The 362 is a big, powerful saw. A better comparison is with the ms170. You really can't ask either one to cut rounds off a 10 inch maple. That's why you have the ms362.

Oh for sure, that wasn’t meant to be any legitimate comparison. That being said, I was pretty impressed you could still get that Ryobi to cut through that. I’m still very happy with that Ryobi handling the small stuff and occasionally limbing. The MS362 is still very enjoyable for firewood time :)

I've had the 18V brushless Ryobi for a few years now and use it two or more times a year. The Ryobi 40V chainsaws are a far better value and cut much better but I am trying to stick with only one battery platform from here on. I bought the 18V shortly after it came out and at the time it was actually $50 more than the 40V kit but I got sick of having over a dozen different battery platforms and am trying really hard to stick with just one.

I've been thinking about picking up the 40v, I now have something from Ryobi that uses those batteries. I already had a number of tools that used the 18v batteries. Totally get the 40v being a better value.

@@georgianwindow better than I'd thought it would be. I've used it a ton since I made this video and I very much think I've gotten my money's worth. I use it quite a bit in the fall and spring for general clean-up and only break out the Stihl on anything over 3" in diameter. I'm not super easy on it, that being said I don't force it much, if it's not cutting well I definitely sharpen the chain rather than "force" it, I think if you did that a lot it wouldn't hold up. But with a sharp chain it's quite adequate for hemlock, maple, beech and red oak, which is what's around my property. Like I said though, anything under 3".... I'd be more inclined to use it over something like an Echo CS-310, especially if someone is new to a chainsaw.

Do you have any high rubber boots that you could wear when using your chainsaw? With your jeans over the boots it will give you more of an overlap and you're less likely to get sawdust in your socks.

I do need to get some new boots, I will keep that in mind, thanks!

@@LukeHague OK cool, let me know which rubber boots you end up getting and I'll keep an eye out for them in your next video. Be sure to wear your pants over the boots.
