I have 2 wonfo fine care machines. After 1 year, I had one not giving proper readings. So now I use 2 every time. I know it seems like overkill but it’s easy to tell if one stops working properly and I always have a back up. Great vid!
@@lexxymoo51 you must’ve never watched the incredible Dr. Pol. I don’t think he knows what gloves are 😂 also, Dr. Coleman is the veterinarian here. He’s been a veterinarian for 49 years and has never worn gloves in his life for something like this.
Thank you! You could not have made this easier to do or to understand. Hopefully saved my buddy quite a few scary trips to the Vet!
That was a very perfect helpful video!!!

Good tips Thy
You got it
thanks
Thanks for the video! Is it common that there is no blood spot left on the leg after the draw?
If you do it correctly it should be very minimal. Apply pressure at the end as well.
What are some of the potential complications that could happen from drawing blood if you are inexperienced and happen to mess it up somehow?
U can damage the vein and make a hole in it from which the dog will be bleeding
Hematoma. Very safe, pup will be fine but you want to follow these steps or see a professional if your a little nervous.
You can also collapse or blow the vein.
a wonderful demonstration... only concern is, aren't you contaminating the area with your finger and all that palpating after having sanitized it?
I guess yes
You won't get bacteria in the vein with holding the skin, the needle can push bacteria when going into the vein if the area is not clean
Thanks for the video I’m going to drawing blood on my blue nose pit she has signs of pregnancy but also her first cycle.
Nice!
You should place a swab with some alcohol based sanitizer or something after drawing blood
Not just bare hands
It will cause infection
Clean hands 🙌🏼 been doing this for 12 years
You should be washing your hands. Not a single person in vet industry does that. Especially if you have a patient whose currently bleeding out.
