  • The Ben Aaron Show - Season 2 - Week 47
This week I listened to Led Zeppelin and tried to write a similar rock song. I was also challenged by the Subreddit, Songaweek, to write about PATIENCE. Realizing this video is longer than 11 minutes, it seems very fitting. Sit tight, this song rocks... Wait for it.

Really good, the only thing i would say is that the drums needed to be louder, cus when the guitar came in it didnt feel like it had as much grit as it could have.

Valid. Its still pure class but louder drums would sound more accurate to the Zeppelin sound because John Bonham slapppppped them puppies

The little “oh well, I guess that was ok” shrug you gave in the vocalist window of the video at the end of the song was completely hilarious because the vocal performance here was as confident and Plant-esque as anyone could hope for. This was a brilliant song Ben!

Great video, with very nice analysis and informations about Led Zeppelin. A band that I really love!
Great original song, which has really the ability to capture he band's sound and atmosphere. Great music, with acoustics that really remind me of Jimmy Page. Then all become more powerful and it's really Zeppelinesque! Great lead guitar playing! And great singing, too, of course! Let me add tat i always love to see some clps form your live shows. :)

Hi, Ben. Hope you’ve been doing well. Led Zep is one of my all time favorite bands. What a fantastic Led Zep influenced song you wrote.......outstanding. When you’re talking about dynamics, you really pulled it off, some great buildup there. Like the way you walked us through the way you wrote the song too. :) Janet

Excellent video Ben! To be honest Led Zeppelin are one band I haven't really listened to, so I found this quite inspiring! Definitely like the idea of a song starting off as a soft acoustic and then transitioning to a hard rock song! Might try to do a song like this myself! I'll definitely have to check them out! Enjoyed your new song, and great theme to sing about! 🙂

    • @benaaronmusic

Oh my goodness, Louise! If there is one band I've talked about that you should listen to, it's Led Zeppelin. Please listen to the album, Led Zeppelin IV all the way through when you have the time. It is one of their best. There are big rock songs, but also gentle acoustic ones as well. It's brilliant.

Nice song and great attempt. But this sounds like your typical, modern blues-rock song. No offense intended. :P
Very hard to figure out, since many of those bands tick off many of the checkboxes.
My guess: each instrument either follows/counters the guitar in some way, yet would be enjoyable to listen to when unaccompanied. This forces each instrument to create their own song, with their own rhythms and melodies. When combined, this clashing (polyrhythmic?) makes the music sound complex and powerful.
I don't know. Also, raise the volume on that drum and bass. Thanks for the video.
