    This is 10x better than any documentary. The sound so raw and dynamic. The lack of any editing lets you really understand just how much time passes between each arrival (which is actually very little). Cool that you can see the next 2-ships in the overhead just as the previous guy is on final. Great stuff, thanks for posting.

    why have to toss away the "rope" during the hoist-back? What's on that area?

    • @Yoko_Grim
      @Yoko_Grim 4 роки тому +4

      I have zero experience or knowledge, so this is my best guess.
      I’m assuming it’s to do with the cables crossing over eachother, and the crew guy is preventing it from getting stuck or something.
      Again, this is a GUESS. I have ZERO clue what the reason is.

    • @thetralierzone351
      @thetralierzone351 4 роки тому

      I got the reason it is meant to stop the plane on time so it does not fall off the carrier that's why

    • @Yoko_Grim
      @Yoko_Grim 4 роки тому +3

      Red Arcade Zone 2
      You didn’t read the original question. We know the cables are to stop the plane. We’re asking why they have to TOSS IT OVER the other cable, when they’re pulling it back.

    • @kissofdeath4449
      @kissofdeath4449 4 роки тому +1

      My best guess: the rope has some sort of "knot" in it( that's exactly where he's tossing the rope). During the hoist back if the cable's approach is perpendicular (or out of axis) it could get stuck half-way and lack tension to stop the next air craft.

    Spent 7 years AD in the Navy, got out as an AW2. I did four deployments on carriers and I can tell you right now, there is no country on earth that can match this, NOT ONE. If leaders of other countries really knew (some do) the real capabilities of the US Navy, they would never open their mouths again...

      I’m sorry to point out that hypersonic missiles and ballistic missiles from shore launchers can reach carriers. Pure number of them will overwhelm Aegis and CAP. The carrier fleet is a power projection and peacetime show-the-flag, but certain long range missiles and access denial warfare will cripple the carrier groups.

      I don't think it's comfortable like you thought, even my dad when he testing car with it's speed, etc that my dad worked before it's tiring, lot of bumps, vibration from vehicle, etc.. I can't imagine jet though, probably the bad example because the best way is to ask one of the pilots or pilot's friend.. maybe lot of active engine feeling? 🤷🏻‍♀️
      And also y- oh wait you don't need to learn, just sit in there for a while and that's it. If they allow you XD (even that ship)
