Add up all your labour bills bud, paint, garage, paying other Garages for warranty work, valleting, I bet you've got to sell a helava lot of cars to cover things. A handy guy (Pete or similar) paint prep, mechanical, vallet at say 100 quid a day, on a self employed type basis, someone on hand, you'd be quids in. Imho anyway. You've got to be all in house if at all possible. You could even get work in, discs, pads, service stuff, just easy quick fit type stuff, say 120 for a small car service, 20 mins, parts 25 quid, you've got your man for free rest of the day. You could do with an experienced pair of eyes as well to point you in the right direction. Chops garage, but no mechanic mate (!)
Don't forget there are mechanics and mechanics. A neighbour has a 3 year old Vauxhall Mocca with 30K on the clock. The vehicle has begun using a lot of engine oil. He took it back to the Vauxhall main dealer but the "mechanics" cannot find the fault and just advised him to keep topping up the oil. Now if the main dealer mechanics are real mechanics then I'm Chinese.
It'll not have been the battery on that AA breakdown, if battery has started the car it isn't going to fail while driving, maybe the alternator not charging, a simple voltmeter would find out if it's charging, deffo not be the battery, unless she's parked up with lights on, then it's her fault anyway. Basically AA guy couldn't be bothered and advised a new battery, probably at 280 quid fitted (!)
