- Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has officially been released early in New Zealand for a test period, so I had to give it a try! In this video, I'll be running through the early tutorials, opening packs, and playing against my first real opponent.

This does not include the fact that some pokemon have alternate forms which can change their appearance, stats, and abilities.
But don't worry. Some pokemon are suspiciously similar entirely coincidentally. Like Dugtrio (a mole) and wugtrio (an eel).

Im as blind as you are, but wtf, i havent gotten any star-rarity card in over 100 pulls except the free first one, and you already got two more. If thsts not streamer luck, i dont know what is.
I got the gold mewtwo and 3 secret rare ex card in my first 15 packs🥲
From watching this I really wonder if it would have been beneficial for them to come up with a completely new game using the cards. I love collecting but this really didn’t seem like that much fun.
It’s a lot more fun Version of the tcg, once you play it you’ll be addicted

It's pretty amusing to me that the game teaches you all about the different progression systems and shops and currencies long before you actually get to the gameplay. Kinda shows where the focus is for these games.
You're pretty much on point honestly. Even the physical Pokémon TCG, at least for me I enjoy collecting more than playing them.
Their marketing are almost zero gameplay and most of them are packs opening. Means they know their market well. I doubt it's a f2p friendly game.

I collected Pokemon cards as a kid, but never learned how to play the actual game. I would just make up rules and didn't know what I was doing. You'd think the packs would come with instructions on how to play (maybe they did but I forgot).
I don't think there's any card game where the packs come with instructions. They usually save those for starter decks and such (products with space for manuals and that come with enough cards for you to actually play). Nowadays maybe there are links for where you'd learn to play though?
@@felizpanda that makes sense. I was always getting booster packs from Target and nothing else. Pokémon's the only physical trading cards I've ever gotten into.

And there is very little complexity. So card power means more than anything

I never really got into pokemon and was. Kinda excited to check out a new card game but my game bugged out and didn’t give me enough experience to get to level three and play the game so now I’m waiting for more packs and missions to get enough experience. Was kinda a let down reminded me of Deadpool’s diner new thing can’t play wait longer

It’s essentially Pokémon trading card game on mobile. I stopped playing PTCG when I started playing snap a loooot more. Both are super fun games though! When you get crazy cards it gets super fun

Fun fact! That Vulpix art is by Aoki Toshinao, who made children's picture books of Pokemon for Japanese audiences in the 1990s. I believe the art for the card may be from one of those books, but I don't know that for sure. I have a few of them. The art definitely does look a bit weird on a card.

Do you guys think they will ban/ punish people for using VPNs to get game early? Also, would I have to reset my progress once the game comes out in the US?
Crazy. You strike me as the kind of guy who would know all the original 150 and nothing else, but hearing you stumble through gen 1 names definitely refutes that. They are clearly going for mass appeal here! Like 90% of the pokemon in the first few minutes were from early gens- mostly gen 1, even. Some new(er) stuff randomly here and there, though, like gogoat and dubwool

I’m so excited for this. Pokemon Go made me fall back in love with Pokemon and I’m excited to try another game with real cards like how the physical collect is
Wish this was on PC too, but since it has pocket in the name, probably won't be coming to PC ever, gameplay doesn't look that interesting but cards look nice.
Hopefully, this at least makes Marvel Snap start respecting their audience a little...
I love the "Thank You" mechanic. It's nice to send good vibes to your opponent after a match.

Seems very confusing with all the different types of currency and such
I'm really stoked to play this! Just sucks that they basically released an early access version a month before the actual release for players that go through the hustle of "cheating" the system outside of NZ. And for native New Zealanders of course.
