  • Despite glowing reviews of this product, Restorer & Lub did nothing for the engine, did not help MPGS, Noise level is off the roof now, shot the MPG way down and now car run like crap :(, sounds like it's going to blow up. Do not put any additives into your vehicle. Also something is not right with the car computer now it's going up and down with the miles doesn't regulate, but MPGS are even going lower now it's just crazy mpgs 22 mph is NOT GOOD !
UPDATE Took car in. Found front wheel bearings are completely shot on both sides; This occurred at exact time the additive was put into car :(. This product review is not valid now, as the problem occurred right at exact time the oil change was done : O and some customer's review of VVT solenoid resembled what was being experienced on the drive. The original comments still stand & I would not still use product as I don't see any improvement on anything with the additive; it's a placibo, but very odd bushings hit the fan as soon as oil change and additive were added.
NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THE FOLLOWING AS THIS CUSTOMER STATED, "I have an 2010 Toyota that is burning oil. So I thought I would give this a try (I used it many years ago with success on another vehicle). I bought it, and planned to pour it in on my next oil change. I did some more research and saw some folks posting info about Engine Restore not being compatible with VVT systems. Long story short, it isn't. How do I know? I called the company. This warning is NOWHERE on the can (see picture), OR on the companies US website though. Why? My guess is they don't really want people to know that their product could clog the VVT or VTEC screens causing issues like check engine lights and ruined VVT solonoids. They are literally hiding that information. This product was made for engines that were last produced about 20+ years ago. The can does say "for older high milage engines" but come on, they know people will potentially use this in thier "newer" 10 year old car. And another thing that really ticks me off is that I have recommended this product over the years to others. Never again. Just beware if you have a Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Nissan/etc, or ANY vehicle with variable valve timing that uses oil pressure to operate (which 95% do) this is not the chemical for you"

I've used this in my 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner V6 2 times and never had any issues .

Like you said the car is 2000, but the newer cars should not be using this product. I will be switching out the VVT solonoid as this product messed something up in the engine and it's not going away; the engine is NOT performing well after using Restorer & Lubricant and miles are down the drain still even with a new oil change done, air filter exchanges, so as the individual pointed out this product RUINED the vvt solonoids - and reviewing the failing "VVT" symptoms I have almost all of them. I will never use this product again that's for sure.
