Defense is like your instincts, your knowledge, your tools all coming together to keep you alive. That did not happen in these videos
they panicked, discarding their knowledge and just rapidly clicked their mouse despite if they were calm and collected, right clicked to shield.

Shields are useless in hardcore.
I speak from experience.
Theres a delay when the shield works, and its officially counted as a bug in the minecraft bug tracking jira service desk.
So many times i died because the shield either broke so quickly due to the onslaught of mobs or a creeper exploding even though the shield was up.
The funniest part is that it feels like the people who are just getting started rage more than the experienced players who just lost countless hours worth of work.

honestly after playing in a world for so long too. its so nice to start on a fresh world.
I think a lot of it has to with the older world players just being more calm and patient in general and they've survived longer. They aren't like the other guys who will dive straight into a cave with barely any gear.

I agree. I am tired of seeing eRobb make bad decisions and then throw tantrums like it wasn't his fault. It's cringe. If he cannot deal with the possibility of death in a game where there are hostile mobs, he should not play in Hardcore mode. He appears 11 times in this video. At least with XQC, some of the deaths are just unlucky, like at 3:20 when he unintentionally threw the Ender Pearl when it entered his inventory space after he ate the last piece of food. I mean, come on. Even Philza does not rage like eRobb does, and Philza's world featured in this video (I think?) started the entire Hundred Days challenge genre that we all know and love today. And he accepts what happens, like getting glitched out of the world at 10:20, which is in my opinion an unfair way to die, as it is a glitch. Still, he does not rage. From what I have seen, Philza is fully geared and has been playing for a long time on the world when he dies, and I would be more frustrated to lose a world where I have crazy gear than a world where I have not gotten diamonds yet, as is the case from what I can see in most of eRobb's clips.

A lot of these have me contemplating making a Hardcore Survival Guide video. There are a LOT of situations here where someone was in a spot they NEVER should've been, or simply panicked and started pressing random keys.
I’ve actually had something similar to 7:35 happen to me, I was in a cave in full diamond gear with max enchanted pick and I went to fight a creeper near a lava pool, placed water down to block the lava, creeper exploded sending me towards the lava faster than the water did and the water obsidianed me in the lava and my pick was barely not fast enough, I was heartbroken 😂

That xQc clip at 3:14 is tragically amazing in so many ways, because you wouldn't know what happened unless you paid attention.
If he had chose to eat any of the other food items in his inventory, he would have survived; the bread, the potatoes, the porkchops, the fish, all of which would have kept him alive.
But the perfect storm of the Enderman dropping a pearl, which itself is rare, mixed with him being so panicked he selected the porkchops but then swapped over to choosing the single apple in his inventory, mixed with him picking up the pearl before the sand block right beside it, also mixed with him being at exactly 2 hearts.
All of which combined perfectly to make such a beautifully tragic moment, and the fact it wasn't scripted is absolutely phenomenal. Cinema can only wish to capture such a level of beauty.

Actually happened to me once, it wasn't a hard-core world, I was in the middle of a speed run and my axe broke with a finishing blow to an enderman, but I didn't realize it until I tried blocking my shield at a nearby skeleton and ended up using the pearl which had replaced my broken axes slot and died

It took me hundreds of failures before beating the Ender Dragon. I have been the game in hardcore only four times. The second time I had to recreate my world, the first and third times I had to create the world in creative to locate structures and then recreate it in hardcore. Only the fourth time was legit in my experience. If I died I had to create a new world with a different seed. The fourth time I created a world only once and only in hardcore mode. I admit the Ender part was very stressful for me because I was aware my days of hard work and efforts could have been in vain, and there was a risk an Enderman could have ended me as I was about to jump into the portal before the credits rolled. Fortunately I survived everything and made it to the portal safely. I made sure to take a few screenshots, even though I can’t seem to find them on my hard drive. But people can fake screenshots, even though it is not my type and I don’t see the point of doing such a thing. I do not expect anyone to believe me and that’s okay

For those who didn’t see, after eating the apple, the ender pearl was put into his hand, which as he was already holding right click, automatically threw it, dealing fall damage from pearling.
Most of the deaths could have been avoided easily if they werent overconfident or careless or distracted. Playing at a slow pace, cautious and patient wins it in the end. Creeperdeaths are nasty. I try to clear the area, before i enter a generated structure like a desert temple

I think i lost like over 20 worlds with full diamond equipment and almost finding netherite and 15 or more then that worlds with normal diamond tools and iron armour and i mostly died by cave and very few times in nether and i recently died with full enchanted diamond armour and full enchanted diamond tools yesterday but still 😢

his inventory was full when he killed the enderman, so when the ate the apple to regain health, one slot opened up and he was still right clicking so he threw the ender pearl which takes damage, so he died

In case someone is wondering why he died in 3:20 its because when he ate the apple his inventory was full so when that one slot was empty he picked up the pearl, still holding right click, he threw it and died.
