just incredible how devoted Cliff & Co are to constantly improving an already fantastic product.. it just keeps getting better and better.. and they're super blessed for having you as one of their ambassadors.. as always thank you Cliff.. and thank YOU Leon!
@@LeonTodd hey Leon i bought an axe 3 and i also have a mesa Simul class 90-watt stereo power amp and i am struggling with it sounds nothing like your vids its very muddy and generic i had a line 6 vetta head that sounded better any help would be greatly appreciated
That tape chorus has a lo-fi grunginess about it that really sounds lovely. Gapless switching is awesome, I've been pleased with the scene switching on the Axe III already but this will make things even better. If they ported this to the FM3 & FM9, I could see keeping the Axe at home and having an FM for gigging...I just have to say, I'm really impressed with Fractal. Every update, every new release, every tweak just makes it that much better! Then, to top it all off, we have you here to walk us through all the gory details and teach us how to use it all!
I’ve regretted many guitar gear purchases over the years, but never the Fractal stuff. It’s constantly improving and the community is full of a lot of great musicians.
The gapless switching is going to make a lot of people happy. They always do great with their updates. Nice job again my friend. Talk to you soon a lot of people.
The AxeFxIII is definetly the most innovative unit I've seen in my 55 years of service in the music business. The sky is the limit is an understatement by far,,the updates are a whiz, especially with "Turbo" feature and tons of help available on you tube Leon Todd etc. Complete thanks and kudos to Fractal, and the designers !!! Absolutely The very best unit available period...
Past couple years really disappointed with the gap as I play live frequently and I had done all the tricks (reduce CPU, lower Reverb quality, parallel amps, on and on - I even emailed Leon and actually responded offering assistance) and all along I thought it would require new hardware and faster CPU's to accomplish gapless and that super bummed me out considering the several thousands invested - now, the fact gapless is achieved/addressed via programming is just overally impressive - it's the gift that keeps on giving - wow, just wow…
I've tried to move away from the Axe Fx 3, in lieu of some other amp, or unit, and dammit if something Cliff does, just brings me back. I have told friends not to sell this unit short. Its abilities, and sounds will stand up to some of the best. Keep up the great work Leon.
This is incredible. I have an FM3, and if it was to become available on that it would almost completely remove the CPU limitations. I could have a crazy synth preset for a part of a song on one preset and then my normal guitar sound on another and just swap between them throughout the song seemlessly. No more CPU issues.
Comprehensive and accessible overview of all the great new features. Use case scenarios thrown in too. Some of your best playing to….some awesome music. Keep up the amazing work content. Thanks Leon, a legend in the fractal universe!!
Next update simply needs to be a “Leon Todd builds your rig”. Almost all my personal presets are born from ideas I blatantly stole from you😊. Thanks for continuing to be an advocate for such a beast of a machine and making it accessible for any level player.
The LFO on the delay eq high cut was SICK. Definitely going to try some sequencer on that bad boy and make some real spicy ambient stuff. Great vid as always Leon!
@@LeonTodd agreed, I really would have expected this to require a massive leap in processing power and memory but they've figured it out somehow, super cool.
Leon, love the fractal content. One thing I have always wondered as a fractal owner is what the fractal stuff with a SS power amp sounds like compared with the real amp through the same cab. Is there any way you could do a comparison like this? Curious how close it can actually get
Fantastic review. Fractal should be very proud for all you’re for their products. And your guitar skills and performance are amazingly impressive. You really does inspire me to play the guitar more and more. Hope to see this update soon for the FM9. Keep up the good work 🎸🎸🎸💯💯💯💯
I have to say that Axe-Fx III is now way ahead of the competition. Of course, this machine is mainly for tinkerers, tweakers and studio owners. The effects in particular are on a par with the best studio effects in terms of functionality and quality and of course surpass them in quantity.
I've helped setup loads of Fractal units for "plug and play" giggers, and it's mostly a case of identifying what they would use in a traditional rig and recreating that.
Well this is amazing. Will drastically reduce CPU I’m guessing. Using channels to run different amps and settings instead of control switches….glorious. Hoping it’s not long till FM9 gets it!
Thanks Leon, as always, for showing us the awesomeness of Fractal! One question, did you notice an impact on CPU with the new gapless switching? Cheers.
It's great that there is gapless switching now. But why did it take gapless switching from Fender to make this finally happen if the potential was there? Great Porcupine Tree riffin' !!!!!! In Absentia is a great album. Too bad it didn't have a little heavier guitar-based edge IMO.
I think it makes the set song function work better too. you can create a song in set/songs with multiple presets. before I never had mode than one preset in a song.
Seems like all the updates are about the AX3. What I like about the helix is that, whenever they have updates, all the other HX families get the same updates. I happen to be an FM9 owner as well as Helix floor owner.
I really like the consolidated updates L6 do. Fractal tend to get stuff into the big one first then port it to the floor units. Pumped to see all of this in the FM9
Dayumm USA Lead Mid Gain and Tape Chorus 🤯 BTW mate you didn't talk about the new Improved Amp block triode algorithm, have you noticed anything improved ? Cheers 🤘

So, for gapless switching, do all the blocks have to be the same between presets? Or can you have dramatically different chains (different amps, cabs, effects) per preset?
The gapless switching is great. The problem with the Axe is that it sounds horrible and cold except for the fx where it is leader in the market especially with the reverbs and delay that are probably the best outhere.

If this gapless makes it to the FM3, I'm a happy man.
Cliff has mentioned on the forums they're working on it.
Yep, it would be incredible! Makes channels so much more powerful.

Can i ask how do you know if your fx111 turbo is up to date, my Axe Edit is up do date but not sure about the rack unit? Great vids.
Open fractal Bot and see if it prompts you to update or not
Thanks Leon, don't think I have that yet. I better get the Bot Lol. Thanks again.
Does this update apply to the other Fractal products? FM9 and FM3?
They run separate firmware. Hopefully most of this will be ported over
Great stiff Leon!
I am reviewing the fractal website and they still show the latest firmware as 22. Is the 23 version available or just beta?
This is a full release. Website should be updated pretty quickly but Fractalbot usually has it first.
Hi!
This update about Gap, works on FM9 Turbo?
Not yet, the FM9 gets separate firmware updates.
Porcupine Tree! 😀
Some Porcupine Tree love!!!
Any clue if they can do the gap less switching on the fm9 non turbo? Hoping to see it in a future update!
Apparently they're working on it. No guarantees given though.
@@LeonTodd ok cool, fingers crossed.
Sir, I have just one question: What type of style you cannot play :D
are u using doubletracking on these samples?
What you see is what you get. There's some stereo detune in the pitch on a few parts that makes it sound a bit wider.
