As a dragoon, I don't want Selen to leave since she makes amazing content with her NijiEN collabs but if getting out is what will make her happy, I'm all for it.
The thing that's concerning me is how so many 'fans' tell her to graduate. That's just forcing and pressuring her at this point. She's an adult and she can make her own decisions, nobody should make her do something she doesn't totally agree with. I totally support her if she thinks graduation is the best for her but based on her 3d birthday concert and her recent community post she seems to be fine staying in niji.

I keep seeing people “defend” NJ by arguing that EN(/ID/anywhere else) markets are “not a priority” and that their “priority” is JP - that _still_ doesn’t mean you should be continually undercutting, shortchanging and outright sabotaging your extra-JP divisions. It’s outright nonsensical to make decisions that negatively impact the financial outcome of a group, and then gradually start pulling the proverbial pin on them under the claim of them being unprofitable (or not profitable ‘enough’) I know some of what I said doesn’t necessarily apply to Selen in this particular incident but, nevertheless, I _keep seeing NJ do stuff_ like this & then people trying to excuse it by making similar statements to the ones I made above, so I figured I’d comment about it in any case I thought, after NJ (presumably) allowed their talents to appear on Filian’s show to accept their awards, that they were finally starting to make attempts to right the ship. I can only speculate that one of three things must be happening. One possibility: Niji needs to double check copyright clearances, and needed to private the video until they double check Selen cleared the rights with LilyPichu. Another possibility: they took it down because they don't want any graduated vTubers on their YT channels. Yet another possibility: a non-Japanese talent is showing up Japanese talents and some sort of tension is filtering down from either owners or talents to management. I have no idea what the culture is like inside Niji, but from the fact that every non-JP branch seems to face disproportionately high difficulties and management problems, I'm starting to wonder if there's a targeted racial component to how Niji management is operating...
All of the projects that had been shut down was mostly funded by herself while Niji management just whines in the background and says no to everything. All they could've done was support this and yet nothing was done to help. I do wish we have a project fund account for her so that she wouldn't lose much when this shit happens.

Graduation is end of the line for a lot of talents. It marks the end of an era and a hard stop in career for those that allow pushback to dissuade them from streaming entirely. Selen's experience is an example of the level of pushback that kills most careers after a few weeks but she keeps on truckin. I'm not a Niji fan nor do I care for corpos that trust the company not to do things like this to them, especially when it has been demonstrated before. Still, creativity nets its own rewards. Platforming through a company has its benefits but there is a line that gets crossed when the company minimizes the efforts and achievements of creative talents that probably need to ascend to something better. This is Niji we're talking about so it really doesn't take much to find better. Going independent is always the more beneficial option for these driven types. Selen will get through this and so will her fans.

On her separate account she said she lost 15k recently and she was going to have merch pushed faster due to it. She’ll bounce back I’m sure, but will this push her towards things? It would be tough to say no.

I really wondered what's wrong with their management whenever there's things like these pop up. It felt like they scared to have a talented person in their company. Even if they want to prioritize JP side like some people said, it really doesn't make sense. Like, she's practically can roll money for them if things done right, but they seem reluctant about it. YET. its been implied and even hinted at by beni that there will likely be an english branch in the near future for vspo. i think 3d models and branching out into the mainstream was vspos biggest goal in 2023, safe to say they absolutely succeeded at that hands down, i think now they are going to shift a bit of their resources to make a splash in foreign markets, i wouldnt be surprised to see an indonesian or chinese branch at some point as well.

@apez12671 just my opinion but it's possible she's staying for the fans and friends. She might be scared that if she leaves she'd loose one or both of those. Granted we know that's not the case but it's a rational paranoia to have

I can only speculate that one of three things must be happening. One possibility: Niji needs to double check copyright clearances, and needed to private the video until they double check Selen cleared the rights with LilyPichu. Another possibility: they took it down because they don't want any graduated vTubers on their YT channels. Yet another possibility: a non-Japanese talent is showing up Japanese talents and some sort of tension is filtering down from either owners or talents to management. I have no idea what the culture is like inside Niji, but from the fact that every non-JP branch seems to face disproportionately high difficulties and management problems, I'm starting to wonder if there's a targeted racial component to how Niji management is operating...

Graduation is end of the line for a lot of talents. It marks the end of an era and a hard stop in career for those that allow pushback to dissuade them from streaming entirely. Selen's experience is an example of the level of pushback that kills most careers after a few weeks but she keeps on truckin. I'm not a Niji fan nor do I care for corpos that trust the company not to do things like this to them, especially when it has been demonstrated before. Still, creativity nets its own rewards. Platforming through a company has its benefits but there is a line that gets crossed when the company minimizes the efforts and achievements of creative talents that probably need to ascend to something better. This is Niji we're talking about so it really doesn't take much to find better. Going independent is always the more beneficial option for these driven types. Selen will get through this and so will her fans.

On her separate account she said she lost 15k recently and she was going to have merch pushed faster due to it. She’ll bounce back I’m sure, but will this push her towards things? It would be tough to say no.

YET. its been implied and even hinted at by beni that there will likely be an english branch in the near future for vspo. i think 3d models and branching out into the mainstream was vspos biggest goal in 2023, safe to say they absolutely succeeded at that hands down, i think now they are going to shift a bit of their resources to make a splash in foreign markets, i wouldnt be surprised to see an indonesian or chinese branch at some point as well.
it just seems like tazumi is the kind who would have such massive ego and get jealous when selen or potentially other talents does the things that would help the community grow more better what he would do.
