About wearing socks. I like Merrill and Birkenstock clogs, knock off Birkie sandals and Dingo boots.
Hi Linda, I love your knits mistakes and all. Can’t wait so see your mom and sister on the podcast again. I am currently working on the sleeve of Elliot rompersuit for my granddaughter who surprised us by arriving early. She is doing great. I also have some mistakes in my romper suit but am not tinking back. I stay calm and carry on knitting.
Thank you and congratulations on the”early arrival”- hoping for a family podcast in September- Stay tuned🤗
I too have a few of Carol’s bags and I love them. I was actually just looking at her shop just before yI saw you share your new project bags.
All three sweaters you modeled today are ones that I now have on my list! I love the Way you show the Cutbank Girls "Swing".... I gives us all the beauty of the knits full circle. It is also nice that you talk about the sizes you knit. It gives more perspective.for us visual learners. Have fun at Flock this year, maybe next year I will be faster off the mark to be able to get in. If you ever consider putting together a girls knitting day, let me know. Happy knitting!
Thank you for watching Paige… if you are local… let me know- happy to meet up for a knit🤗
@@forthefunofknit5322 forgot to ask if you know where you got your hobbii yarn. Love your doodles texture as the silk used in the pattern is a little light for me. Thanks
@@paigemckelvey8781 hi - from Hobbii website - Friends Cotton Silk🤗
Great to see you Linda , your knits are gorgeous. I recently bought the same spinning wheel, it’s still in the box! You have inspired me to move my butt and get started 🤗🧶💕 Happy Knitting 😁
Thank you for watching… so…. Have you opened the box? I am having so much fun spinning… you HAVE to try it if you are still on the fence. Buy some pretty coloured Corridale ( I am finding it the easiest fibre to control so far)🤗
Kay jones of the bakery bears has a gorgeous mitre square blanket pattern you should look at. It is also bordered in white.
Fox & Pine has stitch stoppers intended for tiny needles, as well. They are adorable little llamas and show as “Small hole” Yarn Loving Llama on the listing. I ordered several sets because I’m always working on several pairs of socks at a time 😂 and they work great on my 2.25mm needles.
Thank you Sandi… I will take another look🤗
Enjoyed every joyful moment of this Linda! Looooove the Pothos tee and in that beautiful Ancient Arts silk 😍😮 ADDED TO Ravelry CART immediately. Happy to be down the spinning rabbit hole (all my friends are here lol like you) !
Thank you Leanne. Hope you are having a rejuvenating summer.., how’s the spinning coming? Definitely loving it! Not getting any better… but having a blast! Take care and happy crafting👏🤗❤️
Hi Linda, that Kevat is gorgeous and you look beautiful in it.
Love the Stephen West shawl, great color choices.
That Felix is also going to be a beautiful sweater.
Good luck with the spinning, they say practice makes perfect, (not quite sure who THEY are, but sounds right😂).
Take care
Thank you! Happy crafting🤗
Another great episode ❤. Love everything you finished as well as your WIPs. Just a thought for fun needle stoppers for 2.25 mm needles. What I do is put the two needles together and slip them both into one needle stopper. I love Fox and Pines needle stoppers.😊. Hope that made sense. Look forward to your next podcast. 😊
Thanks for the tip!🤗
I'm also working on a Christmas in July advent blanket. So much fun! I'm knitting the mitered squares of the Cozy Memories blanket. The way you talk about framing your squares reminds me of the Stitch in Time Blanket by Kay Jones. Love the colors you chose!
I love the color choices for your Christmas blanket. I'm eager to start a blanket using the English Paper Folding approach that's used to make quilts using fabric but I'm going to make granny squares and do it that way. Love your WIPS the colors and style of those tops. I'm currently working on the Mid Ocean Tee by Beth McDonald Stone but need to purchase the Pothos Tee. It's gorgeous. I hope you have a lovely summer.
Hi Sharon- I hope you are enjoying… fall/winter? I love the look of EPP but the process looks a bit scary to me. Would love a pic- are you on Ravelry?
Perfect 'scheepjes' pronuciation, by the way!
Yay👏👏❤️
Just finished my first Ranunculus. I had not knit anything for myself in 20 years or so. I mostly gift knit, which I am also doing. I have decided that the rest of this year
and most of next year, I
will knit garments for me.
Congratulations! And I fully support your “knits for me only” approach! You deserve to enjoy the fruits of your crafting🤗
It’s funny how you suddenly find yourself making your own trend like you and your blues. My trend is floofie right now. I’m knitting my first love note using Suri silk for the first time. Next up will be a cardigan with drops air in fuchsia. And I’ve just gone crazy with a knitpicks order and ordered sweater quantities in Oceana and Snuggle Puff.
I love floofy!!!Just bought soma Drops Wishbone Super sale… we shall see what comes of it ❤️. A Love Note in Suri will be luxury… yum - and who doesn’t need a pink cardi. All the projects sound lovely… happy Crafting🤗
Oooohhh Linda, I love your Kevät, what a beautiful pattern.🤩It’s on my list too.
And yes, you pronounced Scheepjes very excellent.😂
I have little tulip needle minders (from the brand Tulip I thought), which fit on my 2,25 mm needles.
Happy knitting, my dear friend.🩷
Glad so got the pronunciation correct… whew! … and …. i have little tulips too!!!👏👏👏Thank you to Loes❤️… can’t wait for November- big hug🥰
@@forthefunofknit5322 hahaha that was so kind of Loes.🥰 Yes, so much looking forward to that weekend and hugging you and Clasina again, my sisters from another mother 🤣😍😘
Dear Linda, I saw a sample for a blanket like yours: Begin each square with a solid colour like some rows white or black, the result after combining them are framed colours. Another tip: I knit only one single square and knit together all the others while casting on only the half amount of stitches and take the other half out of the first square plus one for the middle.
Thank you so much for the tip. I am still noodling what I which “style” of mitered square I want. I really like the idea of joining as I go and your suggested approach for adding the border makes sense. Thanks again and happy crafting🤗
Measure from ankle bone to floor. That is length to knit the heel flap. Mine is 2.5 inches, hubby is 3.5 inches, extra stitches get decreased through the gusset.
T y for answering my question ❤
Imo, Yoke depth can be anything you want it to be, regardless of where you create your underarms. Eg, the gorgeous ranunculus in aran or worsted.....meant to be a super oversized chunky monkey in original pattern with low underarms. People make them in dk and the underarms are nearer the natural underarms. Some patterns have yokes written into the going beyond the underarm area. Still gorgeous ❤❤❤
Jimmy Beans has kid silk in fuchsia
I give you a 10 for your pronounciation of Scheepjes if that is the best 😉 I love all your makes. I made the Kevatt too but I used the light(marled) as background and the darkbrown as the contrast and I love that shirt. The Felix is also in my Wip's but in a dark brown.
Yay me! Thank you for watching and your colour pallet sounds lovely! Happy crafting🤗
On your blanket, maybe do the blocks on the diagonal.
Oooh… that sounds like a fun option- stay tuned!
I have heard but not tried yet myself that silicon beads can also make good stitch stoppers. Maybe you can find some with a smaller hole for smaller needles.
Thanks for the tip!🤗
Coco knits makes stitch stoppers in varios sizes. The package has very large to very small sizes. Any ysrn shop thst csrries covoknits will have them.
Fleece and Harmony has Fuchsia Kid Silk Haze on their website. Love your UA-cam shows! ❤
Instead of Crocs, try Chaco clogs. More comfortable for me because they have an arch and and adjustable strap. Today was the last day of 40% off.
Hi Nancy-Thank you for the suggestion. Much appreciated🤗
Thanks for sharing my shop Linda ❤️
I didn’t read thru all the comments, but even tho the yarn you need is not for sale, ask if they would be willing to sell and why you need it and you might be surprised. Good luck. I live in Georgia now and so Envy all your Woolley sweaters you can knit.
Ah… but you get to knit in all things silk! Do you have a favourite warm weather knit?
Agreed. They may have forgotten it is in their stash and be willing to part with it for a knitter in needed.
Fleece and harmony in PEI have kid silk haze in fuschia. I enjoy your podcast. Betty
Thank you Betty👍
Wow! The kevat is absolutely beautiful, so classy
Thank you Evelyn!🤗
I got to thinking about your comment that your stitches are different sizes. I have that issue when I'm purling, like on wrong side for short rows. Well darned if I didn't learn from Suzanne Bryan this week (googled rowing out) that you should knit/purl a stitch on the tip of your needle not on the shaft, and avoid pulling yarn/fabric between stitches. Andrea Mowry suggests purling by wrapping the yarn the other direction from usual technique as this uses less yarn. Doing the above on two projects and the tension is looking good! Maybe not news to you but maybe it is!
Totally new news to me!… great tips- thank you for sharing.🤗
❤fun catch up. Linda,,,love ur sweaters🎉🎉
ELAINE 🏡💕
Love the color on the Felix Pullover! Beautiful. Spinning is definately on the radar for me too!
Your Kevat is lovely! Fit, colour, style - all excellent!
Your Kevat ensemble is beautiful!! And I get what you mean, the whole ensemble is so wearable though!
Thank you🤗
I’m a big fan of Caitlin Hunter’s pattern. Both of yours are beautiful.
Thank you so much!🤗
Re. your mitered square blankets - look at the podcast from Ina Knits. She's a Norwegian podcaster and she has put a tutorial on You Tube about how she put hers together.
Linda your finished knits are just beautiful 😍. I keep seeing new things I want to make from your videos 🤣
Thank you Mia- very kind of you to say🤗
I love needle minders too. I just put both needles together in one minder. 😊
You look great in your cevat, Linda!
Thank you so much🤗
A great Podcast, thank you. In my humble opinion I love the Kevat on you. I prefer it to the large pink sweater, even though it's very nice. Now, you've set me on a path to make Pothos, which is gorgeous. I love your color.
Misbehaving bobbles😂 I find there’s something to be learned in each project I knit… and like you I don’t mind if there’s mistakes- they’re learning opportunities. ETA- pink goes so well with your hair color
Totally agree about the learning opportunities… every project is unique even if it not the first time you are knitting a particular pattern! Also- Thank you for the compliment🤗Happy Knitting
Lovely knits. I like the idea of pairing the speckled/variegated/striped Christmas yarn squares with a solid to make a larger square, then outlining the four with the cream. I think the colours would showcase nicely. Have fun with your spinning! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching Donna… I am going to try a few variations and see what resonates. Happy crafting🤗
The Kevat is beautiful. The works in progress section is so inspiring, going to be a fantastic addition to Finished objects. Good luck with the spinning. As always enjoyed your podcast! Thanks
Thank you Heather… glad you enjoyed. Happy Crafting🤗
Great podcast Linda, beautiful knits, love your choice of yarn for the Felix jumper 🧶
Thank you Rose… have a great day🤗
Dear Linda, I'm a Tour de Fleece participant in Denmark - I like the idea that so many people all over the world are spinning while the Tour de France is going on! My goal for this year is to spin enough yarn for the Shifty by Andrea Mowry! Last year I was a beginner and as you, didn¨t know what I was doing 😂but I couldn't care less and now I'm a much more skilled spinner - so go for it Linda, keep spinning! And thank you for reminding me of the Felix pullover, I've got the perfect yarn for it - it'll be my next project! Enjoy your summer! ☀
Thank you for watching and for the encouragement! So far I have spun every day. Not sure my yarn is getting better but I am very much liking the process🤗 Your shift will be amazing… what colours are you spinning and with what type of fibre?
I'm watching with my early-morning coffee and my Christmas in July knit...the Granny Pop V-neck in a slow colour-changing yarn in Christmas colours. It's crochet, which I'm not used to...I can definitely feel different muscles being used, so I'll have to crochet just a bit at a time.
Fox and Pine now has a set of stitch stoppers for needles down to 2mm...they are shaped like llamas. I have a set and they work great ❤
Good Morning Sandra☀️… OMG…. Purchasing the Granny Pop immediately! Lovely… and curious as to what yarn is colour changing in Christmas colours? Sounds like a great project and if I am not mistaken… pretty quick. Will Check out Fox and Pine again… not sure how I missed those?… Happy Crafting🤗-Linda
Love your knits, Linda!!
I love your colour choices in yarn!! So inspiring!!
Sorry, me again - I bought the needle stoppers from Coco Knits and there are various sizes in the pack. I have used them on small circumstance needles and they are great
Great tip! Thank you Alice🤗
Another wonderful podcast! I now have 4 new patterns added to my list!! So many beautiful things to knit, and not enough time! I did just finish a Tresoro sweater for myself, and my third Lego blanket for my grandsons' birthdays. I am also making them each an Eva Cardigan for Christmas--getting an early start on some gifts. And, I'm making myself a Trelawny Top with some handspun my son and DIL gave me. Sadly, I am going to miss Flock this year. Too much going on. Have fun--and be sure to check out JEMS yarn!
Hi Claudia… love all things Isabel Kraemer!! And lucky grand kids. Have a great July 4th- 🤗
Rowan Kid Silk Haze in Fuschia is available at For Yarn Sake in Portlend, Oregon, USA. As of this comment they have 8 available
Thank you!👍
So many lovely works! I recently bought stitch stoppers from Fox and Pine also. They are adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! 😊
I found some fuschia rowan kid silk haze on ebay
Wool warehouse in the UK has Rowan kidsilk in fuchsia-714. I’ve ordered from them and they are reliable.
Thank you Theresa🤗
Always love to watch your podcast. Thank you Linda for all the links to the tutorials, really appreciate that and will be checking them all out. Just wondering if you crocheted or knitted the little purple bag behind you, on the bench under the window, and if so, what is the pattern? Thinking my Grandaughters might like one each. Have a wonderful week, happy knitting. :)

Your channel is so me! I love everything you knit. I have had the Felix pattern for a couple months inspired my Sara from Yarn Muggs podcast. She has made two and raves about how much she loves knitting it. So I bought the pattern and forgot about it. Seeing hour in progress Felix has me motivated to make one. I only work on one project at a time. I just started the Crescendo summer tee as when I finish it I will cast on the Felix. I know I have yarn in my stash. Sweet ❤
So glad you are enjoying! What yarn will you knit the Felix with?
I have a couple options. Probably Cascade . I can’t do moe hair so I will sub alpaca lace from knit picks.
Love all the sweaters!! Lots of ideas!! The colors for your Christmas blanket are fabulous! I’m doing the Knitmas in July 2024 shawl and I’m using line green, turquoise, raspberry and purple as my “modern” Christmas colors. 🎄
Love the modern Christmas colour palette!!! Happy knitting❤️
All of your sweaters were stunning! I have been thinking about doing a blanket and your plan is very interesting to me. Have a great summer!❤
Thank you Janet - still undecided on the “approach” but will try a few options once I have knitted a few more squares. 🤗
Hello Linda, how many balls of Make it tweed did you use? Lay your mitred squares out on the floor as you mentioned and see what looks best. Mixed up or the 2x 2 colours you described. I have Beth McDonald Stone's pattern to do in Jupiter Moon Áine Mulberry silk in a salmon pink.
So glad you didn't give away that brighter pink yarn: the Felix sweater you are making is the perfect colour for you
Thank you🤗
Fleece and Harmony yarn store on PEI carries the most Rowen yarn in Canada. Maybe they have your colour!❤️🇨🇦❤️
Thank you!
For you Felix… why not do a fade out at the bottom hem and bottom sleeves to just using the yarn you CAN get? I think that would be lovely.
Thank you for watching and… a great idea for an alternative- thank you🤗
Loved your Kevat top! ❤ I was worried when you selected linen for colorwork and the final result is absolutely perfect!!!! It's in my library for years and you made me want to cast on now 😂 thank you
So Glad you liked it- happy knitting🤗
Wool warehouse in the UK have Rowan kidsilk haze colour 714 fushia listed as in stock. Hope that helps.
Thank you!… will check it out🤗
Linda, is the Kidsilk Fuchsia color #714? If so, I found it on Amazon. Sure hope that's the one!
Thank you Shelley!
I knit the Lento with malabrigo sock and silk mohair. I like malabrigo but it stretches a ton. Did the mohair reduce the stretch? Nope. Oh well. Elastic in the neck then. The sleeves were supposed to be three quarter length. Full length now 😂
Hi Susan… sounds like we both like oversized garments- lol- good thing! Happy crafting 🤗
Maybe you can get some more yarn here
Great video. I watch while I knit. You mentioned Knitty Kate (the camping knitter), could you let me know what her youtube site is. I can’t seem to find it. I also knit and camp, so I’m interested to view her site. (CounselorSue - The Variety Show), Sue over here in Ontario.
Good Morning! I got the name of the podcast wrong- apologies… it is The Knitty Kats

@@forthefunofknit5322 thank you so much. I am about to head out for a 4 day camping in the forest on Lake Huron. I can download the podcast and watch it later once camp is set up. Cheers, and thanks for such a quick reply.

I was trying to find a link to the Pothos Tee but it doesn't seem to be on Ravelry. Is it a test knit?
Hi- look for Beth MacDonald Stone podcast ( or Ravelry) Episode 14🤗
