after this episode I believe now more and more than ever there is a conflict and fight going to happen between thorfinn and canut as I said before. And i loved how he touch the scar when he talked about the farm and make people cry, it was like an Easter egg about facing thorfinn i guess
Yeah I agree! By bringing the farm into this it does seem like they'll come face to face with each other and clash. I'm actually so excited for a reunion between them
Requisitioning the farm would mean demanding use of it by official order, thereby essentially claiming the land...most likely without compensating Ketil for it.
@stewart1439 Canute didn't totally ban slavery, just capturing people as spoils of war to sell into slavery. Slavery could still be a punishment for crimes, that's how Thorfinn became a slave, because he attacked Canute, though it didn't really get explained in the show. People in debt could be put into slavery, like we saw with those two kids Ketil beat.
@@leontate8805 Also I'm pretty sure people would go insane if suddenly their property wasn't their property anymore. Forget about raising taxes, that would be the real fire starter.
Oh darn they flipped the order of the chapters but Bugeyes is still a welcomed character! He’s not the one I was thinking would show up this episode but the one I was talking about should def show up next week (I hope lol). Also yep that’s exactly how Leif found him and recruited him. He was following a lead of a Thorfinn but it turned out being bug eyes instead of our thorfinn lmao Anyways kinda terrifying how Canutes is thinking a whole lot like Askeladd now huh lol
Oh haha guess I'll meet them in the next one then, looking forward to it. I think it's sweet that Leif took Bugeyes in despite him not being his Thorfinn. Yeah now that you're saying it Canute is thinking in a very Askeladd way, scary
You gave King Canute the benefit of the doubt (its adorable tho). Once Canute mentioned requisitioning farms i knew Ketil is done for. My prediction is that Canute will use Olmar to kill his own dad so he can seize his farm, that way Thorfinn and Canute will meet again. Im curious whether Canute will free the slaves or not since he forbad slavery in ep 5. Everything is connecting and i love it
I tried to see the good in him aha 😅 noooo oh god I hope Olmar doesn't kill him, that would be brutal. This is leading to Canute and Thofrinn reuniting though which I am excited for!
Mai have you heard of the anime "Kubo won't let me be invisible"? It's adapted from an amazing manga and has 6 episodes out rn and 6 more are coming in about a month. Its an adorable, heart warming story and I think would make a good reaction series after Vinland or to your eternity ends. Keep up the great work🙏
I'm pretty sure Olmar is just supposed to be a representation of a person trying to become a "man" but has no idea what that means and the society he's raised in isn't exactly helpful. In this world, it's worse to be seen as a coward than it is to be seen as unreasonable or violent.
I think his character is what we should root for rather than the vikings or soldiers, i think he will eventually realize that war is terrible but in the hard way
@The Magnificent Steiner this, he's easy to hate but he's just desperately trying to do what society deems is "correct", he just ain't that guy. Not to mention he has a brother and a father that are/were supposedly "badass" warriors, I don't blame him for a second in the way he acts tbh. He's just a bit of a dope lol
Yep, I feel like a lot of people don't realize how good of a character he is (if one-note) he represents a very important aspect of society at this time
can you watch the anime Tomo Chan wa onnanoko? the anime is about the love story of school children but with the main character being a tomboyish girl, the romance feels good
Am I the only one who gets the vibe that Wulf helped Canute in poisoning his brother? Canute was arrogant enough to challenge God, saying things like he'll decide: "...which deaths are worthy"and Askeladd didn't mind that, I dont think he chose Canute thinking he'd be kind, I think he chose to follow him, because he had a different vision compared to other Norsemen (building paradise). So him killing his brother and calling it worthy is not surprising... It's just in our faces like some of the horrible things Askeladd did.
Yep. A lot of people forget that Askeladd wasnt a good man in any sense of the word. All he cared about was his land. The suffering of any other peoples didnt move him one bit, they were all parasites to him. Rome and Wales, thats what mattered to him.
@@manumainio that's the genius of his character writing, because he did terrible things and a few good, without him actually changing... his character was constant, but a lot of things he did surprised people, made some angry and he charmed the fandom.
Oh you think so? I don't know, maybe I'm biased in liking Askeladd and seeing a better version of him but I still don't think this is quite what he saw in Canute back then
@@OtakuMai Askeladd believed in his Mother & her people's legend, "Aurtorius's return". Canute was different in other Vikings, due to his vision and what he wanted as king. So Askeladd still used the girl as double... anyways all am saying is it's all about the end goal... building paradise on earth.

This may cause issues with the retainers, will he then force them to work and take their freedom? He did ban slavery in ep5.
Canute is a fcking asshole... i really hate him now

@@leontate8805 okay that makes a lot of sense. I guess we can't describe Canute as "idealistic", he's just different from traditional Vikings.
the 2nd hand embarrassment from olmar is real😂
I almost couldn't stand it it was so baddd 🥲
If Canute really want to take over the farm, He better take with the workers & slave too.

He didnt forbid slavery lmao. He just didnt let his forces raid because he actually had to rule the land after conquering it.

I think the correct word should be Expropriation, no requisitioning
Yeah, 'requisition' is too nonbelligerent. I think that was an inconsistency by the translators
@@TheSteiner12 I agree
Ahhh okay I understand
Very fun great Viland Saga reaction video Otaku Mai!!
Thank you!
How about that pork chop scene? Olmar really needed that.
He learned how to draw his sword at least.
requisition here meant as "Take over"
Got it 👍
It was a really nice impression. Good luck, sister. + I wanted to ask you, have you seen Naruto or not yet? And Ramadan Kareem 🖤
Thank you! I actually just started watching Naruto but I'm not reacting to it, just watching it in my own time
