Just in: Supermicro Announces Appointment of BDO USA as Independent Auditor and Filing of Compliance Plan with Nasdaq. I backed up the truck on Friday, and my bet paid off.
When is the news regarding the delisting going to occur? Also, what companies faced the threat of being dislisted but ended up submitting the necessary papperwork to avoid it?
What about sold puts that are ITM? Not sure they'll stay ITM. Is trading halted at the time a defusing announcement is made? Or is there ample time for people to dump their shares?
@@josephhogue Gotcha.. The put buyer will take a loss if ITM, but that's better than -100% upon expiration. One more clarification please Joseph- how long does a stock continue to trade in the regular market after the delisting announcement is made?
Great video as always. Any update on MPW perhaps... we keep getting good news but company is getting cheaper and cheaper... not sure what is the appropriate action there to take ... Will be waiting for at least 3 years for a turnaround. Keep on with the great work 👍
You have talked about lowering your cost basis with covered calls on these shares. Am I correct in assuming you are not selling calls at these prices? It seems like the potential upside would make these a hold atm?
Days like today make me wish I hadn't sold calls but I've got most of my position covered. The idea is the call option premiums are so high that I lower my cost basis down and still can book a 60%-plus return if it exercises over the year period. Not the 100%-plus return that might be possible if shares bounce back up but I'll take it and it lowers cost a lot. My cost basis on the 12000 shares is just $19 now

Does SCMI have any unique tech? Their water cooling might be a good solution for Blackwell, but that can be copied. I see their clients and vendors hedging a bit. But maybe the business relations they have built up over time will blunt some of that hedging? I'll just sell calls in the near term and hope they avoid delisting. If they do de-list, then I'll follow their business partners moves.
Besides the liquid cooling (which isn't quite as easy to just copy) they also lead in the modular design. Even if others copy it exactly, SMCI is the pure-play on the theme and has the most to gain in the data center buildout.
I've hired out my editing but am now doing it myself. It just takes so long to train someone and then have to change every year or so. I like the process so don't mind it. Should probably consider bringing on more people to grow but I hate managing.

Why do you think it's heading to bankruptcy? Need to see your analysis because nothing points to that. Cash flow positive and growing revenue by 20% a year
Let me guess, you were saying the same thing when I started buying SOFI (now up 229%) or SOUN (now up 47%) or DKNG (up 82% when sold)... some people just like to bitch. How about present your analysis? or do you just regurgitate what you hear from short-seller commentary and accept it as fact? Good luck with that.
SOFI and soundhound both of which i own, are much different than SMCI. The allegations against the company are being seriously taken, and their inability to fill the XAI contract is a huge ding on their credibility. Speculation on SMCI in either direction is gambling at this point. The company isn't suffering from manipulation by MMs, it's suffering from garbage leadership.

Good morning Joseph. You are the best!! Thank you for all you do!!
I 2nd that
Hey Joseph! What happens to underwater put options on SMCI if it gets delisted? Do i get assigned the shares at current price? Thanks for your help.

Options usually expire when a stock delists but the holder always has the right to exercise them early which is often what happens before delisting.

If EY refuses to be the auditor do you think KPMG or Deloitte or PHC willing to make the move?
Is the management doing this to drive the stock down so they can capitalize on the rebound?
What happens to the funds trading with smci as the underlying stock; like smcy and smcx?
Fair analysis

Can you do a video on HIMS? Lots of buzz on this one
Have you ever considered taking on an apprentice to help with the channel?

$5-10 it might be a buy.
If the market crashes, it'll be $1 or $2 and obviously worth a punt, if Nvidia doesn't snap it up first.

You are not credible. Telling anyone to invest in SMCI is irresponsible.
He's right about that, and I'm buying it because it will get to a massive price.

Bought Exxon when they were released from DOW. 200% +/- return since. It's a suggestion from history. Take it or Leave it. I'm glad not to follow you.
