I can crochet scrunchies that match my Hydro Flask and Crocs! ;) Imagine my surprise when I, a 33 year old lady, learned that big shirts, stainless steel water bottles/straws, scrunchies, and Crocs are a Gen Z trend. I just like to be comfy while I save the planet, haha! In all seriousness, I think I will make some of these. They're awfully adorable. Thank you for showing this newbie how to do this correctly! 😁

My cousin asked me to make her scrunchies so I saw your video. I love your videos. You explain everything so well. I saw in the end you used clear nail polish so it doesn’t fall apart. I am curious would you recommend using that method on blankets? I always worry things I make will fall apart
Happy to help! If I have a blanket that will be used heavily, I use Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion, which is a fabric glue. Just a dot of it on the final knots, joins, woven in ends, seems to give it that extra security. It dries pretty flexible and clear, but if you can position the joins at the end, and then make a border around the blanket, it practically completely hides the glue spot.
Donna, I am new to crocheting (about 2 years), I would consider my ability to crochet is only as good as the in depth tutorial. This is what I like about your tutorial videos. I cannot follow patterns, I learn by seeing & being hand held. Anyway, I am constantly disappointed by my afghans when they are fuzzy, despite the yarn I choose (appropriate for the project). What brands of yarn do not go fuzzy (if you know what I mean). Many times I see crochet tutorials and none of the projects appear fuzzy/ fibrous. Thanks for the informative videos. 🧶
I know exactly what you mean! When you are getting the yarn, before using it, take a good close look at the strand (hold it close to your eyes). Do you see fuzzy fibers sticking out all over the place? Most likely after a while and after washing, that type of yarn will become even fuzzier. If you take a look at 100% cotton yarn (like dishcloth type) you will find there are very few fibers and fuzzy stuff sticking out of the strand. It's usually very smooth. That's why 100% cotton rarely gets fuzzy after several years. However, cotton is not always appropriate for some items. So when looking at 100% acrylic yarn, or wool, or a blended yarn, examine it very closely before using it (as mentioned above) to see which one has smoother strands before getting it.
