Ultimate performance will not really increase your performance. it just forces everything into "no power saving" mode like C0 on a CPU. I don't understand why this myth is so widespread in the gaming community. the only "performance" you gain is the time your CPU / PCI-E etc. needs to increase the voltage to support C0 instead of the "saving modes" like C1 C1E etc. Once your CPU is in C0 (which is almost always the case if you are working on something that is not word) you don't gain anything at all. in contrast, you are using a lot more power from the wall than you should. in some rare cases (like playing VERY VERY VERY old games) you need to activate this setting to force your CPU into a set amount of GHz ( early 2000's and older) because the games are not compatible with CPU's that lower the Ghz and run at different speeds because of that) but apart from cases like this ultra-performance is basically useless.
This should be more widespread. I've lost count of how many laptops from non tech savvy friends I've found on this mode with no necessity, heating up while web browsing for no reason
12:20 This delivery option has been already baked in Windows 10 for quite some time (Maybe even since the release?) but it was mostly hidden in the update settings and it is turned on by default. Some people actually argued that it slowed down their connection as they had no idea that other PC was downloading an update from their PC.

Seems like a good general info video on upgrading to Win 11 but didn't address the 25% GPU hit that most users and tech streamers are complaining about because of VBS in Win 11. Definitely wouldn't upgrade a gaming PC just because of that, although custom builds will be able to disable VBS to get that performance back. Think I'll just wait until that's resolved totally.
It’s only even enabled by default on prebuilts so that’s people just making something out of nothing. Been running Win11 insider on main gaming pc for months and been running on this laptop and have had zero performance hit
Neither of my PCs had it on by default and everyone I’ve heard talking about it has confirmed it’s an “enabled on prebuilts” kind of thing. Some people have had certain games perform ever so slightly better on 11 even
Upgraded to Windows 11 then went back to 10. Looked great but you can’t unlock the taskbar and move it where you want. I want my primary taskbar with the clock etc on my secondary monitor.
@@Totallyquantumofficial my primary monitor is my gaming monitor, I have the secondary monitor vertical. If I set the vertical monitor as the primary monitor to get the full task bar on it then my games launch on that monitor.
I didn't backup anything and, everything went fine. Just saying. Haha Literally all of these things were transitioned over just fine. No joke. Even my default browser stuff was still the same.
My experience with Windows 11, last insider build was really bad, video card kept reseting, going into a black screen, and after a minute windows would come back... there's been a bug with newer graphics cards losing 20-30% performance... I'd wait... honestly...
Tip number one: Don't fall into this and do not install it, simple as that. I cont need anything new, I just want my PC to work as usual. I don't need any "features" unless they actually improve performance of my pc.
@@blushydanny8765 Support for most games is pretty good on GNU/Linux is pretty good these days. Personally, I used windows exclusively until about 18 months ago. For me it simply became more effective to run GNU/Linux with the querks than to take Windows with its more substantial problems. For me the last straw was when Windows told me I couldn't delete something from my own computer even though I have an admin account and used a script to take ownership of the directory recursively. I can't stand the idea that I can't do something on my computer for security reasons. If I can't do it because I'm not technically literate, that's fine. Having made the switch, I love it. Quick tip: shift + ctrl + esc is the shortcut for task manager
Never knew this -- thanks!
You can also right click the start button and task manager is in there.
im so used to just right clicking the task bar. im very sad that they removed the context menu, also small taskbar icons.
I also taught this same thing to my friends.
thanks man

Disable windows update or pause forever basically: Put your network on metered and disallow WU to update on metered connections. Easy fix!
And stay completely unsafe? Very bad idea
Hey thanks for the video! does the volume mixer built into windows 11 work the same general way as the Elgato Wave software?
It does for volume mixing, but doesn't provide virtual audio devices to map programs to. Still need something like Wave, GoXLR, etc. for that
