Would like to see a film where Jon Voigt and Christopher Walken play cousin's constantly at odds.
Grumpy old men
that would be fun ..
That would be memorable!!
I love him ..hes a conservative..just like me..never ever move to California..the left ...ruined that state...but not come to republican state and ruin our lives.
Exactly. I find a strange resemblance that I never saw before.
My daughter works (at least before covid) in the movie business, and she says Jon Voight was the kindest person she has worked with.
My Mother was in a film with him as local talent. She had no idea who he was...of course she didn't know Matt Damon or Danny Devito either...but she said he was friendly...and they were filming outside and he gave her pocket warmers because it was cold.
Huh, I guess you'd never know he was a Trump Supporter..
@@ROBYNMARKOW I'm guessing you don't know too many people who don't lock step to your tune.
@@irenem3854 Its Ok if he's not a liberal ,I just don't understand how an intelligent-seeming guy like him can support a hateful person such as Trump.
@@ROBYNMARKOW he was a Republican before Trump even considered running. It's the party, not the person. Old school Republican just like my dad. The party has changed but so have the Democrats. It's become a whiny pissing match between both.....
I’m so crazy about Jon Voight. While in college, getting my degree in Education, I saw “CONRACK”. I ‘boo-hooked’ like a fool.
Could I make a difference in children’s lives like that?
“COMING HOME” was one of the greatest films I ever saw.
Jane Fonda probably wouldn’t speak to him now, and he wouldn’t care a bit.
Now I love him because he’s been brave enough to express his beliefs, and what America needs. I feel exactly like he does.
A Conservative voice in Hollywood is rare. Others agree with him, but they would never speak out.
Jon ‘has to say his piece’. God bless this fabulous man.
Thank you, Ben. For showing this great talented man respect in the interview.
Voight is a scumbag and a joke.
Midnight Cowboy and Deliverance two of my favorites. Love Jon Voight.
So disappointing that Voight and James Woods, such brilliant actors who over their long and prosperous careers portrayed a wide range of interesting characters, devolved with age into semi-crackpot, politically far-right, cranky old men.
@@johntechwriter I'm not a crackpot and I'm a Republican. I know Jon is not a crackpot.

A real gentleman, and a voice in the wilderness of Hollywood.

I LOVE this actor!!! OMG....That show, "Ray Donovan"... I was heartbroken when that show ended...it was SO GOOD and because of Jon Voight.... From Midnight Cowboy on...I was a hardcore fan... was even in an elevator with him once...he is TALL
I love him even more after this interview... LOVE HIM
I love him. He is so kind and approachable. Pretty good actor too.
Approachable maybe, but kind????
@@antmagor yes!!! he spoke to my mother for about 10 minutes at a film premier and he was kind and very engaging, and very complimentary. And no, my mother is not in the business.

@@antmagor i met him numerous times and he is so low key, but very cordial
Thank you CBS Sunday Morning for some excellent reporting on this fine actor. While you acknowledged political opinions, you did so in a way that reported it as an observation of one of the many characteristics that make up this man, and not as a singled out, divisive issue. You put the spotlight on the great and diverse acting career Jon Voight has had, and I love that!! Let’s have more of this!!!!

I lost a friend a few months ago that had served in Vietnam in 69, and was also a paraplegic.

Jon Voight is easily in the top 10 actors of all time. For a while, we weren't aware of this. The range of his talents weren't really explored. But once they were-WOW! The man is phenominal!
3:15 I wonder if that New York cabbie ever found out that he'd been immortalized by that brief improvised scene 🤔
I’m thinking yes.
@@mariannesouza8326 shortly after it hit the screen.
The cab and driver were planned - the driver a stunt extra - but the dialogue was ad lib - A lot of these Hollywood "legends" are fake for so long that they become real. Dustin was supposed to simply dodge the cab. The cab, in the script, was meant to symbolize all of NYC rolling over the character. The shooting script says, "Rizzo angrily curses at the cabbie."
😉
He’s still handsome as ever!
Ya know...you would think the "professionals" at CBS would figure out how to enable captions on their UA-cam posts for those who are hearing impaired. Please do. We know you know how.
Good point.
Agreed, UA-cam -- and other media -- should make captions standard for all online content.
It is inexcusable that they don’t have captions and even though they won’t say it, I will: I am sorry that cbs does not care enough to accommodate their viewers who are hearing impaired.

This video made me respect Ben Mankiewicz alot more than I did watching him on The Young Turks. The fact he can sit down with Jon Voight and talk to him, and NOT go out of his way to vilify him because of his politics is earth shattering.
It's so cute he is bragging up his brother. He's more proud of his brother's song, then his own accomplishments.
I'm conservative too but realistic enough to know each issue has many sides to it. Sometimes we try to fix issues without addressing the root causes first. Doing things out of order is equal to putting a band aid on issues. If we really want to stop abortion, we must first raise wages of women, give more promotions to women, apply the actual laws already on the books for divorces instead of siding with men simply because they are men, and we must make child support automatic with NO JUDGE having power to reduce it or excuse it and lastly, we must make child support actually enough, then it won't be such a hardship on women to raise children and there will be less abortions making it easier to ban abortions altogether.
Since when do women make less than men in the same job? Since when do the courts side with men in divorce? The level of misinformation in this country is deeply troubling.
That is not reality. At all.
And when men can take some responsibility for birth control !
@@karenburns9 Who has the option of opening their legs? Why do men have to pay the rest of their lives for a one night stand in which they were tricked into having a baby?
@@trespatines8698 if you're so worried about "being tricked" then take the necessary precautions. No ones forcing you to have unprotected sex either so if that results in pregnancy then that's not a trick its a result of poor decisions and now you have to deal with the consequences.
