Bionicle heroes on the ps2 was fire although I don't remember much lol. it was kind of like lego Star Wars with different bionicles needed for different tasks and you could eventually unlock Makuta (? or some other evil guy) as a playable character which was sick too
I must be living the best timeline, but I feel like a piraka, greedy, fun fact "piraka" is a word in Bionicle that means, pirate, murderer, criminal, it's mostly an insult, or a mark, bad omen. Zaktan and his crew owned that for sure.
It's honestly very impressive what the writters of the Bionicle lore build, and I hope they continiued to write storys like this after Bionicle was exed. Also this lore just get's ever more insane the deeper one dives e.g. one of the resisting Matoran on Voya Nui -Velika i Think- turned out to be a disguised 'great one' way down the line - Baiscly a Bionicle god.
I grew up with Bionicle. Going through the first stories was a trip. Completely forgot they made 3 different movies outta this IP and i forgot. They were such a big part of my life back then.
The best part of the lore, The Ignition Trilogy. Such great music in the commercials and mini movies, and great looking figures, Marhi had the best looking ones of the Trilogy.

Commenting as a footnote for the last video, only error that i noticed ws the description of the mask collection. The masks you detailed were the masks they arrived with, their locations had to so with where the toa arrived because they need to first mask to power them and their powers. Without their masks they are depleted and weak. They collect the other 5 masks which are counterparts to the other toa in their element and once they complete that they have access to all masks powers and full elemental powers.
This is a good series. I loved Bionicle as a kid and I still like it today. I really wish we got a sequel to the movie "The Legend Reborn". I can't wait for the next video chapter of this story

I never understood the 3rd movie. I happened to be talking with my girlfriend when I came across these videos. I never realized just how much lore there was behind this series
I still remember the twist we got from Turaga Dume after the Matoran returned to Metru Nui. “The Great Spirit is not awake. He is dying.” We went from thinking that evil was defeated for good and that a new golden age would begin to learning that the entire Matoran Universe would die and that there’s only a faint hope of saving everyone. Just imagine being just an average Matoran during this. To know that after the greatest victory in history you are now faced with the end of the world and you can do nothing but wait and see if there’s a future or if everything will end. Then there’s the fact that practically no one else knew that the universe was dying. Can you imagine just waking up one day and you find out that the sun is gone without any warning whatsoever? Because that’s basically what it would be like to live in a dead Matoran Universe.
Who heard "2006" and felt OLD? Just me? I still think I have the comics in my parent's home back home? I did NOT realize they are almost 2 decades old (in another year or two, but STILL).
Damn, this makes me wish that someone would continue where the movies left off, and adapt these stories in animated form (and maybe even update some of the old animations from before the movies)
Man, the ignition saga was _dark_. I do really like book four of legends a lot, though. Gives a basic timeline of the world, and shows the backstory of the piraka
I owned about 15 of these figures but never knew about the lore simply made up my own... Nice to see that kid me had some similar ideas atleast in concept.
I wish they would bring bionicle back im a grown ass man and I hate that it went away and they never brought back when I was a kid. Wish I had all my old ones for my sister's kids

I love Bionicle but my only lore about them was from some Bionicle Comics, a Movie, and a Video Game. The Masks kept changing though. Some were cool, some were meh, and some just didn't have it.
Well this part seems a whole lot less hopeful so many bad things happening at the same time are great heroes have been taken captive and the ones that have been sent to save them have ended up captured by a demigod that wants nothing but to enslave them and to turn them into his submissive puppets
Bionicle lore is awesome, but let’s be honest most of the movies had poor writing and bad pacing. I started them dozens of times as a kid and rarely finished them. And without the books, most of the movies seem completely incongruent to each other
I feel like this series could have lasted if the charactera had easier names.. Also, "WHEN ALL YOU GOT TO KEEP IS GONE, MOVE ALONG, MOVE ALONG LIKE I KNOW YOU DO"!

It doesn't. The timeline from the Toa Mata arriving until the end of Bionicle is about 2 years.
