- Ever wondered How to Catch a Shark? In this episode of The Totally Awesome Fishing Show, Graeme Pullen & Wayne Comben take the cameras far out into Falmouth Bay to show you how to catch a shark - the blue shark, a species that visits British waters in the summer and autumn. Graeme Pullen has long been crazy on shark fishing and has been tagging them for research for over 35 years. He is almost on first name terms with them, and gives you loads of tips, including his "secret" shark teaser - never before has he revealed this - you won't believe what it is! and we reckon loads of "sharkies" are going to copy this one. There's plenty of action, and some exclusive underwater shots of sharks, plus a real-life shark attack when two blues attack and bite his famous yellow shark tagging 17ft boat "Hi-Sea-Drifter". He also gets exclusive footage showing a blue shark clearly biting the boat's propellor! AWESOME! Already done it.Film is in our vintage section.Think we had 189 sturgeon in a week with Fred Helmer and his guides out of Chilliwack. No granders though !!! Big fish and great scenery.

first of all i wanna say how much i've learnt with your videos they are awesome and inspiring, now im located in plymouth and fancying doing some shark fishing soon, i have a peen fathom not sure what line to use tho 30 or 50 braid ? how far down do you set your bait from the float (deep) ? do you anchor in place ? thank you very much and keep up with the good work
Hi thanks for your comment. When blue shark fishing you generally drift. The bait can be any depth from 6-90ft. Shallow baits tend to get more blue sharks but you must have good chum. I don't like braid, I use 50lb mono, but if you must use braid maybe use 80? Don't start fishing for blues until end of june when the numbers start to come in and it lasts until the end of october. Yes, I tagged a Bonnethead shark in the Florida Keys, returned on another holiday there and caught the very same shark. What are the chances of that ! Shark was again released.

Glad to hear it..You have some fantastic fishing(and weather) down there .I have also adapted techniques from my many excursions down the Keys for my own fishing.One of which works really well for our Shore Conger. Why not send Mike a picture of any of your sharks,he may be able to put it on the T/A Fishing Facebook.

it's amazing what a $5 screw on filter will do at walmart, there are a number of people selling them that snap into the inside of gopro's. almost a must have for fishing videos
How deep should your bait be underneath your ballon?
Gregory Light For blue shark shallow is better. 20 feet to 70 feet depending on speed of drift. For Porbeagle from 1/3 to 2/3 of the depth you are in,though I have had them virtually taking out of my hand on the surface when they circle the boat.You really need to check out our DVD.."The Ultimate guide to Blue Shark fishing".On our site it should give you all the tips you need for catching sharks in UK waters,plus of course some great film action.Good luck with it.
TAFishing Hi Graeme, I am heading out to California, U.S, for Leopard shark fishing, but I just found out that I might be able to hook into 12-15 foot great white sharks. I have the #15 single strand piano wire setup that you talked about in an older video and now I am wondering if I can use stingrays as bait and what the hook size should be. I have about 300 lb braid as my main line and then 3 feet steel cable as the leader. Help please!
PathTo Entrepreneurship I think you might find it is illegal to intentionally target white sharks.I would check for any leaders/hooks etc with a tackle shop that is local to the area you are leaving from.Or maybe the people that are taking you out after Leopard sharks.Best to get the right information from the people taking you out.Good luck with it.
15:45 that's a lion's mane I think it's got a terrible sting probably the worst you'd get around Ireland/UK you'll feel the sting and your pulse the whole day if you got stung in the morning

Usually 3 or 4 x 15 litre paint tubs full. That's with the bran added as well. Works best from frozen, it thaws out slowly and steadily rather than one big billowing cloud that only lasts five minutes.
Bet you ended up with hands like a were wolf after that lot.
hi i am interested in smooth hound tagging from poole could you help me do i need a licence and where do i get the tags.
Cant help that one as I've never fished Poole . Never heard of needing a license for tagging either ? I think its all been done before by various fisheries depts. Check with MAFF.
