Hi , i have a question...How do u unlock scope chipset slots in 34:24 ?...U have only 2....Even i am in deep storage and i have only 2 unlocked slots..
It's my favorite game because it has everything I like combined into one like science, experimentation, aliens, power, discovery, stealth mechanics and much more...sometimes I wish I was the the owner of transtar...I also wish I had all neuromod installations, I also agree with Alex...the typhon aren't evil and should be studied further so that maybe one day we could coexist but they lack empathy so that's somthing we would have to work on
It has. People look at sales and number of players but for me the best sign of the quality of a game is when people who played it really adore it even though it wasn't as popular as other games
another use of the lift ability is to get to high places where you normally can't get to. And mimic ability transfers your real body into another dimension, so any damage you take during mimic won't dmg your health at all. Mimic 3 is very useful since you can mimic an operator, and as an operator, not only you can attack using the operator's weapon, but also you can fly freely.
For some reason I imagined the "Kitchen Sink" Nightmare kill as Morgan literally ripping a kitchen sink out of the counter and just yeeting it at the thing's face and killing it via concussion, and now I can't stop laughing
This is why I enjoy Prey so much. There are literally so many ways to play it. You can get creative with the different abilities, which is what makes it so fun.
I can see where that Kinetic Blast would be a riot, send enemies flying through the air! That is one awesome build Slack, fantastic job, you sir deserve a HUGE Thumbs UP! ;)
Morgan created the psychoscope. So he probably put his entry in as a joke. This provides some insight into his normal everyday personality as you dont really get to know what he is like. The videos and voice logs you do get of him are mostly serious.

I know that this is over three years old, but the powers of the Typhon are mighty useful in many situations. Also did anyone else noticed how kinetic blast has "Unlimited" range? Does that mean you can basically become a deadly sniper and just kill things from across the map? If so then that would be very funny and helpful.
Lift Field is probably used in a tool like use, less of a Combat ability, like remote manipulation, and mimic matter, as it let's you get up to higher areas without wasting GLOO or other stuff
@@guy5140PSI pool upgrades are human neuromods. You can't boost PSI in pure alien build with neuromods. There's a scope chipset POTENTIALIZER 23-0948SI that can increases PSI pool by 50, but that's it.
One thing I dislike is that the nueromods to upgrade psi capacity and replenishment are on the Human side of the skill tree, crippling an alien-only build. (And of course, an alien-only build is the one build that needs it the most.)
Right? And somehow being able to pick up massive objects, hit like a truck, and run like the wind, are all considered human traits. Who did they scan to get those abilities?
@@Trojianmaru kinda a plothole here just like being able to throw giant object even if neuromod is injected into brain or being able to increase inventory size with neuromods, i guess the system altogether was rushed due to deadline of game release being close so thats why it looks stupid but i personally would let it pass due to "balance issues" if i can call it like that

Damn. I completely missed that this was a no-needle run. Figured when you do ng+, it would just give you as many neuromods as you had used. Like how Dishonored 2 does it. How can a dev company that makes such great games, make such easy mistakes? Heard ng+ wasn't even a thing at launch.
I guess they didnt want the player to do a full human run in one game and go ng+ and do an op typhon build right of the bat (or vice versa). This is pretty frustrating, as when you finish a whole game you just don't want to go through that first whole bit where you are weak; need to recycle stuff, farm neuromods, and need to obtain the psychoscope to re scan EVERY ENEMIES.. but eh
@@holidayinn4293 yeah they really fucked up on that part, it really is odd considering how well every mechanic is put together in the game. Not having your psi hypo or your weapons ammo is absolute bs, like whats the point of a ng+ if you still need to farm for 5h for it to be viable
man you always challenge and limit yourself to the max and do so well loved this and loved your skyrim legendary build shit i still have that E-BOOK ending stuck in my head
That psychoactive charger chipset at 34:44 would be invaluable to a pure alien build as you'll lack the chance to increase your Psy, cause those upgrades are in the Human category. Haven't got Prey yet but may get it within a week, definetly don't want to make any Rookie mistakes so I'm watching all of your Prey videos before I get it, Spoiling the game for myself, sure, but I want to play Smart NOT Blind.
The Psychoactive Charger only recharges your Psi at the rate of 6 per minute. I thought it was pretty cool too until I ran it through some tests. It's really weak sauce, actually. But I suppose for a stealthy character that really takes his time, it might be useful. Provided you were lucky enough to find it. ;)
Really a measly '6' per minute? When it said slowly regenerate Psy I thought that it meant 1 per 3-7 seconds, not one per 17 seconds (Rough estimate), that really is weak sauce, shame there's no Psy regeneration upgrade (without taking damage) and while Psy hypos are cheap, Exotic material is a bottleneck for every recipe that needs it.
My only problem in games like this is that I limit myself with the powers, especially in Dishonored. I'll literally have a shit ton of elixers(I always have the max 10 in DH, I finished Prey with maybe 100 of them) and will never allow myself to use them. I never use alot of my powers because of that, I'll only regen my energy naturally by either eating or drinking but never the way I'm supposed to. I fucken hate it lol, it's like some dumb ass perfectionist habit I can't help but act out.. I really wish that your body changed depending on your Typhon enhancements, it'd make total sense considering the *SPOILER*

I'm pretty sure that you only get that when the nightmare spawns around 2-3 times, and he only scanned it once so he will have to wait for it to come anyways
Nightmares do appear after certain event in story regardless of your neuromods. However they only seem to appear out of nowhere in the middle of level when you have several typhon neuromods. Without those, they will only spawn when changing levels after their cooldown elapsed (20 minutes if you evaded last one or 30 minutes if you killed it).
I purchased EVERY human Upgrade except for the one where you can extract more alien organs and I bought 5 Alien Upgrades. I think overall that cost me a bit more than 200 Neuromods, cause if I recall correctly all human upgrades already require 187 neuromods.

I just beat the game and was expecting the trophy for killing no humans and i didn't get it 😩. I checked my stats and it says I killed 1 human. Don't know when I did it, but it def was on accident and now I have to do it all over again 😤
I know how I feel I try to get that s*** too but I can't afford use materials to make a stun gun ammo and I hesitate to use psi mindJack cuz I try make 100% human build.
Just out of curiosity Slack, at 16:34 you are standing next to that yellow object that, when I play pumps out death dealing radiation, yet you not getting irradiated. Is this just down to your magnetic charm rendering the gamma rays useless:), or have you done something I could do? As always, love these sort of vids going in depth into a game.
LOL... No, sadly my magnetic charm has nothing to do with it. :D I was wondering what was up with that device myself in practice runs. Sometimes it was friendly, other times it would turn you radioactive in a New York minute. After some considerable testing, I've concluded that two things will set it off: 1. Any explosive or psi power set off nearby OR 2. It seems as soon as you hit the Grant Access button on the monitor in the security station, mimics will spawn outside and that device automatically turns radioactive. Otherwise, it should remain friendly.
I'm guessing that I set it off by explosion then, using those red cylinders. Many thanks for the research, as I usually have to do a death run holding the damn thing to get it away from the security station before I enter. Really enjoying this walkthrough, excellent detail and banter as always.:)
In this video (and others besides you) you explain that in order to make nightmares spawn you need to install alien neuromods. I didn't install any but I still keep finding nightmares. Why is that?
SpectralDemon Some spawns are scripted. Spawn chances are irrelevant. Nightmares spawn after you install high teir neuromods. I just finished a No Needles (trypanophobia) run today. 0.37% of players earned the achievement. When I earned it it increased to 0.57% Be careful. There is a lot of false information online about Prey. Don't trust any Wiki.
SnowWalker Me too, I expected it to be different depending on neuromod investments but are there specific scripted places that Nightmares spawn. I'll name them. In front of the tunnel with 2 turrets in the Arboreatum, the one with the 2 aquarium looking glass walls. In front of the Talos 1 Lobby elevator exit, on the floor with Morgan's office. The bottom of the tall Life Support gravity shaft. The entrance to Crew Quarters (after entering). The entrance to the neuromod division (after entering).
I’m on my first play threw and i dont see any alien mods just human mods (skills) and I’m playing on very easy why is there no alien (skills) on my game is it a dlc or something or how can i get alien skills on this game ???
Nightmares spawn based on certain milestones in the story, like your second time going back to the atrium after getting guts access and when you go to neuromod division to renew the lisence for fabricating neuromods, after you kill one it takes 23 mins for another to spawn in a large area, if you evade it it takes 25 mins for another one to spawn. The typhon summon it when they detect a threat
Oh boy I can't wait to fight one. I'm probably going to get fisted about 10 times fighting my first Nightmare. Meanwhile he kills one in 10 seconds with psi powers.
Nightmares are garbage . Gotta agree with anti here. Played prey in highest difficulty and they're still shit. Only thing you need to watch out for is those homing kinetic blasts.
Nightmares are kinda garbage, without any neuromods you can take it out with 5 recycler charges and shotgun shots. Its atttacks and movement are extremely slow, his hp pool isnt THAT big and there are lots of places where it cant reach you. Technopaths feel way harder, they fly and most of the times evade recycler charges, their damage output is insane and they have more reach attacks wise. I honestly like the nightmare but im mad thats the "hardest" enemy there is in the game, I wish there had been a boss fight and other typhons that would make you use all your resources carefully to kill them.
Blue Wolf I imagine at some point someone suggested that you could fight the apex or similar final boss, but they ended up with a finale emphasicing your choice that ends up being less important for the ending than the choises you made in the gameplay.
very nasty use for that machine mine that I can think off... but hadn't tested. Do it on the turrets that the technopath carries with him, and if it works... the turrets it's carrying with him open fire and really mess up it's day.
Can soneone explain to me in a relativly short way what this game is about and what's the fun part of it? I understand nothing just from watching the videos honestly. Is it worth playing? And why? Can it be compared to other games?
Did you ever hear of System Shock 2, Thief, Deus Ex, Bioshock, Dishonored? Have you heard/read/played and learned that all of them are considered masterpieces due to game and world design, as well as player agency, freedom and choice? Prey is exactly the same. Go play it. It's amazing.
It's all about gameplay freedom. You can climb everything, use a bunch of weapons, devices, abilities against your enemies or just sneak or run past them. The space station this game takes place in is vast and wholly explorable. It has a nice unsettling atmosphere and soundtrack and imo a pretty good story, though much of it is revealed by exploring the environment rather than scripted cutscenes or dialogues. If you enjoy Bioshock, System Shock, Half-Life or Dishonored, this game might be up your alley, it falls into the same immersive sim category and it's a damn good one at that.

The Backlash skill temporarily repels any enemy that attacks. So if you hit it quickly while it's repelled, you got it cold. :)
What about melee and typhon build? What would you go for?
I didn't know Michael Keaton made Prey walkthroughs :) u were awesome in Multiplicity, Beetlejuice.
25:42 you could say, this is a KINETIC BLAST😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just beat the game and was expecting the trophy for killing no humans and i didn't get it 😩. I checked my stats and it says I killed 1 human. Don't know when I did it, but it def was on accident and now I have to do it all over again 😤
Maybe it was a mind controlled human? Like the one locked down in trauma center. Use stungun to save them from exploding themselves.
would've maybe been the one that walks into the fire if your too slow, in the gym/swimming pool area.
I know how I feel I try to get that s*** too but I can't afford use materials to make a stun gun ammo and I hesitate to use psi mindJack cuz I try make 100% human build.
@@RSolimov probably. I played the whole game stealthily as I could
Just out of curiosity Slack, at 16:34 you are standing next to that yellow object that, when I play pumps out death dealing radiation, yet you not getting irradiated.
Huh. Never thought about picking it up and moving it. Might give that a go next time...! :D
How did you get 5 ammo for shotgun on pure alien build?
In this video (and others besides you) you explain that in order to make nightmares spawn you need to install alien neuromods. I didn't install any but I still keep finding nightmares. Why is that?
They end up spawning no matter what after a while
they spawn based on how "powerful" Morgan is. after that, it's a set time when they spawn and despawn.
Installing Typhon Neuromods basically increases the chances of a Nightmare spawning. It isn’t always the trigger.
There’s also set triggers, like going into crew quarters
Lift field also lets you reach high places fast!
alright
Phantom shift can also be used to dash while in mid air
I don't rate it for combat because time pauses when aiming other psychic powers anyway
Once I used lift field ll to get to the safe zone in the cargo bay
ALLRIGHT
I like your guides and playthrough alot. Do you have a only human build? Or guide to which neuromods to invest in beginning?
The kinetic blast is OP
it’s my favorite
I did a no needles run and I got plenty Nightmares showing up.
SnowWalker according to wiki. Nightmares shouldn't show up to often if you avoid alien powers. But it is chance based
I am doing human powers only run and have nightmares constantly
SpectralDemon
Some spawns are scripted. Spawn chances are irrelevant. Nightmares spawn after you install high teir neuromods.
I just finished a No Needles (trypanophobia) run today. 0.37% of players earned the achievement. When I earned it it increased to 0.57%
Be careful. There is a lot of false information online about Prey. Don't trust any Wiki.
SnowWalker
Me too, I expected it to be different depending on neuromod investments but are there specific scripted places that Nightmares spawn.
Major Slack phone home! :D
this game is soooo good. love it
My game must be fucked because I find nightmares all the damn time and the only time I installed alien mods I endloaded up loading a previous save.
I read that they appear regardless of getting alien powers or not
@Dex yeah bit since I didn't get alien powers I guess they spawned a fewer number of times compared to those who did get alien powers.
I’m on my first play threw and i dont see any alien mods just human mods (skills) and I’m playing on very easy why is there no alien (skills) on my game is it a dlc or something or how can i get alien skills on this game ???
You have to wait until later in the game and will unlock the branch of alien mods
You may need to find the psychoscope first.
Nightmare of the Nightmare :D
psychoshock is so OP its almost all you need
I had 0 alien neuromods and had 7 nightmares
noice
Same here i think it depends on how many neuromods you have installed not if they are alien or human
Just bitch in a corner and g ray the crap out of it
Nightmares spawn based on certain milestones in the story, like your second time going back to the atrium after getting guts access and when you go to neuromod division to renew the lisence for fabricating neuromods, after you kill one it takes 23 mins for another to spawn in a large area, if you evade it it takes 25 mins for another one to spawn. The typhon summon it when they detect a threat
Is there any teleport/shift/portal powers in thos game?
(Other than Rapid shift)
Now if you just started the game again, how did you get all those neuromods? I thought there was no new game plus
Cynical Nitro I'm not sure if this is correct but I think it is, anyways he says that he was halfway through the game at that time
Cynical Nitro he said halfway thru
There is a new game plus however it only gives back your powers
After I got 3 typhon neuromods the turrets attacked me, I know because o was standing in front of three when I got my third typhon neuromod
What you say is true about the nightmare spawn rate. But I was just unlucky. I had two nightmares spawn and I didn't use a single alone neuromod
...alright?
Why allright so much?
Pure human build coming soon???
Such a great game
Did you say it is good too do this on easy
Oh boy I can't wait to fight one. I'm probably going to get fisted about 10 times fighting my first Nightmare. Meanwhile he kills one in 10 seconds with psi powers.
James Stanley Nightmares are absolute garbage, honestly i think the operators are harder because they explode afterward
💎Mr.Antimatter You are kidding right? The range is small and the damage is modest.
Blue Wolf
I imagine at some point someone suggested that you could fight the apex or similar final boss, but they ended up with a finale emphasicing your choice that ends up being less important for the ending than the choises you made in the gameplay.
just a question but can you phantom shift through walls?
kaden voodoo 20 no
i got a chipset that recharges Psi quickly when you're in the coral
very nasty use for that machine mine that I can think off... but hadn't tested.
If you enjoy Bioshock, System Shock, Half-Life or Dishonored, this game might be up your alley, it falls into the same immersive sim category and it's a damn good one at that.
ok thanks a lot
I'm excited to play this.
Wanna be friends. Yeah sure. 60 seconds later. I have you. Shoots Morgan. XD. TURRETS THESE DAYS
You from the east coast?
Lol you made a superskull or Martian manhunter from marvel and dc 😆
