My head is spinning again! But not as much as before. Although I need to go back through the series one or two more times, it's becoming clearer. I'm actually critiquing other urban street switching plans I've found to locate their runarounds and their inefficiencies.
    Ready for whatever comes next!

Sounds like you go the track plan fever ;-)
Did you see the miniseries that starts at video 52? That might be helpful for you if you want to model mainline Pennsy.

Great series of videos, great to see such a detailed explanation of railroad operations. One thing I may suggest, just personal preference, I like to have the interchange track be the track that actually runs off the layout into a staging cassette or staging track out of view. This allows me the opportunity to actually physically run cars in from off layout behind some big road locomotive before being transferred over to my local branch layout so I have an opportunity to run different locos than I would normally on a daily basis. The interchange track then runs right up to a small classification yard so that cars that are ready to go off layout can be picked up when the engine comes in with new drop offs to enter my layout. This just allows an additional fun element rather than manually picking up and putting down random cars on an interchange track by hand. There is a also an opportunity to create a small locomotive servicing area in this spot as you can refuel and sand the road locomotives coming in from off layout as well as service your own locomotives going to the classification yard. Thanks again and keep all these great videos coming!

      Thanks Lee,
Suggestions are always welcome. It's all a tradeoff. I could make the PRR interchange a hidden staging, at the expense of the car float and associated operations (video 87). If i had more space I would make them hidden and bigger. Especially the CMStP&P is small. In a polishing stage ill try to add a few cars to it.
For operations I generally don't swap my cars out much. Just the car cards. I could however make the float into a cassette.

@@DubaiTrains Thanks for the reply! Actually starting building my new layout now, a small point-to-point L shape on a shelf... Following your progress for information and inspiration all the best to you!

      Your welcome.
HO for me. And even that I find so small. If i had the space I would do it in O!
