My late wife Holly Kimmel Brooks was a huge fan of Luigi. Jazz dance permeated her down to her very soul. Her mother who was a Broadway dancer took lessons with Luigi and after college so did Holly. This enabled her to train others in jazz dance as well as ballet in various studios. Eventually though her illnesses forced her to quit teaching but she never gave up dancing. All throughout the pandemic she took online classes with Luigi's partner Francis Roach, and it was those classes that helped Holly to maintain her sanity, so thank you Francis!

Agreed. The young dancers have no clue. They don't even know what classical jazz is and have no idea of the origins of jazz. Jazz doesn't even look specific anymore. It's just a mess now,😢

I remember learning a lot of movements in college jazz dance and we spent a lot of time working on Louigi jazz. I still use counts either on the stairs or on flat surfaces. Great vid.

“Papa was a Rolling Stone” by The Temptations but “The Masterpiece” is gorgeous too. As gorgeous as Luigi!
