I smash my avocado & put in garlic powder, onion powder, chilli flakes, salt & pepper & some finely sliced tomatos. When the bread is done i take it off the pan & smear some garlic on it. it's weird because i've been brought up eating avocados sweet and on their own we normally just slice the avocado in half and fill the gap with honey or agave or just sugar
Avocado is a very neutral tasting fruit, so it makes sense that it can be good both savory and sweet. Don't know why people would find it weird. Even if it were savory, many savory things pair well with sweetness.
Here in Indonesia, avocado is also more often treated as a sweet. Put into a bowl, the fruit is Cut into cubes with crushed ice, chocolate sprinkles and a bit of condensed milk.
I would use golden syrup (sparingly) rather than agave for Kylie's recipe. For Meghan's try swapping the chili flakes for Aleppo pepper. It adds a slightly smokey flavor that's really nice. For Gordon's, if you're going to all that trouble, you may as well add a poached egg to each slice. It's more of a Benedict vibe, but Gordon's is already pretty far removed from avo toast as it is. I make avo toast with: 2 slices of your toast of choice (I like a nice crusty Italian bread toasted). Spread a thin lay of room temperature garlic butter (I will often use a vegan butter mixed with a bit of garlic paste - sometimes I feel super lazy and will just pop into the supermarket's bakery department and get a container of their garlic spread (it's made with palm oil rather than butter) and use that instead). Next mix your avo with a bit of olive oil, lemon juice, salt, cracked black pepper, a very small amount of garlic paste, and a bit of Aleppo pepper. Cover and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. Remove from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes or so to take off the chill. Give it a quick stir and heap the avo mixture on top of toast (I like a ratio of 2 parts avo to 1 part toast). You can also drizzle with a bit more olive oil and another squeeze of lemon juice if you like. It's quite nice. Feta, Haloumi, or Akkawi would be a nice addition. You can also use gigi paste (garlic and ginger paste found in the Indian section of the market. The most common brand you will see in America is probably Shan.) instead of garlic paste. If you do that I would use regular chili flakes, as the ginger doesn't pair as well with the Aleppo pepper. I would also omit the cheese or swap with paneer instead.
This is the comment of someone who knows what they're doing... You've got it all down aside from the human interaction and understanding part of speaking menu... Why would a vegan add poached egg and make a Benedict out of a Vegan Chorizo toast +Avocado recipe? See, chefs in general are like I.T. guys... I do both and have been doing both for almost 30 years. I was blessed with the ability to be able to be a robot and efficient machine in the kitchen or in the NOC, yet being able to possess a human quality like charisma goes a long way in both professions. So, commenter, I'm personally going to try everything you commented here because it's (like I said) the comment of someone who know what they're talking about. My only advice for you is to work on your people skills a touch and make that the important part of why you're doing what you do and you my friend will reach exponentially high places... The difference between I.T. guys and Chefs is that the I.T. guy generally is in it for the machines and spent less time with people than the machines as well... The robotic impersonal ways they act are justified for the most part. A chef loves food, and cooking for people, generally a chef, almost always a successful chef works with a team, not always tho, but you're still making food... And unless you're a FRU FRU chef for pets or something else that isn't a thing, then you're making food for people. Knowing how to be a person, a personable person; one that understands how people work while being mindful of that, is kinda your job. If you think being a chef is all about the food then you won't enjoy your career and you're doing it wrong. Technically a scientist could have figured out your additions. But a good chef would have listened to her explain that she uses vegan ingredients a couple few times in the video while she is even mindful of her not vegan viewers and says, "but you can use whatever you'd like..." Is someone who understands people and that would make the perfect chef... So, your knowledge of flavors, food pairing and innovation is pretty goddamn amazing, but since you thought it was more important to spew your skill in the comments instead of figuring out something more personal for her to make a great Ramsay Avo Toast a la Bennie, instead of a poached EGG, you lose the value in the great info you added. Plus, everyone knows the Bennie is only a Bennie because of the Hollandaise sauce. The poached egg would just make some hash... -_- P. S. I'm still going to try what you said because I'm in it for the people, and you're a person and said some pretty valid things that express you have a great food mind... Hope you figure out your human qualities sooner rather than later. Sky is the limit then.
@@KiNGPiN42DBM Thank you for your feedback. The egg was sarcasm in that Ramsay strayed so far away from avocado toast actually is that he may as well made a Benedict. My apologies if that was unclear. I'll work on it. Thank. I'd be interested to hear your feedback on the other suggestion I've made. I'm glad you're adventurous enough to try. Btw, if you have trouble finding Aleppo pepper and you're in the US, if you're near a World Market, they have it for less than $4. Otherwise any Middle Eastern store will carry it.
Wow this sounds magnificent. I’m middle eastern so all the ingredients you’ve mentioned are a staple in my pantry/fridge. Will definitely try it. P.S: your comment was completely normal, nothing robotic about it.
I do 1 avo for 2 slices of bread but I use a large avo. I keep it chunky, add the tiniest bit of lemon, flaky salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and everything bagel seasoning. Occasionally I top with hot sauce.
For chutney lovers out there, I love spooning some coriander and mint chutney onto my bread as the base flavor, then adding the avocado toast on top with some salt and cilantro. Super super good! And easy if you already have the chutney made in advance. I also add a bit of vinegar to my chutney so it keeps longer, which also brightens up the toast.
I eat mine on toasted seedtastic bread with a little sea salt & smoked paprika with red pepper flakes and halved cherry tomatoes. Occasionally with a drizzle of EVOO or lemon juice but it's fantastic either way.
I actually thought it was just guacamole on toast but if you use really good bread, it's quite nice. I love the addition of Feta, must try that, thank you :)
On my avo toast, I put goat cheese and fresh diced cherry tomatoes with a pinch of salt, basil and oregano. And if I want more protein, I add just dices of hard boiled egg.

I just use Avocado, lime juice, chopped tomato, salt, pepper and chilli flakes. Sometimes I’ll add everything bagel seasoning or chopped red onions too.
I have a REALLY good avocado toast for you guys. I chop sweet bell peppers and freeze them. I also chop spinach, kale and broccoli rapini, mix together and freeze in bags. Sautee some sweet peppers and the green mix, mix it or top it on mashed avocado on whatever toast you like. Season with garlic, salt and pepper at the end or through the process. Everything bagel seasoning at the end is optional. :3
Best avo toast is - smashed avocado mixed with lime juice and chilli flakes topped with cherry tomatoes and rocket lettuce and a poached egg. Pepper and salt…
My avo toast is a light layer of hummus, mashed avocado with fresh squeezed lime juice mixed in, topped with tajin. If I'm feeling fancy ill add a fried egg and turkey bacon
my go to: mash the avocado with lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, s/p, put it on the toast with a runny egg, bacon, & pea shoots or broccoli sprouts, really any micro green
Best avo and toast recipe is half an avo per slice of bread, ground salt and pepper. Little bit of white pepper, a drizzle of white vinegar and a sprinkle of Aromat( SA product) heaven 😍
Megan probably uses avocados from Mexico which can be larger. 1 mexican avocado gives me enough for 2 slices of toast thats the same ratio bread to avocado.
My fave is mixing some pepper, Himalayan salt, lemon juice, spread on bread, add hemp hearts and cucumber slices, or if I want sweet some slightly mashed raspberries ( sounds gross, but surprisingly delicious )
Quarter of an onion finely diced, Half a tomato, a handful of Coriander all diced, Salt, pepper, lemon juice, cumin, paprika/cayenne that's my recipe all tossed together with 1-2 mashed avocados. Can top avo layer with pickled jalapenos for extra bite.
In Chile, we've bien brought up with avocado toasts, since childhood. Toasted french bread with avocado, seasoned with salt and lemon, or In hot dogs with mayonaise and tomato (italian style, for its colours). We put it In Burger and all kind of sandwiches really. Even In pizzas (not a fan of this) In Brazil though, they eat avocado as a dessert, with sugar., not In salads.
I don't get the salt sprinkled on top versus mixing the right amount in the actual avo mix. Same with the Chilli because this allows for more even distribution of the spices per bite.
I do mine with mashed avocado with some chunks, garlic and black pepper and salt on toasted bread. A drizzle of olive oil and smoked paprika. Sometimes roasted red peppers and the oil from that
When I make avocado toast I put avocado and strawberries with no seasoning it is delicious or balsamic vinegar, actually my favorite is elderflower balsamic vinegar
I hate how some people just mash up some avocado, add salt, and call it guacamole. My family makes it with lime juice, cumin, smoked Tabasco, salt and pepper.
I don't even know how Gordon made that avocado toast look delicious to me when the taste of avocado absolutely puzzles me. I may just try this brunch dish!
I would say Meghan’s is pretty close to how I make avo toast ( I usually put cherry tomatoes and sprouts instead of pepitas) but I will have to try Gordon’s
I use one avocado with 2 slices of Ezekiel bread. I put pink Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and mixed seasonings. I also eat my avocado chunky not smooth like Mayo 🤢-it’s better while chunky not mashed. I also add hot sauce.
Megan’s the winner, Kylie’s recipe is gross, chef Gordon’s should be called something different than avocado toast your right and no way would I even make it. So Megan is the winner for best avocado toast .
Here's a question, if the avocado gets made into a guacamole, is it still avocado? In my opinion, Gordon's Avocado toast may not be a toast, because is more like a sandwich, but at least he was the only one who got the "avocado" part right.
does the garlic at 5:38 look like the store minced brand to anybody else? I heard it contains vinegar which would def augment that taste in the dish if any other sour/acid is added.
I'm Indian (from South Africa) and that's how I grew up eating it and layer learned of guacamole and avo toast when I was older and enjoy that now too as the savory version.

Okay technically I'm a chef in Ethiopia and I'm 13 and I think chef Gordon's was incredible
It looks delicious😋
You can also remove the avocado seed by turning it around and pushing it out by the skin. No knife involved and always comes out
I was scared for your brain when you said the ratio of Megans toast was off as you were sprinkling the fattest cheese on top... 😂❤
The world would be appalled to find out that the only way Vietnamese eat avocado is to mash it in condensed milk and ice cubes in a glass for dessert.
Avocado toast with garlic salt , a fried egg and red pepper flakes and sriracha
When I realised she's vegan, it totally made sense that she's not crazy about Gordon Ramsay 😂
When I make avocado toast I put avocado and strawberries with no seasoning it is delicious or balsamic vinegar, actually my favorite is elderflower balsamic vinegar
I like mine with coarse sea salt, black pepper, paprika and a poached egg on brioche bread
I hate how some people just mash up some avocado, add salt, and call it guacamole.
My family makes it with lime juice, cumin, smoked Tabasco, salt and pepper.
anyone want to talk bout the 'getty images' that randomly popped up in megans toast in the left hand upper corner. 3:17
when gordons recipe added onions to the pan i was like oh we COOKING cooking not like a friend egg
I don't even know how Gordon made that avocado toast look delicious to me when the taste of avocado absolutely puzzles me. I may just try this brunch dish!
I feel like you’ve overestimated Meghan’s social importance in the USA. She’s not that popular.
I make a mean avocado toast too unpopular opinion
While in the Philippines, we eat avocado with sugar or in a fruit salad 🥑😋
I would say Meghan’s is pretty close to how I make avo toast ( I usually put cherry tomatoes and sprouts instead of pepitas) but I will have to try Gordon’s
I love how these recipes were veganize also love that lavender top .
All it needs it salt, pepper, sriracha, and if you are feeling spicy maybe a fried egg
No one is mad for biting the bread in the middle.
I like avo toast with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar its simple but the flavour is strong
I use one avocado with 2 slices of Ezekiel bread. I put pink Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and mixed seasonings. I also eat my avocado chunky not smooth like Mayo 🤢-it’s better while chunky not mashed. I also add hot sauce.
This is weird to me. Growing up, I eat avocado with powdered milk and sugar 😂
Gordon just made a sandwich with avocado on it
Megan’s the winner, Kylie’s recipe is gross, chef Gordon’s should be called something different than avocado toast your right and no way would I even make it. So Megan is the winner for best avocado toast .
Yeah, I wasn’t feeling that agave on the toast.
I just wanna have a quick avocado toast snack and gordan makes it a whole meal
Just for saying ramsay as "POTTY MOUTH PRINCE "😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 ramsay is the winner.
Love how Amy veganized the recipes, nice :D
Apart from the Feta..
@@sih1095 she literally said she used vegan feta
@@sih1095 She used vegan Feta
@@Blue-xk8vq she didn't say that. So you have to assume its not..
@@sih1095 3:11 "I'm using vegan feta"
I don't like avocado, but this looks delicious
The video should be titled "Which Celebrity Puts the Best Toppings on Avocado Toast?"
Don’t use a knife when removing the pit. After halving the avo, use your 2 thumbs on opposite side of cut( skin side) and push. The seed will pop out
Here's a question, if the avocado gets made into a guacamole, is it still avocado? In my opinion, Gordon's Avocado toast may not be a toast, because is more like a sandwich, but at least he was the only one who got the "avocado" part right.
I love this girl, but honey how can you pronounce Chorizo “Xoritsssso” 😅😂
does the garlic at 5:38 look like the store minced brand to anybody else? I heard it contains vinegar which would def augment that taste in the dish if any other sour/acid is added.
Gordon’s looks amazing, but my GORD is screaming.
A friend of mine comes from Brazil and she says they eat Avocado sweet. She eats it with sugar. So it's not really uncommon
I'm Indian (from South Africa) and that's how I grew up eating it and layer learned of guacamole and avo toast when I was older and enjoy that now too as the savory version.
just add some queso chihuahua or gouda to the chorizo mix and you get queso flameado, uff so effing tasty with avo and tortillas 🙊
i am a sweet tooth but i think sweetness will blanket the taste of avocado
Gordon just made a 'Glorified' BLTA + cheese. And yesss, that is AWE (and then) SOME. yum.
