I agree that they might have been surprised with how well the song did, but the MV was definitely planned beforehand. Except for their debut, they always release a second song with a video during their comebacks (see Impurities and Eve, Psyche & the Bluebeard’s wife). Iirc they were going to release a Blue Flame MV too but... things happened.
