- As the electrification takes the country by storm, we have entered an era where our diesel hauled trains are cherishing their last glory days before the eventual successor ie. Electric engine takes charge of the trains.
Similarly, one such section enjoying it's final golden days is the majestic and scenic 'Konkan Railways'. The pole free section of Konkan Railways was always a treat to watch but even with the electric poles turning up, the charm still remains. But the bigger problem that a railfan can foresee is of the disappearance of the Diesel hauled trains which will happen once the Electric engines are commissioned with the commercial duty. So in the last Diesel days , I decided to pay a short visit to this amazing section to cherish the Diesel hauled premium trains of this route showcase their ruthless aggression one final time.
Just sit back and enjoy the 12 minute odd non stop high speed Diesel Bonanza as the EMD and Alco Twins hauled Superfast Trains unleash their aggression across the scenic spots of Konkan Railways . In this collage you can relish the MPS action of the premier trains of Konkan Railways like Karmali Tejas Express, Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Express, 'the Speed King' Trivandrum Rajdhani Express, Mandovi Express, Konkan Kanya Express and the rocket 'CSMT-Mangaluru Superfast Express'.

Hi Krishnan,
Few trains were slated to get Electric loco from 1st May, 22 but somehow due to some issues at Thivim station, the traction change process has been put on hold till further notice.
