A Dempster Residential Front Loader Garbage Truck on Construction Waste

- Here is a video of something you don’t see often. This is a residential front loader made by Dempster. This garbage truck was specially designed to work well with residential routes. It was designed to be built with speed in mine and focus less on the heavy duty build with most front loading garbage trucks. This is what makes this truck so special. This garbage truck was never designed to be used to handle the rough and bulky nature of construction waste. However in this case the driver in the truck work hard to fit as much trash as possible.
This is definitely a rare treat to see.

This truck definitely shouldn't be on a commercial route but the dude still did his thing. Loved how he slammed those cans.
Yeah, I agree. A construction debris route and this truck isn't exactly what the truck designers had in mind. I am glad this driver had some fun dumping the cans.
I enjoyed seeing this finally, and almost wonder if it was designed for the body to be raised every once in awhile... because that seems almost a better packing method than the sloped plate they have in there. also enjoyed the dumpster variety, some slant backs, other flat tops, at least one even had bottom slots. thanks for the video Colby

Just a good old school truck from a day of the past!
This design is what made Dempster go out of busness. They used a half height packing blade with no scrape wall behind the upper slider panel sending the trash above the cab. That is why the body had to be tipped to make it fall forward of the packer blade. The Amrep half blade frontloader will run circles around this flop.
Very rare to see especially in California, this truck has to have some kind of exemption from the emissions laws lol. Good you captured it before it gets shut down

You know I'm a champion and a cheerleader for the oddball bodies like this one, but I will have to admit, this is a terrible front loader design. It certainly doesn't help that the driver is being very sloppy at the controls.
I said the same thing. He not tilting the can enough which is causing the garbage to go everywhere but inside the hopper
Poorly designed truck
That's the truth, this truck was meant for residential collection, with semi auto style. It was never meant for industrial waste, lol.
