This popped up randomly in my UA-cam wall o'vids the day it was posted (no doubt for algorithmic reasons due to my multiple current D&D liveplay subs)...honestly wasn't familiar with anyone other than Harry & Doug at first glance...but I must say I'm impressed with the overall good energy & attitude of the group (also doesn't hurt that they're pro actors TBH 🙂). Subscribed and backed the Kickstarter - got a good feeling about this show & can't wait to see more!
Pledged because I lurked on Harry's twitch stream - got me through a v difficult time in my life and wanted to support him doing something he loves. This will be my first ever experience of D&D. What a talented bunch 😄good luck!!!
Harry was stellar with the Oxventure, and the rest of the Natural Six are going to be just as stellar. I would love to see Harry's character from Oxventure make a cameo lol
@@theformalmooshroom9147 Idk who they are, apparently people in the game industry (I'm assuming voice actors akin to Critical Role?) and they explain the crowd funding this way in the Kickstarter: "We want to play D&D and share our adventures with the world, but production takes both time and money, and we’d love to be able to bring the very best version of our creative vision to life. Not only that - we want to have the ability to pay everyone we collaborate with a fair wage. A Kickstarter will cover getting started with things like studio and equipment hire, production and editing fees, branding, travel costs, artwork, licensing, stipends and much more."
This was a real roller coaster for me. The Oxventure is realistically what puts it in my feed in the first place, then I realize "holy s*** that's Aoife!!" Then the first comment I see mentions Harry, one of my favorite guests that brings it back to the Oxventure
found this on accident in my recommended and watched it. im already in love with this chaos. been here for like 10 minutes but ill be sure to check out when you play! looks so sick already
It's funny he had the druid in his mind already before the Stat rolls, and didn't want to type cast himself as a Hexblade Warlock ( basically a Witcher in dnd)
First character I ever rolled up using this method, way back in AD&D 2nd Ed had 18, 18, 17, 15, 13, 13. Rufus Malagant was a lawful evil (yes our DM let me play as evil) fighter. I assigned my stats in the following order. STR - 18 (+4) DEX - 15 (+2) CON - 18 (+4) WIT - 13 (+!) INT - 13 (+!) CHA - 17 (+3) Charisma got a high score so that I could talk my way out of trouble if needed. My 'lawfulness' was handled bt the fact that Rufus had a strict personal code of conduct that he lived by, and basically served as a mercneary within the group. I was loyal, as long as I got paid. My 'evilness', while not directed at the other party members, was exercised often, sometimes multiple times in a session. An example of how this played out was like this. After being attacked by a group of villagers who had been coerced into it by an evil sorceress, a debate waged around what to do with the survivors who had surrendered. The 2 lawful good characters, wanted to let them go and trust that they wouldn't inform the sorceress of where we were. The other 2 good characters (1 NG and 1 CG) both wanted to leave them tied up in the woods, like they currently were. Our CN Thief (and groups sole female player and character) was keeping an eye on the prisoners away from the debate. Malagant's suggestion was to kill them, which the four goods were opposed to. I suggested taking over watching the prisoners from our thief, promising that once they reached a decission that I would abide by it. Once the thief was with the group, she too suggested killing the prisoners, as it was too great a risk if they managed to report back to the sorceress. As the 4 goods tried to convince the thief to change her vote, and thereby break the, now, three way tie. I passed our DM a note. He scribbled a reply and passed it back. Malagant then returned to the group and informed the group that he had resolved the prisonner problem, as he had killed them all. The goods were all "But you promised to abide by any decission we made!" To which I asked "Well have you reached a decission?" A collective reply of "Well, no." To which I pointed out that as I never promised to wait until they reached a decission before acting, I was still acting on the part of my characters personal code of conduct that says "I will always keeping my word, once it is given." Our LG CLeric, and party leader, then replied "But you murdered those people." Out of character, I replied, "Uh. Evil. Remember."

Good on you rolling for ability scores! I’m seeing lots of people crapping on and complaining about this tried and true method. It’s just the most fun way and a good DM can handle perceived out real disparity in PC power. Well done!
