#Vaporwave #telepath #猫 シCorp.
Thanks Pad! and thanks everybody for your kind words!
Already bought both the CD and Vinyl. So happy to finally have some of your work on vinyl. Thanks 猫 シ Corp.
you're a genius !
Thank you for your work. It is art, it is beautiful, and it brings joy. Stay awesome!
every day vaporwave evolves and gets much bigger
I’m very proud of it
Hideika OuO
One of the only living breathing genres
Yeah, i really like the new direction what takes.
Favorite is still Saint Pepsi, just classic vaporwave and got me into other genres like City Pop as well!
can't go wrong with the classics! fav saint Pepsi album?
My favorite is probably Windows96. I just kinda found One Hundred Mornings on Spotify and instantly fell in love.
so damn gooooood
all thier stuff is amazing
you should totally listen to Enchanted Instrumentals and Whispers, their 2019 release!
This album is a legendary ambient album. Super fucking chill.
Favorite vaporwave artist is no doubt George Clanton. His music and vocal-driven style is what brought me into the scene. The dude has given so much to the community through his music, live shows, putting together the very first vaporwave festival, etc. He performed 3 shows in a wheelchair with a broken fucking leg. He’s a legendary member of the vaporwave community, and it wouldn’t be the same without him.
Georgie is a nutttt love that man... his show in Brooklyn I caught a couple months back was insanity
Dang, vaporwave is a very interesting mix of feelings, happy yet sad, old yet new, that's what makes it so interesting to listen to.
I'm a simple man I see pad I click
I my favorite artist has to be cat system Corp because of the mallsoft he makes it makes you fell like you are still a kid and you are getting dragged to the mall.
I leik firetruck and monsertruck
I really like Death's Dynamic Shroud because of its obscurity and mysteriousness
Nodles ;-; yes!!
My favorite artist is probably George Clanton, I really like his more traditional vaporwave stuff and his most recent album Slide really gave off some nostalgic and hopeful vibes that I could not stop listening to. Really helped me get through my senior year of high school. 👌🏼
Vaporwave just keeps dividing itself into more and more incredible sub-genres. Those sub-genres evolve and become something beautiful.
mitosis
@@redapplefour6223 more like fractals
Sylvie Rose definitely fractosis in my estimation
i'd have to say 猫 シCorp. is my favorite, with g r o c e r i e s coming in close second
i'm a sucker for some good mallsoft, and they're the two best in my eyes
Deaths Dynamic Shroud or Blank Banshee probably, I just love the journeys they take me on
two absolute legends Steve!
Eco virtual because I love the 80s news channel vibe and of course how aesthetic his music is
yessss, love it!
I love all of your stuff Pad. One quick question for you if you ever end up seeing this, is the Vaporwave Essentials series over?
haircuts for men is my favorite. I just thoroughly enjoy the textures brought out in the albums "1982" and "jazz and milk breaks rebroke"
Haircuts For Men Is the Maestro of Vaporwave, i miss his music on Spotify
im a huge fan of the self production and break from sampling! truly new!!!
nothing wrong with a lil splash of newness!
My favorite vaporwave artist is Saint Pepsi. Beats almost always go hard, and delivers an idealistic 80's vibe that while it's obviously "plastic", still gets you nostalgic and almost (strangely) optimistic. That's vaporwave/future funk for me! Unlike other artists, he achieves to be immersive in fun hit singles that don't require a certain environment or a lot of "mental work".
ahhh good ol saint pepzzz...cant wait to see him at electronicon ! are you going?
@@PadChennington I was hoping to but I won't be in the United States... Still I know it'll be an amazing event!!
INTERNET CLUB I'd say is my favourite vaporwave artist because i find their music describes the genre as a whole, and every song i listen to by them sounds so nostalgic of the late 80's/early 90's
猫 シ Corp.
is my favorite because he allows me to get lost in whatever I am doing. It doesnt matter if I'm sitting at my desk or walking in my neighborhood, his music transports me to an almost other worldly and nostalgic destination that reminds me so much of growing up in the early 00s, a time when we were still riding the coat tails of the 80s and 90s. At that time, everything through my childs eye was old and tired but now as an adult I can look at it through rose colored glasses and see just how special it was to me.
My favorite Vaporwave artist is Blank Banshee.
I discovered him on summer vacations, everyday my best friend and I would go running, we would eat out or simply walk on the streets of Orizaba because we hadn’t seen each other in years, we had so much to talk about, one of those days i showed him BB’s first album which I had discovered on UA-cam watching a video of a dude talking about the history of vaporwave. He liked it a lot and we used to listen to it everywhere, at times we wouldn’t even talk, we were so mesmerized by the music.
We enjoyed the most listening to it on the rooftop of my house with a drink or two.
I listen to it every now and then and I can feel the sun from that summer, feel the cool wind at night and the feeling of freedom I had back then...
I was younger and didn’t have any responsibilities lol
Vaporwave is getting better and better every second
I love Saint Pepsi because "Enjoy Yourself" was the very first Vaporwave song I ever heard, and I can now say the genre has quickly become my favourite
I love Skeleton, it inspired a lot of the dread I use in my music.
Eyeliner, his music is the embodiment of the fully automated retro future of Vaporwave at its finest, both soothing and dancey.
Something that I love about this album is how much the album art helps the music and the atmosphere that it's setting. I feel like if this had another typical vaporwave cover with a picture of a mall or an old Pepsi ad that it wouldn't nearly the same effect. It's like, you see the album art and then you hear the music and the music is pushing your mind further and further into the world on the album cover until you're in it. I just love it.
This album. Oh man, this album. We were all hyped hearing that Cat System was making a complete re-imagining of Cat's idea of sampleless vaporwave. Then, we heard the thing that would blow our minds: it's a collab album. It's a collab album with telepath. We collectively could not hold in our excitement to hear after that preview earlier in the year. With it out now, I can 100% say this is Cat and telepath at their sincerest. This is the most dream-like landscape they have both created so far, as if they had went to bed the same time and slept in the future.
To think, vaporwave is now ten years old, and this is the product of ten years of progression from using samples to a complete ambient rebirth. It's that nostalgia and sort of naughty smile of skewering the past, it now the very same excitement of the future what people were doing during the early 80's. This is the future brought to life once again. It truly building a better world for vaporwave.
This isn't also just a thing for the album itself, it's the release of it. Cat and Telepath spared no expenses for it and decided that the major formats got love. we have numerous vinyl releases, various cassettes, and even a little something for CDs in the form of a format I wasn't even thinking I could remember. I'm an owner of the CD, and I can tell you it sounds exactly like something I would hear on my old IBM if I plopped the CD in there. We've gone from a complete joke of a genre to something that is legitimately trying to catch that dreary and dreamy landscape that not even the most apt of lowkey or ambient are touching. What we're touching on is an important album for electronic enthusiasts. This isn't simply an important vaporwave album. This is an actual movement that is taking shape right on the internet, and two producers that are making their name in history. I can tell you, this will be along the same as important albums like Dark Side of the Moon or Nevermind that created a sound and feel of a musical movement. A signification of the times of that culture during the 2010s to 2020s where that dreamy future never came. The gap of people in the 50s to the 2000s could almost taste a Jetsons future, and we got Wall*E instead. That is palpable in terms of what we can feel for generations told to put the future on hold. Now, with this album? It's that dream once again, coming from the ruins of what vaporwave was originally, and it is a longing and aching look to what we really could do on a world if we truly want to see that future blossom.
Welcome to the future, citizens of Hierath. Please enjoy your stay at your new interplanetary home. We're delighted to have you with us.
My favorite artist is Dan Mason. I really like every one of his albums and his style keeps changing and never gets old.
ITSYABOI219219 Hypnagogia was actually a really good album. Shade absolutely slaps
luxury elite holds a special place in my heart because it is a double layer of nostalgia for me. I get the nostalgia of listening to the music with old samples, and the nostalgia for the artist themselves these days because I was a very different person when I first listened to them. They were the first vaporwave artist I listened to and I'll always hold a special place in my heart for them
I think 猫 シ Corp. is my favorite artist. I love how mallsoft brings back memories from when I was a kid, the 90s were going strong and stuff seemed more simple to me. When I see or listen to mallsoft stuff it's like a trip back to that time and I can finally relax from all the sh*t going on with the world, I can stop overthinking and just enjoy.
corpy baby is a killaaa!!!
Blank Banshee just gets me, you know? They’re so good
he holds it down definitely!
18 Carat Affair, Games, Skeleton, Waterfront Dining, (early) Cat System Corp., Lazership Stereo, DARKTWAINE....the list goes on and on.
My favorite vaporwave artists are ESPRIT (due to his consistency) and Whitewoods, because Spaceship Earth is a phenomenal callback to the 90s
*Wow, such physical variety! I guess with all these physicals, we could build a*
*better world*
I love 猫 シCorp.'s アウディAudi for the for the sense of being trapped in a utopian infomercial and CLASSROOM SEXXTAPE by death's dynamic shroud for their consistency and complexity. My absolute favorite album is Electric Specter 電妖怪 's Arctic Circuitry. Living near the Arctic Circle, the sense of dread of 24 hours of darkness is perfectly encapsulated in this album for me.
Catsystem Corp has to be my favorite! Palm Mall was the first vinyl I managed to get on release, and exploring vaporwave from there brought so much more music into my life!
This album has been my go-to commuting soundtrack, which is honestly great for taking the bus/train thru an early morning metropolis. The visuals that come to mind while I listen are so vivid and inspiring! This is definitely a wonderful first step into Building A Better World! :D
Awesome review as always, Pad!
猫 シ Corp. Is definitely my favorite, he has such a large catalog with varied styles. So many of his albums are my favorites to listen to. Then with this new style and collab with telepath? Too awesome.
Thanks!
My favorite VW artist is Death's Dynamic Shroud, dude, the sounds that they provide are so scary and emotional, yet so interesting.
I’m really interested to see to see where this label goes, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hiraeth becomes a powerhouse in not the vaporwave scene, but in ambient scenes as a whole.
My favorite vaporwave artist is waterfront dining, I think his choice in samples is superb.
First off, great video as usual! Lookin forward to peepin the record.
Second, I think my favorite would be EQUIP. When I was working on a joint project about a hypothetic A.I. author in my last semester of college, his record I Dreamed of a Palace in the Sky became my center, calming me down as I worked and allowing me a lush, synthetic landscape to think about in conjunction with my project. So, he just has this special place in my heart
I personally love Vaperror so much. His music really hits me right with his wild synths and smooth trappy beats just all blend beautifully together and make me either wanna dance or chillax to the max. Love your videos!
My favorite vaporwave artist is telepath. Their music brings you to another world, or our world in a parallel dimension. The subtle twists and turns in tracks morph and evolve into completely different feels sometimes without you even noticing.
Damn, can't wait to get my hands on this gem! My favourite vaporwave artist's gotta be HKE with his 2047 album
Windows96 had some really really nice tunes this year!
Windows 96 is my favourite for suuurreee, and plume valley is >
yezzzzz....love me some windows96 as well
Architecture in Tokyo just to pick one but World Tour and Sailorwave were both masterpieces
ahhh awesome picks... grab the sailor wave vinyl by any chance?
I rally love My boi Saint Pepsi, his songs made me appreciate the genre, and he makes me feel like I'm really in a prom in the 80's (despite the fact that I'm not american and I haven't been in a prom or in the 80's) it just feels magical.
I love that you have a job as a vapor journalist in a magazine now
I really like VAPERROR, his music is super chill but super upbeat at the same time, and I love that you can play it and get an amazing experience whatever your mood is
VAPERROR is a legend! makes a whole nice range of songs to really hit any mood just like you said
You know I gotta say vektroid is my favorite vaporwave artist, not just for macintosh plus but also for that sweet sweet old school stuff like Starcalc.
Vektroid has an awesome discography, really want to do a whole video on her work one day
Haircuts for Men just hits right with me, absolute bops each time, and the genre continues to evolve
ahhh yes, some good ol HFM..thanks for watching Miguel! hope all is well
My favorite Vaporwave artist is probably 猫 シ Corp just for his sleek yet nostalgic approach to vaporwave. 3D Blast and George Clanton/Esprit are also very close 2nds. Seeing Vaporwave grow, and seeing your channel grow makes me happy to be a part of the genre during this time. It’s something really special.
I don't really like one artist because I prefer getting lost in youtube playlist
But if I had to choose, saint pepsi
So hypeeeed for this album! And hands down, my favorite vaporwave producer is death's dynamic shroud.wmv, always come back to those dreamy synthy vibes
DDS
I just bought the CD, that purple back drew me in. Also Pad I'd love if one day you could make tips on like...how to vaporwave since you've been making music and albums recently. It's all so vast and its hard to know where to start ya know?
sure I can do that! that would be really fun to do actually..
I guess my favorite artist is christtt, i like the floaty and nostalgic feeling of the classic vaporwave but cristtt albuns always manage to put a nice melody amidst the waves of vapor.
So nice to hear u again ♡
Waterfront dining is my favorite vapor wave artist, because the soundscapes he creates such a sensual and vintage vibe. To me if want to show someone vaporwave show them waterfront dining
My favorite vaporwave artist is definitely a hard question, because I love what each one that I've heard brings to the table. deaths dynamic shroud's albums REGRET (not gonna try to type the Japanese characters) and I also liked DERELICT, as well. I loved Macintosh Plus's album Floral Shoppe, cause why wouldn't I? I'm also a big fan of what Yung Bae and Skylar Spence have brought to the table, especially on Skyscrapers Anonymous and Prom King. And I'm also a big fan of anything future funk related. Cat Systems Corps Palm Mall is absolutely beautiful though. Pad Chennington is dope artist too though.
Palm Mall by 猫 シ Corp, i watched your Mallsoft video a long while ago and i never understood why i fell in love with it, i just did. I blame you, of course, for falling into this music now as i missed the original vaporwave train a few years ago and am now catching up little by little with your videos as an Oogway style wise man of the mountain pointing me in a direction, whether it is the right or wrong one always seems to be up to me. Beautiful hoodie aside, thank you again for your videos. This is a kind of music that i don't think i would have been able to really get into without the help of people like you. Thanks.
Blank Banshee's probably my go-to if only because I can't tell you how many times I spun BB1 and Mega. They're probably two of my favorite albums in the genre.
Tbh I don't have a favorite artist. I just find what sounds good and listen too it and enjoy and relax
I feel you bb!
It's very hard for me to choose my favorite artist, but if I had to choose? It probably be Luxury Elite. When I was discovering vaporwave I feel into those compilation videos with Saint Pepsi, 猫 シCorp, Macross 82 ,but Luxury hooked me. The nostalgia sounds of being back in the shopping malls & KMarts when they were at their prime; and picture myself as a kid reliving those memories. And watching/listening to these artist evolve over the years is amazing! So glad that Corp did this collab because it's art!
If Telepath collabs with anyone, it becomes legendary and classic.
Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol. 1 to me is probably my favorite vaporwave record for more than just the record itself. there's just so much nostalgic value in the record for me personally, the artwork, the title, and the music altogether capture everything i feel is great about vaporwave but my attachment comes from how much i used to play the nightmare enducing ecco the dolphin back when i was younger
t e l e p a t h is probably my favorite at this point, very easy to get lost in their older stuff and the newer stuff has never disappointed me yet. Not a huge fan of this new album's artwork, but the content is wonderful.
tele's 2013-2015 was vaporware defining for sure!
This is easily my favorite ambient album ever, and my 2nd favorite Vaporwave album only behind 200% Electronica by George Clanton. It truly does take me
Infinities Frequencies is probably my favorite I really enjoy the melancholic/somber tones in their albums
I must admit after the 12th or 13th time i played through this album after watching this video, this may be my new groove. 猫 シ Corp. and t e l e p a t h have created an experience like flying through a city in the liking of Bladerunner, but with a beautiful indigo sky that never darkens, and purple oceans that go on forever. "Building a Better World
" is now my new favorite album. THANK YOU.
I have a lot of favorite artists but my most favorite so far is telepath mostly because of how hypnotic and trippy his music can get.
my favourite artist is telepath his best album is 2814 birth of a new day
honestly one of the best in vaporwave
An amazing album
My favorite album from Telepath
Have you preordered the Vinyl/casette bundle on dreamcatalogue? Its only 89.99 british pound and has a shirt in it too. I preordered earlier this week. Totally looking forward to it as I also find Birth of a New Day to be my favorite album by telepath.
@@Zach_Bloomquist I dont have money for that im 13 and i live in a country where ir would need to ship thro half of europ and that means that in my country it would cost 300 KM(Marks)
Honestly, I think the my favorite vaporwave aritist has just absolutely gotta be Death's Dynamic Shroud. The music itself does what many struggle to do in that it makes itself both emotional and mysterious. Living Like This is a plunderphonics and avant garde masterpiece
i would have to say my current favorite artist thats been on repeat for the past 3 months has been FM Skyline. the album Advanced Memory Suite is thoroughly catchy, has minimal at-most sampling, and flows with sharp meaningful textures. the album it self is not a journey, it has more of a dialogue ambiance, even with the lack of a vocal presence. after a few solid play through's, i find there is a subtle theme layered across the album thats reminiscent of twinkling sounds of silicon peppered through out these dialogues. you can find a very broad spectrum of emotions with this album. for instance, there are very serious and stern thematics in the track "sacrifice of saint dell" and then followed by "astral baths" which brings a passionate, relaxing focus as if to make you feel rewarded for the tough day at "sacrifice of saint dell"
I like dds, in my opinion they are the most experimental vaporwave group who still sounds good, although building a better world is pretty good. Also, there’s a song from the eighties that strangely evokes a lot of of the same feelings music like this does. Just search “watering a flower”. The comment section for this video is a treasure in itself
My favorite vaporwave artist has to be Blank Banshee, bc of his distinct style and his (very refreshing) use of samples in a genre where (sometimes) the "typical" vaporwave sound can get repetitive (I hope that made sense LOL)
I'll Try Living Like This is my fav vapewave album, it's the perfect music to dissasociate to, an amazing mix.
My twitter is @TakumiAleijado
Damn right lmao
My favorite Vaporwave Album is actually CatSystemCorp. His relaxing and adventurous Mall like music is good to work with. Telepath is algo a good listen while working so this album is so 10/10 for me
I meant Artist. not album x.x
I feel like Luxury Elite would be my fav. idk why but it just takes me back to the good ol days when I was playing Halo while my parents were singing some polish karaoke in the living room with their friends.
Man, those were the days.
I don't really have a favorite but Midnight Television is great for the classic throwback vibe and Haircuts For Men's got the smooth jams.
for me, mediafired was one of my favorite artists from the list of vaporwave essentials. gotta love classic slush.
I've never actually heard of mediafired before! got any recommended albums ?
Pad Chennington the only one I ever knew of was The Pathway to Whatever. Don’t know if they put out anything else, all I remember was that album. But the way it melded its hard rock source material into something drunken, hazy, and (gently) cacophonous was really enjoyable for me
Catsystem corp is my favorite vaporwave artist
telepath is my second fav
pad is my fav vaporwave channel
aka: my wetdream
I think my favorite artist is Groceries, because it reminds me of times where I didn't have a clue on what life really is and I just held the cart for my parents while they were arguing
I love Macross 82-99, he's so versatile and you can find a lot of different subgenres in his catalogue! I have to say Building a Better World has got to be one of my favourite albums though, expertly crafted and inspiring!
Love your channel man, Deaths Dynamic Shroud or 2814 is my favorite!
thanks so much! and nice! both great picks..
We will rise once again.
Death Shroud's Dynamic.wav because of all of the elements of chaos, sadness, and happiness all blended together
blank banshee has been my favorite because other than his music introducing me to the new style of vaporwave, i just like the samples and originality combo he puts in his music.
my favorite vaporware artist is probably going to be windows 96 because of my obsessive listening to both One Hundred Mornings and Enchanted Instrumentals and Whispers, because they make me feel as if I'm at a lake near a virgin mountain, untouched by a single human, or bathing with the two ladies on EI and W's album cover. Each time I listened to them I would just feel utterly relaxed and far removed from the mundane school and papers. Both albums have been my favourite albums, EI&W is still currently my favourite album.
my favorite tracks on each of them are Caligula and Hazy trip.
honourable mentions would probably be Vaperror and telepath, both having very varied sounds, vaperror is very energetic with sounds such as Polychromatic compiler to Acid Arcadia, and Telepath having slow drifting sounds to teleport you away when having a stressful day.
My favorite vaporwave/glitchwave artist is LILLITH twin. Not the most groundbreaking or genre-defining producer in the scene, but is definitely never boring, and always makes interesting yet unpredictable glitchy soundscapes for the listener to travel through
It's quite timely when you have the tenth anniversary of vw's beginnings (...there's nobody here...here...here...here...) and next January will be five years since 新しい日の誕生
. Building a Better World may very well be another milestone and flag planted for the art movement. And in general, this affirms, even more, my own take of the whole thing. It's still art built on mood but I think runs even deeper than that where we all want to build a better world, whether it's on our own terms or better terms or both. Perhaps now, we can see the future as what it can be. =]
For me it always comes back to Telepath with 2148 Birth of a New Day. That album is the stuff of legends
there's a reason its always gonna be a classic :) catch the vinyl repress?
Vaperror- only because i feel with most vaporwave i can only listen to it in a certain mood but with vaperror i can listen to him all the time happy or sad
Emil Rottmayer will always be my favorite vaporwave artist. I find a lot of their tracks just a little bit punchier than other artists in the genre and that's probably because most of my favorite music is some type of EDM. I first discovered them through the channel Electronic Gems, which I think we can all agree has helped us find a lot of amazing music!
my favorite artist is definitely the pre Rain Temple HKE, followed by 猫 シCorp and t e l e p a t h
rain temple is a vinyl I always wish I picked up never got around to it!
@@PadChennington same for the Rain Temple... btw I'm really glad I stumbled upon your channel, you are really interesting!
Deaths Dynamic Shroud is my favorite. My favorite track from them is track #4 off of I'll Try Living Like this, Something about that whole song is so inspiring to me, its very next level.
One of my favourite vaporwave artists is definitely Windows96. Each album is always an improvement on the previous, not that it diminishes the quality of the previous release; there’s is just always this perfect evolution from album to album. The dusty synths are just the sexiest sounds ever and never in a million years did I think something better than One Hundred Mornings would be released, but Enchanted Instrumentals and Whispers happened and I was blown away. Hazy Days honestly sounds like it belongs to some unreleased beach track or level from something like Mario Kart or Donkey Kong Country. I love it.
incredibly well said...W96 is superb! picked up any of his vinyl??
@@PadChennington thank you mah dude ✌😎 I have. Gradient Horizon and OHM on that sweet purple ❤ probably one of my favourite records I own.
My favorite is Saint Pepsi, since I heard Enjoy Yourself, my mind exploded, a feeling I had never felt but felt familiar, the late night delight accompanied me many nights along with Empire building, that feeling of a night but utopian city, about 80s eternal and blurred, was sometimes also like being in a dream forever, blurred images, music with many layers, indescribable
I enjoy HKE
The main reason for this is a non sampled sound is af the artist took the genre seriously and not as a meme. The sound of his creations speaks to you without words, you can understand that each ambient echo can be traced to some part of your day or your life. It is like catalyst of feelings which helps you to understand yourself better than your own consious mind.
As an Italian guy, QuadratoX's vapor style is the best form of Vaporwave I can think of: he puts the right referencies for my personal pop culture and yet his music is enjoyable without knowing them
Very late on this, but my favorite vaporwave artist is George Clanton, because I think he revolutionized the whole vaporwave genre with new and wobbly synths, while adding in a very funky feeling of his music, such as his albums 100% Electronica and Slide, and I do enjoy his disctinctive, yet very awesome work.
