This is why not reusing keywords is horseshit, they either do it as an excuse to print (not necessarily overpowered, but still broken) cards, or they have to continually relearn the lessons they "learned" years ago. It's dumb, it makes no sense from a design perspective, even if you subjectively believe that it creates a more cohesive set identity. (I don't.)
@michaelbowman6684 it's got a lot more to do with ease of learning. Having a single echo card in standard means more things to learn. In reality, it can be written how it is and be better Nothing to do with learning from mistakes or having the intention of making broken things. In fact it literally isn't broken in standard for where its designed
Echo is not even that difficult to understand and touching the card explains the keyword anyway. In my opinion all the keywords should be used instead of text explanations.
@@ancient7716 no it's not difficult for one card. Second you do it for every card it just doesn't work... too many words that key words lose their value as you're just basically reading the description anyway
@@ancient7716 All keywords should be used when applicable because it's both problem solving card text and makes room for more words on a card, see Zilliax as an example, imagine if it was all written out as: "This minion can be attached to other minions with the "Mech" tribe to give them it's stats and effects. The first instance of damage this minion would take is reduced to 0. This minion blocks attacks from enemy minions and the enemy Hero while it is in play. All damage this minion deals is restored to your Hero. This minion can attack enemy minions the turn it is played." And that is massively simplifying what Zilliax does, with lots of missing nuance. Keywords are supposed to make learning the game easier because you can have a Key that tells you exactly what these Keywords do in more words than what can be put on a card.
I just don't understand why they didn't just make "Repeatable this turn" function identically to Echo which can't be reduced below 1. Radiant Elemental was fine.
Because radiant elemental costs a whopping 2 mana. Literally any minion ever sticks on the board after like turn 3 and you simply die if they have any way to double radiant and lightspeed.
quick question... i don't know why but every time i see one of your videos my subtitles pop up without me activating them... does it happen to anyone else?
It probably has to do with the hearthstone tag on the vid, youtube has a bunch of settings to automatically turn on subtitles on 50+ games, hearthstone being the 34th. To see how to disable it google “Hearthstone rule 34”
Step 1 Go to your UA-cam Account Settings page. Step 2 Click "Playback" from the left-hand menu. Step 3 Untick "Always show captions". Maybe this will help
Rare Bluegill Warrior sighting! Remember to subscribe to the channel and like the video! Thanks so much for watching!
The first player brought a Core deck to Wild and sat through the combo, certified gigachad
Blizzard : *nerf echo*
Also blizzard : printing non-echo "echo" card
Guess they really didn't learn anything

Wow Boulderfist Ogre gets reduce by Thadius, becoming a 4 mana 6/7. That's really good stats for the mana cost
i like how the hearthstone team acted as if there was only one card that would break this, and went ahead and nerfed the elemental...
Because of the turn when you can make it.

@@retronymph But think of the poor new players that are utterly incapable of ever reading a tooltip apparently

You didn't heal your opponents face on turn 2. Ridiculous.
This comment wasn't made for the algorith, I almost swear.
