You are the perfect husband and dad with all the skills you have. Lorraine must think she has won the lottery every day she wakes up. Stay safe and well all xxxxx
I have rain water catchment at my off grid cabin in Northern Minnesota. Works great from end of April through October. I bath with it and do my dishes.
Very smart!! Most other homesteaders are dragging hoses everywhere or are trying to hook into available water sources but this is genius and more people could definitely benefit from this! Thanks for sharing!!🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦
You have to be a builder and creator to be a homesteader. And you excel at both. Good job. I'll be going from Texas to Missouri to build my house and homestead when travel restrictions are lifted. Best Wishes. Grandpa Jones. 😃
Love the double barrel idea and I have never seen that strapping you used. I'm going to have to keep my eyes out for that, very handy. One suggestion. Get some bricks or pavers or something similar under the legs where they touch the soil. Not only will they help reduce their chances of sinking into the dirt but the legs will last longer. No point in rebuilding this tower any sooner than necessary. Have a great day. Oh,and if the ram pump doesn't work well enough consider a windmill and tall water tower.😃
That is pretty cool. I’m using a plastic garbage can (not being used for garbage) to collect rain water. I then fill up empty 1 gallon water jugs. When I don’t have any rain I use the gallons to water my garden. But this idea would improve what I have and give me more water to collect 👍👍Have a blessed day 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️👩🏻🌾🌧️🌧️
Very clever rain catchment, with the overflow, securing it, etc. for someone who “didn’t know how” to do stuff before you came to NC, you sure have come a long way !!! ❤️❤️
What a great idea 🤩, I love it 🥰, I love how you recycled old bits and pieces to make this project. I know what my husband going to be doing next weekend 😆
Excellently done. Save water, save money. Waste not want not. You may want to put some 12x12x1 concrete blocks under the legs. Make it last longer and keep the legs from sinking in the dirt. Once full will be 500lbs.
For those wanting to harvest rainwater please be warned: that screening will keep adult mosquitoes out but it will NOT keep larva from growing in the gutter and washing into the reservoir through the screening. Also having some way to invert the reservoir for cleaning is quite useful.
FYI I have had my two tanks in for 10 years and the hose bibs were standard and I just drilled holes and they self tapped their own threads. Top of tank had no need to be opened on one which is fed by the other and the first tank only has a hole for my filter basket. Looking good Jason love watching you and your family.
PERFECT timing, we were pausing the most prior video trying to figure this out yesterday!! We know where our barrels are going, now we get to make a stand!
Who loves sow the land. 👇

I have never seen zip ties used like that (to make a circle). Can't believe I've never seen that. Learned something new today.
I dig it. :) I appreciate the security measures and the idea of putting water where you need it/the convenience aspect.
That is pretty slick!! I need to build something like that.
Brilliant job....making the most of what you had. Take care and keep safe. Carole in UK.
Also good for a gravity feed irrigation system for the garden. Great job Jason 👍👍
I have to clean mine out. Might as well raise it too.
