I think the similar situation as the Night Fury and the Light Fury, the Boneknapper and the Armourwing are two closely related but still separate species of Dragon.

I believe the Armourwing and the Boneknapper are the same species or subspecies of dragon that collects different things to build a coat of armour.
They both kinda look like monstrous nightmares too
I 1000% agree as they both make a protective shield with objects and they are very similar in look
