I think speeding it up 8x plays a big role in that, because I think the same thing when I watch those videos where overhaul the yard of an abandoned house lol
You are most welcome, my friend! It's funny. On a simple project, like this, you clearly see the project come together as it's happening. On more complicated projects I find myself questioning each step of the process until you see the end result lol.
Awesome job on that. It's my first time watching one of your videos, Mikey, you have earned a new subscriber. My hubby and I paint Dungeons & Dragons figurines, and weuse the exact same products you use, right down to the same brushes. Have a great Independence Day.
I use both, as well as some of their other paints, like shade! If I recall correctly, Kislev Flesh (skin) is a layer and Dryad Bark (base hair) is a base. I thin both of them out and that's why they are in the white paint palettes.
@@jmkcustomworks Finding the best paints to use has been the most difficult part of customizing. I love Model Master, but they're getting hard to find since the brand was discontinued. I've tried Vallejo because people rave about it, but I've had poor results. I really like Tamiya and Citadel, so I'll stick with those
@Phantasia_Workshop I completely understand! I have quite a few different brands on my shelves. Citadel is my most used, though. It's very user-friendly and fairly easy to find. I loved Model Master and still use what little I have, but it's gone at retail. Army Painter is decent and I really like their clear coats. Valejo does alright for me. Duncan Rhodes-Two Thin Coats is a must for white and black!
Great work Mikey
You make it look so easy Mikey. Saving this for later.

It’s amazing to see just how much detail you can get once you get a base coat! Thanks for the extra insight

I like the tape over the individual dishes. Smart.
@patrickstralko keeps the paint from drying out for quite a while. Add a couple of drops of thinner if needed!
Love getting to see you paint this!!! One my favorites you did for me. Takes center stage in my collection.
@bear11charlie41 You're the best, man! I enjoyed painting these! I look forward to your next batch!
@@jmkcustomworks just waiting to receive them and I’ll let you know when I have them.
@@bear11charlie41 sounds like a plan!

@largoslair42 thank you sir!
Talented! I must hate you now. 😅😅😅
Great video, maybe it will help me and my awful head painting skills!
Thank you so much! Lol I certainly hope it helps!
Awesome work Mikey!! Hey what was the small detail brush you were useing?
@brhodges77 it is from The Army Painter line. It is called "The Psycho"
Mikey have you ever done a tombstone from Gi Joe and make into a classified figure?
Oh, that's an interesting one! I'll look into a build for him!
@@jmkcustomworks Cool
Maybe stricker on a viper head
What paint that you use for your gijoe classified figures
These days, I mostly use Citadel. I have some Army Painter, Valejo, among other. I still use what I have left of Testors/Model Master too.
Do you use Citadel base or layer?
