on etsy?
Yes it's definitely possible
Wow she's awesome, had to sub
Hello, if anyone can help me. Is it possible to make a listing on Etsy that includes several personalized products but with some from Printify and others from Printful? Does this not cause conflicts when it comes to shipping? Thank you
That would make things difficult to manage as the same shipping profile would apply to that listing, but I think it's technically possible
I think it would be a good topic for a video! Thank you very much@@PhilipAnders
Good video.
Evergreen??
SCO??
Evergreen niches = Hobies, occupations, animals etc. they sell all year.
Seo = search engine optimization or creating good listing data
She sold 100k gross so made about 25k profit? That’s barely enough to live on.
That's her first year on Etsy and she was still employed at the time. The fact to focus on here is that getting that many sales in your first year is an amazing result ;)
But it's still likely WAAAAY above average for a person's first year, especially post 2020.
@@PhilipAnders Agree. This interview holds a lot of weight to me because I think Etsy is much harder after 2020. So that's great progress.
@@quickpstuts412I kind of think that too, but etsy is advertising on tv now so they must be growing also
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Okay.
Does she ever say what type of product she actually sells?
Yes
What is it? Why don't you share her store?
100k? haha
?
I always wonder. $100,000 profit or $100,000 sold on Etsy
that is revenue or sold, not profit. She shares these numbers in more detail on her channel as well
All these vague claims suck.
