iam from colombia and i was 12 yrs old during the world cup 94’ , after the Mafia from our own ppl killed escobar , it changed everything, it was a national embarrassment what happened to that great man, andres escobar was a very beloved and caring man , he helped out the poor in his city, God bless his soul
Pele actualy said that Colombia were a world cup favorite for 1994 and to be honest they had the quality they just weren't mentally stable at all. They had a very powerful front line with lots of speedsters like fredy rincon, asprilla, and a playmaker like pibe valderrama it would've been a nightmare for any defense if they were on top of their game
As a die-hard Miami Hurricanes fan, I never thought I'd say that there was ever a better sports documentary than "The U." I never thought I'd say that a soccer documentary would be it, but...well, this is it. Absolutely amazing. 10/10 for the film directors.
13 years later, those are two of the best sports documentaries of all time. Doesn't really matter what order you put them in
I was 12 when Andres scored its own goal, and we Romanians, in Romania, a country so far from Colombia, talked among us, that he will be killed when he will go back home. We knew from very that moment the he would be killed, and all this because, of the perception we had about the life in Colombia.
You can't HIDE what's going on actually in Colombia man,this is what we are man, i know man, we have Coffee, flowers,Soccer Players,nice people, beautiful countries,best rivers, 2 oceans and everything you want but man im Happy to know all of this man coz im not gonna live asking why people talk shit about ma contry,we got to recognize what's people doing whit our contry and this is the time to see it man..

I saw parts of this at work today and am so excited that now I can watch it from beginning to end and get all the details thanks again. My heart broke a little bit when it spoke of Andres Escobar's murder. He seemed like a wonderful person. RIP.

De niño uno se sorprendia con aquel pobre papel que protagonizaron luego en USA'94 pero ahora uno entiende que aquel equipo estaba superpresionado porque su camino al mundial lo había elevado a los altares de favorito al título y porque la situación en Colombia era la que era. No debió ser nada fácil estar en el pellejo de los Asprilla, Valderrama, Rincón y compañía. Ellos al menos lo pueden contar, Andrés Escobar lamentablemente cayó víctima de la locura reinante en Colombia en los días del tristemente famoso Pablo Escobar.
