    I tried out this technique a few weeks ago after watching your vid. It's very efficient! I was able to stay longer and deeper into the water. Thank You!

    • @freedivebro
      @freedivebro  5 років тому +4

      there are (usually) 3 types of stiffness in a long fin: soft, medium, and hard. Maybe u can try the hard one

    • @singaporeseaslugs1393
      @singaporeseaslugs1393 4 роки тому +6

      plastic fins generally are harder on the legs, so you can try that, make sure to stretch and drink water before diving to prevent calf cramps

    Somebody told me to keep my legs completely straight all the time while finning, but I can see that you bend the knees a bit. Which one is correct? Confused

    • @bikerbob182
      @bikerbob182 4 роки тому +1

      This is the correct amount of knee bend. The kick should be driven primarily from the hips and not the knee. Don't try to keep your knees locked straight while you kick.

    • @stefpix
      @stefpix 6 років тому +3

      In the USA all the pools are shallow because of liability, no diving boards either. At NYC public pools do not let you train for breatholding, and on NYC's public beaches they do not let you use snorkels or fins, lifegiards keep you close to shore. Welcome to the USA, land of regulations.

      yes you are right. I went free diving / spearfishing on Long Island. For 20 miles it is private beach with millionaires mansion. No parking for people from out of town. You can break or flex some rules. They sent 4 lifeguards to get me out of the water because i was 2/300 meters from shore in rough surf. I had fins and i was fine. They wanted to give me a ticket. In every other country I went (EU / Mexico / Norway etc) it is always swim at your own risk.

      I realize this post is 5 years old. I hope you have found your way back into water and fins again, if not, I’d like to encourage you to maybe try again.
      I broke my leg 2.5 years ago. Like the worst break possible. I had a compound trimalleolar fracture with dislocation and severed my tibial tendon. Never thought I’d be back in fins again. EVER! I was scared to put them on this past spring 2024.. the fear quickly turned to happy tears, I’m using them 3-4x a week and they are benefiting my leg / ankle even more. Im getting stronger. I do have hardware installed in my tibia and fibula but I can swim for about 3 hours before tiring out.. my surgeon thinks fins and water are the best and he’s all for it if I’m not swelling and bruising, I have had neither. You possibly do a soft fins? Just wanted to send encouragement and hope you are all healed up.
      🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️‍🩹
      Btw.. I’m 45, never give up what you love.
