It's always weird to me when games like Spider-Man 3 leak and people see early game footage, like pre-alpha footage, and say it looks bad. My brother in Christ, NOTHING looks good that early.

It’s insane they are still selling so well with the switch and just releasing remaster and remakes. Meanwhile their developers get to focus on on the switch 2 games, and it’s set to sell very well. If we look at it realistically if XBox folded after the success of the 360 because of going to the Xbox one which was a blunder Nintendo did the same thing from going from the Wii to the Wii U Nintendo rebounded because they came out with a product that was good and they had the games to back the system. And that's still with missing some giant franchises on it just imagine if they had things like Call of Duty and it ran good or Madden or any of the other really truly big franchise like FIFA not that crap Legacy game at the end of the day all you have to do as a company is simply have a good lineup of games and at least okay Hardware and Nintendo has proved that hands down. I wouldn't consider multiplayer an aha moment, especially for a fromsoft game. It is such a basic feature for a modern game and fromsoft always thrived on the illogical and weird. Elden Ring has way fewer of those which is why it is more popular among casuals, but less interesting for long time fans.
multiplayer is not a new feature but many games still really struggle with it. there was period where almost every game just threw it in as an afterthought, but considering the amount of dead multiplayer experiences I can see why they don't do it so much.
Once I heard Black Myth Wukong was not a Soulslike, it immediately bumped up my interest level. I will definitely keep an eye on it, even if I do not purchase it day one.
Miyazaki is first and foremost a developer interested in games and what makes them fun. Really FS is one of the last few cornerstones of this industry.
I don't know why people continuously seem to forget that Nintendo isn't afraid to simply sit on a game to release when the time is right. And I believe the same is true for Metroid Prime 4. I mean, just look at Prime Remastered. I think they sat on that for like 1.5-2 years. Leakers were expecting a release long before it was shadow dropped, and given that Retro worked on that kind of tells me that they haven't just been pouring massive amounts of resources into Prime 4 all these years. It's likely a strategic release that they were holding onto until they had a firm understanding of their next platform's release.

Nintendo re-releases old games at inflated prices and consumers gobble them up. It is a strange addiction that people have to the brand that clearly thinks very little of its consumer base. PSA: Soulslike is not a difficulty setting. It doesn’t go easy, normal, Souls. Souls games iterated on the action RPG genre by building risk reward into its leveling and character growth systems where you can lose the experience you gain before allocating it to stats used to strengthen your character a la the titular “Souls,” and a lot of that risk and challenge was engineered by esoteric environmental exploration (paired with esoteric environmental storytelling) and limited resources for healing etc. even more so than the actual combat difficulty itself (especially in the original titles) Let’s stop calling things Soulslike or not based on if they look like a gritty or challenging action game. It’s an actual set of action RPG mechanics that have inspired a whole sub genre

From the poll yesterday it was shocking how many people think FF7 Rebirth is a remake of FF7. It’s clearly a reimagining. The story isn’t even remotely the same. It makes me question how many people here have actually played the original FF7.

My vision for the next Smash is to cut the roster way down. To like 10 characters and then over the course of the Switch 2's life, only release like 2 characters a year. Only 20 in total. I think it would make the game much more competitive.

I completely stopped caring about the Smash Bros. series after Ultimate (which was anything BUT ultimate to me). I stopped playing Ultimate even before any (or most) of the DLC characters were announced. I was SO bored with it. I am NOT a fan of games that are mostly catered to multi-player. I'd LOVE a new Mario Baseball game. I've been wanting one for years. But Nintendo would probably screw it up and make it more bare bones than previous games (like I heard they did with Mario Golf: Star Rush).
Metroid Prime 4 has been in development for ages. I remember Diablo 4 was anticipated for several years and now it came out one year ago- and it's just back to I'm guessing a small dedicated player base, but a burst of mass appeal. Even Elon Musk plays Diablo 4.

I think its okay in terms of difficulty. Games shouldn't severely punish players, we are NOT autistic that fancy repetition but to each their own.

Souls games iterated on the action RPG genre by building risk reward into its leveling and character growth systems where you can lose the experience you gain before allocating it to stats used to strengthen your character a la the titular “Souls,” and a lot of that risk and challenge was engineered by esoteric environmental exploration (paired with esoteric environmental storytelling) and limited resources for healing etc. even more so than the actual combat difficulty itself (especially in the original titles)
Let’s stop calling things Soulslike or not based on if they look like a gritty or challenging action game. It’s an actual set of action RPG mechanics that have inspired a whole sub genre

From the poll yesterday it was shocking how many people think FF7 Rebirth is a remake of FF7. It’s clearly a reimagining. The story isn’t even remotely the same. It makes me question how many people here have actually played the original FF7.
They play for the hype. This is not remaster of course. SE already said in the past where if they ever did remake or remaster FF7 it would mean that they are milking that game.
I personally would have preferred a remaster of the original 🤷♂️ new one is nice and all but I prefer the old play style
Well i think that all the FF games suck so I would be one of those people who think its a remake seeing as that's exactly what it is. you can change whatever you want in the game but it is still the same thing they just changed some things.
To be fair... the first entry of the FF7 trilogy is called, and I quote, "Final Fantasy 7: *REMAKE.* Soooo... to act like it is unreasonable for those of us who didn't play the original to think that the FF7 trilogy isn't a remake when it is explicitly in the title is a bit unreasonable, don't you think? Regarding Insomniac's Wolverine game.... I'd really like branching/linear with semi open world backtracking options - with a souls-like format for combat and exploration.
Remember the Sun Wukong was the inspiration for Goku.
My vision for the next Smash is to cut the roster way down. To like 10 characters and then over the course of the Switch 2's life, only release like 2 characters a year. Only 20 in total. I think it would make the game much more competitive.

I completely stopped caring about the Smash Bros. series after Ultimate (which was anything BUT ultimate to me). I stopped playing Ultimate even before any (or most) of the DLC characters were announced. I was SO bored with it. I am NOT a fan of games that are mostly catered to multi-player.
I'd LOVE a new Mario Baseball game. I've been wanting one for years. But Nintendo would probably screw it up and make it more bare bones than previous games (like I heard they did with Mario Golf: Star Rush).
I absolutely think a multi-player souls experience is going to end up being a waste of time, like Last of Us online. Don't do it.
Metroid Prime 4 has been in development for ages. I remember Diablo 4 was anticipated for several years and now it came out one year ago- and it's just back to I'm guessing a small dedicated player base, but a burst of mass appeal. Even Elon Musk plays Diablo 4.
