Yes, you can go for it. It will be good experience. If you have been driving for enough time in plains, then don’t worry too much about the mountains. Just follow the basics as you would do in any other place. Avoid over-speeding, follow lane discipline and don’t overtake on turns/curves.
@@himachalinomad Thanks sir for timely response. I am just worried about one way roads and if some bus or truck will be coming from the other side, the whole hassle of reversing on such small lanes worries me. Let's see we are planning for this weekend. Can you suggest other better weekend getaways from chandigarh.
Generally there is enough space for two vehicles to cross. You don’t need to reverse 90% of the times. In rare cases, when you do have to reverse your vehicle or take a very narrow pass, driver from other vehicle will surely help you. Always have spotter/co-driver while travelling on narrow himalayan roads if you are not confident. Chail and kasauli are the most easily reachable places from Chandigarh. There are few others but travel time is more than 4-5 hours so i would not count them as perfect weekend getaways.
Hello sir. Do you recommend this trip for beginners who are gonna drive for the first time in mountains in ecosport?
