My pastor (from my childhood) also told this in his sermon at Christmas. I think that is why I love pinecones at Christmas. I have a collection of them in many sizes and shapes.
You always make such beautiful bows. My oldest son’s first job was working for a place that was a furniture store and Florist combined.My son was hired to work in the furniture part of the business but on holidays such as Mother’s Day and Valentines he had to help in the florist side so they could get all of their orders out. To make a long story short they taught him how to make bows. They had be in business for 40 years so they had plenty of experience. He taught me the way they made their bows and I am still making them 38years later. “Yes my son will be 56 years old next month.”My youngest son is also very talented in making home decor but he is a hairdresser. That is his passion and he is very good at it.
I watch alot of other channels and I feel like so many of their crafts are repetitive and very similar to each other. Everytime I watch you Wendy I know you will have something completely different and creative! Your imagination is a beautiful place ❤️ and I just love everything you create! I have some crocheted cotton dish clothes given to me as a Bridal Shower gift 29 years ago from a fellow RN. I could never use them either. She was so precious. Many people did understand this older nurse, but she and I got along very well. I had braces then and was having trouble with them, and she bought me a Water-pick. Wendy, I fail with the Biblical knowledge you have, since my stroke, I cannot retain information like I used to and I am only 52 years old. Enough about me. I love how you displayed the cabinet. I miss having family. When God called my Mom home it left me alone and it’s hard. Seems the family I had in cousins now have their own families and I’m not needed. Yet I needed them. But, I do have my Savior Jesus or I wouldn’t be able to handle the days. Tomorrow will be eight years since my mom passed away. Please keep me in prayer. It’s gonna be a day that only God can get me through. I just don’t enjoy the holidays anymore as much since she’s gone on Home. But I know one day we will be together again. A little hint for your viewers. I can't always go shopping to the Dollar Store or Wally's. The nearest other craft stores are over an hour away. For the wreath you can use a wire coat hanger. Many thrift stores give them away. White felt can be painted with fabric paint, spray paint, Glitter paint, flower petal paint. No need to leave them white if you don't want too. For those of you that don't have a Cricut or a Sizzix, you can still use vinyl. What I do is I go online to a free clip art page, print the picture i want and then I use that as my stencil on the vinyl. Just use a sharp x-acto knife to cut the vinyl. I love the shadow box. That's a great idea.

Wendy I found this article related to the pine cone and found it very interesting how the pine cone and its seeds are related to us and the relationship with our Heavenly Father. I hope you are inspired as I am. Merry CHRISTmas to and your beautiful family. Thank again foe sharing ur gift and talent. Watching your diys is like having a good bible study. Thank you for allowing God to use you. I truly Love you. Our place has many of this kind of pine tree. It is covered with cones in the fall of the year. During wind storms these fall to the ground. The sharp symmetrical sections on thee cones have interesting patterns. Tucked away inside each section is a seed capable of growing another 50-60 foot tall tree. It is an amazing miracle when you think of it. We have thousands of tiny seedling trees everywhere. These cones do a good job of starting up new trees. Let's figure out some of their secrets. There is a great abundance of these cones. I wish we could sell them and raise funds for our children's TV studio. We gather these cones to help start fires in the winter. They are so pretty. As I set the prettiest on a silver platter in the middle of the table, I think of God's love of beauty. He created this method of making new trees and could have just made an ugly thing to drop to the ground and make a new tree. Yet He created a masterpiece of art in it's design. This closed cone keeps the new seeds safe from being eaten by insects and dry from the rain. All is shut tight and no seeds can come out. What makes the pine cone open and give out its seeds? It is not always open. There has to be just the right things happen or it stays shut. Many use this method to determine if a cone is ready to open to get the seeds out. It is a better method than trying to decide based on the color of the cone or shape. If it floats, it is ready to open. The seeds have to be ready. If they have not grown big enough and are not completely formed, they will not make good trees. The seeds might not ever germinate and grow new trees. They are given the float test to make sure they are ready. In the same way, Jesus makes sure we are ready for a trial when He sees our seeds are ready. During the trial, the heat is on and it causes us to open up and let out seeds. These seeds are a symbol of sharing our Christian experience. As we lean on Jesus during trials, we gather up promises and comfort that God has given to us. Then we share our story with others. As we share new trees are planted. The Bible talks about Christians as trees of the Lord planted by the waters that never wilt or die because our roots are in Jesus the Living Water.

I have some crocheted cotton dish clothes given to me as a Bridal Shower gift 29 years ago from a fellow RN. I could never use them either. She was so precious. A little hint for your viewers. I can't always go shopping to the Dollar Store or Wally's. The nearest other craft stores are over an hour away. For the wreath you can use a wire coat hanger. Many thrift stores give them away. White felt can be painted with fabric paint, spray paint, Glitter paint, flower petal paint. No need to leave them white if you don't want too. For those of you that don't have a Cricut or a Sizzix, you can still use vinyl. What I do is I go online to a free clip art page, print the picture i want and then I use that as my stencil on the vinyl. Just use a sharp x-acto knife to cut the vinyl. I love the shadow box. That's a great idea.

Wendy I found this article related to the pine cone and found it very interesting how the pine cone and its seeds are related to us and the relationship with our Heavenly Father. Our place has many of this kind of pine tree. It is covered with cones in the fall of the year. During wind storms these fall to the ground. The sharp symmetrical sections on thee cones have interesting patterns. Tucked away inside each section is a seed capable of growing another 50-60 foot tall tree. It is an amazing miracle when you think of it. We have thousands of tiny seedling trees everywhere. These cones do a good job of starting up new trees. Let's figure out some of their secrets.
There is a great abundance of these cones. I wish we could sell them and raise funds for our children's TV studio. We gather these cones to help start fires in the winter. They are so pretty. As I set the prettiest on a silver platter in the middle of the table, I think of God's love of beauty. He created this method of making new trees and could have just made an ugly thing to drop to the ground and make a new tree. Yet He created a masterpiece of art in it's design.
This closed cone keeps the new seeds safe from being eaten by insects and dry from the rain. All is shut tight and no seeds can come out.
What makes the pine cone open and give out its seeds? It is not always open. There has to be just the right things happen or it stays shut.
Many use this method to determine if a cone is ready to open to get the seeds out. It is a better method than trying to decide based on the color of the cone or shape. If it floats, it is ready to open.
The seeds have to be ready. If they have not grown big enough and are not completely formed, they will not make good trees. The seeds might not ever germinate and grow new trees. They are given the float test to make sure they are ready.
In the same way, Jesus makes sure we are ready for a trial when He sees our seeds are ready. During the trial, the heat is on and it causes us to open up and let out seeds. These seeds are a symbol of sharing our Christian experience. As we lean on Jesus during trials, we gather up promises and comfort that God has given to us. Then we share our story with others. As we share new trees are planted. The Bible talks about Christians as trees of the Lord planted by the waters that never wilt or die because our roots are in Jesus the Living Water.
